Seasonal airborne allergies

Hi everyone- I wanted to see if anyone has an allergy sufferer. One of my girls gets a snotty nose and a little cough every July. Vet says give her Benadryl or I can give her Zyrtec. I’ve been using Benadryl but it makes her groggy and I have to give her one every 8 hours. All I want is for her to not be miserable and for me not to worry. This usually lasts around a week in July so something is in the air she doesn’t like.
Thanks for any insight.

Maude won more ribbons, and earned her second sports title

We went to play find the rat this morning. Maude went 2/2 finding the rat on both tries. There is an empty tube and one with litter as well as the one with a rat. Because Maude had already earned a ribbon, today she got the huge RATS Canada Novice Barn ribbon.

She was an absolute doll, not minding any of the commotion, or dogs. She greeted everyone who wanted to say hi. And just generally a really good dog.

Pending RATS Canada approval, she is now known as,

Summer Moon Ruby Red NBAR.

almost lost my dog in a parking lot today, please just get a seatbelt

so this happened 2 weeks ago and im honestly still a little shaken.
im pulling into a spot at the grocery store and this lady just walks straight out infront of my car with her cart. i wasnt even going fast but i had to tap the brakes and my pup who was just chilling on the back seat slid forward and almost went right off the seat.
he was fine. just scared. but i couldnt stop thinking about it the whole drive home.
like i dont even drive with my dogs that often, this was a rare trip, and it was a parking lot at maybe 5mph. what happens if im on an actual road doing 30 and someone slams on their brakes infront of me?? i really dont want to picture it.
got home, did some quick googling, and ordered a seatbelt+harness clip thing that same night. and after seeing what people paid in vet bills for dogs that got hurt in sudden stops, honestly the belt is nothing compared to that.
anyway im not trying to preach, im just kinda rattled and wanted to share. if you throw your dog in loose like i used to... maybe dont.
whats everyone here using? is a basic seatbelt clip enough or do i need the crash tested harness type? kinda paranoid now.

My Front-Seat Dog

Tagger, my 13 year old Frenchie. My shadow and best friend. Here he is chillin' in the car with me charging phones and charging blocks. We had a really bad storm and lost electricity for 6 hours. He just wants to make sure I'm okay. Love this boy with all of my heart. I can't imagine life without him.

Maude's Sunday Adventures

TL:DR It was too warm after all for her to want to run agility, we pivoted and focused on other stuff.

Maude and I were signed up for a 'fun match', the first of four monthly events. We are in a team with 7 others, and our division has two more teams. There are two more divisions. The host club has three rings (a Standard and two games), and each division runs one of the rings, then we switch rings, etc. There are not refusals, but faults for missed contacts, skipped obstacles and fallen bars. Best three dog scores count for the team score. There are ribbons and end of season prizes.

Part of the event's purpose is to give prospective judges experience. So, Maude was successfully unofficially measured. To my great surprise the 12" wicket had a smidge of room, making her jump height 8".

It was warmer than I had hoped for our 9:30 run. We started in the Gamblers ring. Maude was great at the start line, but upon being released, darted to the shade at the back of the ring. I followed and I asked her to do a jump that was back there, which she did, so we went to the exit gate together.

I scratched her from the two other runs.

In the shade, she was fine, barely even panting. So, we practiced engagement while hanging out, and mingling among the Border Collies, plus some crate resting. Things she could do either in the shade or wearing her wet cooling coat. She was a star at that, giving me all the behaviours asked of her, not worried about anything. She was also good on the cot, staying put, even with passing people (I had a leash on her too). When crated while I did a shift of ring crew, I was told she settled and simply watched.

G.I. Tract /Slipery Elm

Hello ALL.

Chewie and I have a question if you please.

My 4yr old male that I've had for 2 years is having upset stomach issues. Foamy regurgitation.

We've changed his food to Purina Pro Plan sensitive skin and stomachs. He was eating Lucy Pet food kibble. (I believe that the Lucy products were causing his issues.) Since we've switched his food, he no longer throws up. His stool has firmed up and the color changed.

My question is about Slippery Elm. How many of you out there use this product on your babies?

Any information from you, would be great.

Thanks you.

Someone mentioned baking potatoes?

They have been camped out on the balcony for about a half hour now. Maude loves herself that Muskoka chair. While Edna prefers to be ready to guard the place from passing pigeons.

My brindle beauties.

Maude just loves the camera, and poses better than she does when I have my phone out. Edna was not having it, so here she is looking away.
