"Zen Flows", my latest meditation/deepfocus/relax album!

Hi everyone!

I'd like to tell you about my new album "Zen Flows", released today.

https://open.spotify.com/intl-it/track/4ZAzQex4IjogYZuDAL15w9

https://music.amazon.it/albums/B0H6B3ZWD1

This is the kind of music you would put on while you are trying to relax, sleep, focus, meditate or in general avoid external distractions.

I was working on it since last autumn, when the whole idea came out after trying to record a windchime I bought in the US during a trip last summer. That simple session (which resulted in a youtube seminal video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEZyR-l-LQs ) evolved into a deeper idea: creating an immersive, organic relaxation experience where every single element had a human and natural touch. If you wander on my youtube channel you will discover I love to record myself playing all kind of weird instruments!

It was an interesting journey, I tried to make something cool but still personal, while maintaining the original idea

I combined minimalist piano lines and quiet pads with an array of acoustic instruments, including: tibetan bells, windchimes, native flute, didgeridoo, rainstick coupled with ambient sounds recorded by myself (sea waves, birds at dawn, rain, water flowing, even my heartbeat...)

My main goal was to create something polished, personal and evocative while keeping the original vision intact. In a market currently flooded with generative music, no AI was harmed during the recordin… this is 100% human-made even the cover artwork is a beautiful hand-drawing made by my wife :P

I'm also more than happy to discuss the recording process or the gear used for the field recordings if anyone is interested. I have used cakewalk Sonar to record everything. Piano are mostly from NI Noire and IK Pianoverse (its ambient background is fantastic for this purpose) while pads are from NI Komplete, EW, Korg M1
I have also used Dreamtonics SynthV to sing some mantra ("Om - Shanti") in the track "Inner Tao"

I thought it was the right place to showcase it! :)

Remove Vowel Phoneme Gaps without changing Consonant Locations

I've noticed that for short melisma notes if the next word has consonant like "F" it cuts into the note making it almost non-existent. Is there a way to close this gap so the "F" phoneme stays right where it is, but the vowel phoneme is extended to it? Yes, I can drag the lines, but it moves both not just one.

Trying to purchase Eleanor Forte

Hello! I want to start by saying I did already send an email to eshop@animen.com.tw, and I received a reply with a link to newebpay from aries@14star.com. Unfortunately I was running into issues with payment not going through (authorization error) even after receiving an automated message from the bank and specifying to them that the purchase was legitimate.

I emailed Aries back saying I was having issues with payment, and they asked if I used paypal.

The exact response was: "Hello, we can also provide PayPal account for recieving payments. Do you use paypal?" (From aries@14star.com)

So, I have a few questions...

  1. Is this legit? I'm hoping I didn't just give a scammer my credit card info and address.

  2. Is the paypal a scam? Paypal always sets off my mental scam alarms so I'm a bit worried that using it will get me scammed hard.

  3. Has anybody else had an experience like this when purchasing Eleanor Forte? If anybody has, please let me know how it went and how I should handle this.

  4. What could've caused the credit card issues? The authorization issues still kept happening even after confirming to the bank the purchases were legit, so I have no idea what's happening.

I will try to provide more details if necessary, ofc nothing personal like my credit card or anything😭

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Does Dreamtonics (or any of the other shops that sell SynthV directly and not just voicebanks) have a mailing list?

Hello! I would like to get my hands on SynthV, but I am on a fixed income and would like to buy it on sale if at all possible. I know that sales are infrequent, so I don't want to miss them when they happen, but I can't seem to find a mailing list for dreamtonics (or anyone else for that matter). Do y'all just keep a close eye on the websites? how is this done?

What are your opinions on these comments? (Context below)

So I was on Youtube and I saw this video "I'm a chud song (Kasane Teto Cover)" by KyuKai and I saw this pinned comment and it just made my blood boil a little bit so I wanted to see some other people's opinions on it.

i'm making an Eleanor Forte celebration and i'm trying to reach as much people as possible

so as we know Eleanor is considered discontinued by dreamtonics, so i created a celebration of her called Goodbye Eleanor Forte (more info is in my pinned post on twitter, search #GoodbyeEleanorForte) but my account is small and i'll definitely have trouble reaching people, so i'm posting about it here as well, it's not something big, just sharing our works featuring her and reflecting on everything she means to some people

What are some ways I can improve my tuning?

I'm still sort of new to Synthesizer V, so I'm still trying to learn how to tune vocals. Got any tips I can use?

Can't log into my SynthV 2 Pro due to offline license.

I am currently visiting relatives in another country, and I decided to work on some SynthV projects, but when I installed SynthV 2 pro and tried to log in, but it kept saying that I need to disable the offline license on my main computer, which I can't do since I'm in another country.

Is there any way to open the application in online mode only?

Here's why Teto's transition to Synthesizer V, has been the most successful transition to a different engine compared to other characters

I see a lot of people questioning why their faves didn't get the success Teto had when they transitioned to another engine, or got that AI update, and I feel like we need to explain what made Teto's transition successful, to explain why others didn't have the huge boom.

We have to start with Teto's origin, and as a character. She released as an April Fool's prank, fooling people into thinking she's a new Vocaloid, but when the truth got out that she wasn't coming, people have labeled her as the "Fake Diva, that wanted to become a real Vocaloid". Now she received a voicebank on UTAU. An engine that functions like Vocaloid, but due to the third-party creation of it, and how it was amateur in comparison to Vocaloid, UTAU wouldn't have much of a competitive chance against Vocaloid (tbh I think UTAU is lowkey better than Vocaloid, in terms of realism, because I have seen some people who have used UTAU to make voices sound so much more realistic than Vocaloid, that I almost thought a human was singing some of these songs).

Even though Teto was confirmed fake, she still had a very big presence within the Vocaloid scene, appearing in fanart, concerts, and original songs, some with Hatsune Miku, to where people to this day, still confuse her as a Vocaloid.

When Teto received her Synthesizer V voicebank, it became a big deal. Even though it wasn't her true goal, rather to become a Vocaloid, since Synthesizer V is considered to be the industry standard vocal-synth engine, despite it being (and still) niche compared to Vocaloid. It felt like Teto had finally became a serious commercial voicebank, that she no longer had that "Fake Diva", status. And I believe that this transition to Synthesizer V instead of Vocaloid was the much better option.

One thing that I noticed in the modern fandom, is that most of the new characters getting attention, are on other engines outside of Vocaloid such as Yi Xi, KAFU, Adachi Rei, Chis-A, Solaria, Koharu Rikka, Zundamon, UI (bleh), and others. While there are new characters coming to Vocaloid such as Fuiro, Po-uta, Vocal no Ci-Chan, and Hibiki Koto, they never had that much fanfare, in the fandom, and I think it's mainly because Vocaloid 6 voicebanks are not the industry standard voicebanks compared to the competition. With SynthV being the standard, new characters getting popular on other engines, and Teto having her "Fake Diva" status, her Synthesizer V switch just became more popular.

Which also explain why other characters didn't get a spark of popularity in comparison. There were UTAUs that did go to Synthesizer V, but didn't see much of a spike was for many reasons. 1. They didn't have that "Fake Diva" Status, and didn't have a huge amount of global fanfare during their UTAU days where the switch changed their status (All of them). 2. They had their voicebanks before the AI craze (Yamine Renri, Haiyi, and Cangqiong). 3. Some were native Chinese voicebanks, and chinaloids don't get much fanfare in the global fandom in comparison to Japanese voicebanks (XIA YU XIAO, OSCAR, Haiyi, and Cangqiong). 4. Their UTAU voicebanks were private, so people weren't even able to see what they were all about before coming to SynthV (Haiyi and Cangqiong).

There were also other Vocaloids, well known ones like GUMI, Una, and Kiyoteru that got into Synthesizer V, but also didn't get that spark because, like I said in the last paragraph, they didn't have their "Fake Diva" status. They were already the industry standard voicebanks, on the industry standard at the time Vocaloid, especially with GUMI, since Internet Co. wants to make the highest quality voicebanks they can have at the time. It didn't feel like a shift in character, but the natural evolution to what's hot at the time.

Other UTAUs also got Teto's wish, such as Macne Nana, Macne Petit, Shiki Rowen, Gekiyaku, Kazehiki, Nurse Robot Type T, and soon Adachi Rei, and Ooka Miko, but they didn't receive too much fanfare because they are UTAUs that did have a certain amount of popularity, but not enough to have seats with iconic Vocaloids such as GUMI and the Piapro Charcters in terms of memorable songs. Adachi Rei would be the closest to it, but I honestly think she won't get a spike in popularity, because she already has a huge fanfare in the modern Vocal Synth space, her coming to Vocaloid, may be a status, but she never had the "Fake Diva" storyline to really change her. Especially since most people know her for having a garbage voicebank, seeing that same garbage quality voicebank, but now on Vocaloid isn't really going to make people choose Vocaloid over her, especially since she has a Diffsinger voicebank, so why use Vocaloid, where there's a version of her for free. Ooka Miko may be in the similar boat with Teto in terms of being a Vipperloid, but she doesn't have that big amount of popularity Teto has had to see the character have a big shift in character.

So in conclusion, Teto's SynthV transition became a hit due to her label, her release, and the contribution she has done for the community before the switch.

GUMANIA | Rock & Metal GUMI album | WORLD PREMIERE

Hello everyone!

A couple months ago you may remember me posting an announcement for GUMANIA - a rock & metal collab album centered around GUMI that I'm directing.

Well, as it's finally nearing her birthday, the 26th (already there in many territories), I'm pleased to be able to share a link to the album's Youtube premiere!

Working on this album alongside so many talented producers over the past 6 months has been such an incredible experience and we've created something truly special to celebrate Gumi's birthday. I hope you enjoy it!

Premieres at 12am EST! Album will also be available to stream wherever you get your music! Physical releases are TBD but something I'm very much interested in pursuing.

Album artwork was done by Soma Neptune!
