Is there a way to reduce HUD size or change it? it´s VERY large which impedes the immersive feeling I think the game has when playing with No HUD

As in title, the HUD is very large, a bit too large in my opinion, I think the games visuals is one of the best things about it. but having half my screen be covered in text and stuff is very distracting, I can play with no HUD but I still want to see ammo or hp and such for instance.

Forever Winter RTS

From the landscapes, lore and the assortment of enemy types. I think FunDog has constricted one of the most interesting Sci-Fi universes next to Warhammer40k.

With that being said. A Forever Winter RTS game would be the absolute bees-knees.

Imagine being able to take control of these factions while they clash on the gorgeous and grotesque battlefields of the ruined world.

Sometime during Night Shift

Maskman:AAAAAAAAAAA

And since some of you might recognize it, I'll mention it in advance: I used an illustration from the Court of Owls episode of Batman.

Haven't played in a year or so, considering wiping my launch save to get a fresh start and get to experience the new early game. Is this a good idea or am I making a horrible mistake?

Burnt out on my other games and saving up to move out so I am going back and revisiting some older games I haven't touched in awhile and saw that an update for FW just came out. I haven't played in probably a year and a half and was looking through the updates/guides and see there is a ton of new content and quests and reworks, that I thought it might be fun to experience the newer new player experience rather than what it was at launch. Am I setting myself up for a harder time or will this be fun? I usually love the early part of games and extraction/loot games.

Has the game changed a ton since then as well for balancing of weapons? I saw some heavier/higher tier ones are now crafting exclusive it seems. And how is crafting? My main love of games like this is looting and crafting rather than shooting lol.

Also I don't see any way of resetting my save in the game? Do I just do the method of disabling steam cloud save and moving/deleting my save data so a new one set of files is made?

The Forever Winter - May Update: "Desert Days"

Hello scavs! The next QOL update (0938) is now available! Tons of good stuff in there — along with a recap of improvements from last month. Next up: a major pass on weapon tuning, followed by more targeted AI work. Mother Courage quests will continue in June, along with something Burst-related... Again, we can't stress this enough: thank you for supporting the artbook and soundtrack! Because of you, we're able to produce LPs, and we'll be bringing the first batch to SDCC. See you in the wastes! Dont die out there — Fundog Out

Is there a way to restart your character to start clean?

As the title says. I started as Shaman, with a lot of those sensors you can equip to see behind walls. It was my first time playing the game, died a lot, lost them all, and while now I have money I don't know how to get them back. Plus I heard there was a new tutorial content.

Thoughts on movement update? Slidey and grounded imo

In my opinion, the movement feels like the character is now glued to the floor, and the animations kind of slide over the terrain. Character feels like one of those unity fps character template vibes.

Does it feel more arcade like? Scav girl just floats over everything. Almost like the rubble doesn't matter. I do wish the jump animation was fixed.

Question for the obligatory eclispe screenshot

Took this beautiful screenshot between cyber mass slaughter and Dommy mommy superior chase.

Lore question would be, why is the sun so massive? I know the planet is essentially toast and essentially could never go back to green fields and high tides forever, but did the extra weight in our atmosphere drag us closer to the sun? Wouldn’t that pose astrological problems?

More or less just wanted to show off this screenshot (new desktop background)

Dear developers, you forgot to remove the godawful forced over the shoulder aim zoom. Please, give me a option to disable it.

There is already a mod to remove it, but i cant use it for multiplayer.

An oversight, a bad one unfortunately.

Thumbs up for the movement update, it really makes the game far more enjoyable.

G36 lost some customization (handguard rails + muzzle option)

Checking out the update and recreating my weapon presets I noticed that this one lost some options. Probably a bug or not mentioned balancing. Although G36 is already having a tough time begin with, not sure why it would be nerfed.

Advice for someone who doesn't have friends to play with? Made a few silly mistakes.

I actually bought this game forever, ago, I adore the concept, but didn't actually start the game till about 3 days ago.

I admit, I def feel like the New Player experience isn't the best, but I love the atmosphere.

My mistakes as a new player:

- Looking for Bunco all over the damn place to buy stuff for the initial quest. Couldn't ever find him, I had to look on the internet to see that he doesn't actually show up, you have to buy from the menu.

- This one isn't really a mistake, but a bug. The quest that has you buying a small medpack and 5.45 ammo wasn't completing, I bought a bunch of med packs and ammo, and nothing worked. I figured it might be bugged, so I abandoned the quest, activated it again, and then it worked, but this now leads into next mistake...

- I started the quest to traverse Tunnel A. I walked for a bit, and saw the quest was reading as essentially complete, so I was like, so can I just return to the Innards without extracting? Very dumb, I know. Anyway, I did that, and it said ALL my items were gone, including the ton of ammo and medical supplies. So I went back, the game told me I could find my tombstone to retrieve my stuff, but I could never find the tombstone, the tunnel was a new layout.

- First quest to traverse the Ashen Mesa actually went pretty smooth. I darted through ruins to avoid a bunch of drones overhead that were just taking out tons of Cyborgs. While looting I heard footsteps, turned around and got bonked on the head by some soldiers, I lived and killed them all, but was low health. I eventually found a long narrow bridge that was swarmed with Drones that were busy shooting at things I couldn't see. I crossed the bridge and saw a gaggle of Cyborgs. I was low on ammo, and hid behind a pillar. I then remembered I had a grenade! So I tossed it...only to realize, oops, it's a scramble grenade, not an actual frag grenade, so it did nothing to them, and I got swarmed and the all hit me at once, killing me.

Then Slade said "wow! you made it back!" Yeah, in a body bag with nothing to show for it :(

I want to try matching with randoms, what's the proper etiquette when playing with random people? Anything I should know that the game doesn't tell you? What loot is actually worth it vs what's just junk?

Can we expect graphics optimization?

Love the game and can run it fine enough, but running this "playable artbook" at lowest settings feels kinda like a disservice. Can we expect some lower requirements on the future?
