Dear TTG... We Can Be Patient

There's been more than a time or two that an update has released that was just not ready to be released.

To TTG - If it's not ready, or if you think something might be too powerful, just cook a little longer. It's okay. I want a polished product and no reason to sharpen my pitchfork and light my torch.

Hopefully I speak for the community and we can agree that getting a better update is preferred over a sooner update that has to be scrambled to fix and will piss off a lot of us.

Just because you gave us a timeline doesn't mean you have to keep it. Delays are fine!

Thank you and happy defending.

How to Prep Modules before v29 update?

I know with the new update, they'll be moving from leveling modules to leveling module slots.

How should we prepare for this? Should we reset all of our modules? Or as part of your code, will you be reverting and refunding ALL modules to lv1?

If someone from the official team could respond and confirm this, that would be helpful! I didn't see this in any of the previous tower teas.

19 months in: 600-650 waves in Legend with only the 3 permanent packs (no stone or premium packs or event boosts)

I thought I'd share my current build and the path I took to get here, mostly to give an example of how far you can progress without whaling on stone packs. I feel frustrated when people post achievements without detailesd builds that can be used as targets, so I will try to provide relevant data.

To be clear, this is not F2P. I started this account in January 2025 and played my first month without any packs. After that first month, I bought the no ads pack, then about six months later I bought the other two coin packs.

That's all I've ever spent on the account: no stone packs, no premium passes for milestone bonuses, no event boosts, and no other purchases.

The screenshots show my full build as it stands today.

Playtime and gems

One thing that probably matters a lot: I click a lot of gems.

Basically, the only time I'm not clicking them every 10 minutes is during the 5-6 hours a day I'm asleep. I've also been running the game 24/7 pretty much since the beginning.

Very early on, I deliberately arranged my farming around 11:30-12h runs. That lets me start one in the morning before work and another in the evening before making dinner for the kids, and then I only have to click gems during the run.

Shorter runs might sometimes have been more optimal, but this setup made it possible for me to keep the game running consistently without having to actively manage it all day.

UW progression

My UW progression was:
DW -> GT -> CL -> BH -> SL

Build progression

I started with a defabs build on T1, up to roughly wave 6-7k, and then played blender for basically my entire progression after that.

I maxed Lab Speed and Shatter Shard as soon as I could, without gem rushing them.

When I reached Platinum, I picked up CL and invested into it until roughly its current state.

After that, I focused heavily on econ. I brought GT/BH/DW to 140s cooldown, then took BH to 50s. I've always farmed using MVN + BHD.

That combination of econ investment and CL let me progress in tourney with a hybrid build: SF for tanking, AS/PF/DC for damage. I kept pushing that setup until I was reaching top 5 Champion. I never relied on pbh, and reallly love UW dur BC (and even now since competitors also rely on CF).

At that point I saved and picked up SL4.

That led my econ to be ready to sustain masteries, taken in that order:
RPC, IS, ST, DMG, Berzerk

These last three masteries are what pushed me from ocassionally getting to legend, to staying there 3/4th of the time.

Then, to move my farming setup to min range, I took FU mastery, mainly so I could lock orbs, shockwave size and EALS.

Where I am now

I'm currently doing around 600–650 waves in Legend.

For tournaments I've moved to a full damage build. I replaced SF with ACP, run at 160m range, and my results currently depend quite a bit on Berzerker mastery RNG.

So that's basically where all the screenshots attached to this post are coming from.

Where I'm going next

My next big stone investment will probably be around 7,000 stones to get DW cooldown to 50s and BH duration to 38s.

With MVN, that should move my sync from 65s to 50s and let me farm with pBH.

I'm hoping that will be enough to move my normal farming from T11/T12 to T13, while also letting me make more progress on the dissonance labs.

After that, I'll probably start unlocking the remaining assmods and work toward getting bonuses/submods to 20% across the board.

Then I'll fill in more masteries, probably something along the lines of:

DM, EN, UWC, WA, EB, EO, Cash, Coins

After that, assuming I get lucky with my UW pulls, I'll go for CF, which I'm expecting to cost another ~6–7k stones.

Then the plan is to finish buying the remaining UWs without investing much into them initially, so I can start working toward GT+, CF+ and SL+.

Realistically, I think all of that is probably another year and a half of progression.

Conclusion

The main thing I've noticed is that my progression has actually been pretty steady.

At basically every stage there were a ton of players who seemed massively ahead of me, some of them buying stones, event boost and premium packs, but I've still been able to keep moving upward without buying anything beyond the three permanent packs.

There are definitely points where progression gets gated by module RNG, especially when you're waiting for specific modules or enough copies to reach Ancestral. But when that happens, I've usually been able to adapt the build around what I actually have without losing too much competitiveness, for very long.

And ultimately, virtually nobody has a perfect build order anyway.

So for anyone wondering how far you can realistically get without regularly buying stones: this is where 19 months of very active, 24/7 play with only the three permanent packs has gotten me.

Finally

I’ve started playing on 2nd of December 2025. I’ve finally reached 1T coins per hour! 😁

When did you finish lab speed?

Lab speed. The myth. The legend. The eternal lab. The rumored 5th lab slot.

It took me 1 years and 9 months, because I never played overnight and before dissonance I farmed on higher tiers than I should have. So I didn't have many cells.

I know by raw time it takes like over 2.5 years. How long did it take for you?

Dear defenders

I’ve been on this game for a few years now, had my ups and down, but still is just a daily thing I have going on while I work or sleep or what ever .

The community is freaking awesome , so helpful, zero toxicity from what I’ve seen, and it’s an all around fun game to have gotten into.

However

I’m pretty casual , and I have a business, a mortgage, a dog, a life, like everyone else , and when I ask a question about what to do next , I get super in depth posts and immediate help… but you may as well say it’s in another language.

Every thing is two letters, and I just have no idea what anyone’s talking about.

YKWITAR? JUTUWTGWYWTG.

That’s basically the responses in a nut shell.

Is there , and if not, Can someone make a guide so that the newer, or super casual players who don’t have time to learn the condensed wording of what people are trying to say just a short click away?

Thank you for your attention to the matter 🥴

What the fuck is going on in leagues above silver?

Dude, I just promoted and barely reached 200 waves. Tf do you mean there are 2000+ waves players?

Enhancement coin discount lab

I have been running both utility and attach enhancement coin discount lab since I unlocked them. Currently in the mid 60’s but it is really starting to slow down. I was planning on just having this in 2 slots until they are done but now I am questioning if it is worth it. I have been playing for 4 years so my labs are in a really good spot. But I don’t want to waste my time. I have workshop respec unlocked. How often do yall recommend I respec my workshop to unlock more coins from the discount levels?

Battle Conditions Forecast/Report (plus impending hiatus)

Legends - Basic Ult hooray! Tank Ult if you care to adjust your TP.

Champs - Basic Ult hooray! Prot Ult (adjust your TP).

Plat - DR Resist (if you want to swap the card out, also not that KB Resist can make EO more attractive).

Gold - DR Resist (if you want to swap the card out).

Silver/Copper - Good luck!

Finally, to everyone, I have been less consistent with these posts over the last couple months, and generally less active around the sub for some time. I am feeling a bit burnt out of the game these days, and life is pretty busy. I am going to stop putting these together, at least for a while. If anyone wants to continue this, or if a group wants to do a rotation, you have my full blessing and please let me know if I can help with anything.

Best of luck to everyone in the current tourney and future ones!

I just got past t18 wave 1000 which mean I unlocked

Battle condition reduction. I know nothing about this lab so tell me how useful is this going to be?

Defense discos feel impossible without pBH

I'm having trouble getting more than 3k waves on any tier for my defense dissonant runs despite my damage being more than enough to kill the wave. Not being able to use space displacer, land mine stun, or shockwave feels genuinely bad for cc.

BH cooldown is 150 seconds with a duration of 38 with the perk. I have Cl, ILM, BH, GT, and DW. CL damage is always well above wave health when I die. Using an ancestral Shrink Ray, M+ OA, legendary PF, and M+ DC. Attack speed is 57. How do I actually win a defense dissonant run?

should I always save my gems for a lucky banner?

I've basically only been spending gems on rotating relics, is it worth it to buy the standard banners even?

Excessive Death Wave

I have maxed cd and quantity on my DW. On both of my core modules I have anc dw quantity and cd . (I know its not necessary, will roll assist core)

Quantity 11 Cooldown 24s

The situation is DW is not still perma . There is still a deadtime between activation and I think effect wave frequency got up ridiculously.

Does effect wave activation was always this fast or my waves are overlaping each other ?

Enemy Balance: Do you use it? How?

I've been using it on every run so far. It seems to speed everything up. I considered taking them off for long distance runs but that would mean less cash.

Death Penalty vs Other Cannons for High Tier Milestones?

When does Death Penalty's unique effect become less valuable than other cannons? The 15% insta kill isn't reliable to kill bosses and fleets for high tier milestone pushing or Legends.

Let's assume same stars and substats for the comparison.

What about factoring in assist slot?

New screen locking utility

Hi all

I posted about this a little while ago seeking testers. I am pleased to announce that my screen-locking app is now live on Google Play, entitled "Gamelock Overlay". I made it for The Tower specifically (though it obviously works with anything).

What it does:

  • Switches the screen off: saves power, helps prevent the phone from overheating (thus protecting the battery), prevents screen burn-in from long runs.
  • Locks the phone: You can leave the game running, but have your actual phone locked. So, if someone nicks it while you're in the middle of a run, the rest of your data is protected long enough for you to report it stolen and brick it.

Monetisation:

Monetisation is simple. I strongly dislike ads and subscriptions so this app has neither. Download is free, you get a 14-day full-featured trial period, and then if you like it, it is a small one-off purchase to keep it. That is all.

I'm happy to field any questions.

EDIT: To clarify because someone asked, it doesn't actually switch the screen off but adds a black overlay. For OLED screens (which is almost all phones these days), this is functionally the same thing and is how every other screen dimming app works, but for older IPS screens it isn't. They will still benefit, but to a lesser extent because the backlight is still on.

EDIT 2: Also, to be specific, when I say it locks the phone I mean it uses biometrics. It doesn't just block accidental touches (though it does that too).

Orb distance and % killed with effect active

Hello,

I was playing around after last tournament and feel really dumb now.

Basically I have EO mastery maxed and used to always run minimal range on orbs (30m). To average 68% killed with orb effect.

Running GC t17, t18

Tried 39m for two runs and noticed a big increase in coins from 202-210q/h to 232q/h and 80% orb effect kill.

Little PSA for anyone who is still struggling like me to balance everything.

Also what orb range do others run ?
