Keep it stock or not?

Keep it stock or not?

Looking for opinions on what to do with my lovely little truck. ‘93 5 speed with 22re, about 200k on it. Beds been somewhat smashed in on the back both sides, rust around the windshield and on the roof, dings and dents all over and the paint is not good. The frame is in excellent shape as it’s been a California truck all it’s life. It’s bone stock other than the wheels and a rear tube bumper.
Trying to decide if I should keep it stock or do some modifications. Nothing too crazy but maybe a SAS, regear and lockers, 3-4” lift and some 33s or 35s.
What do you all think?

New to me 1994 Pickup!

Super pumped. Thanks to this Reddit group - helped me with a lot of research before making the purchase!

Anyone have thoughts about a bed liner? Gotta get something in there, but hesitant to do a spray-on… and worried about rust with a drop-in liner…

350 Swap

Hey Y'all,

I have a 1984 toyota pickup, 2wd, 22r. I'm looking to swap a gen 1 350 sbc. The motor is stock. My truck currently has a w52 5 speed trans. Are there any adaptors to mate the 350 to this trans or is a w56 swap a necessity. I also got a bundle of parts from my buddy. An advanced adaptors bellhousing for a 350 swap with the casting number AA 711538 as well as a clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, and motor mounts. I'm having a hard time finding this adaptor on AA's website.

Is it worth trying to find swap parts for the W52 or should i ditch the idea all together and start looking for a w56 trans?

Smooth idle, rough acceleration

Everything has been running fine after getting this truck back to normal. But now when I push the accelerator it stalls or does this. Anyone experiencing this or has in the past please help.

Trying to find a coolant leak

clear reservoir is what determined there’s a leak. radiator is still full and the hoses up top look to be okay. however underneath I noticed this large hose coming from the radiator with some sludge and a clear / yellowish / watery consistency fluid dripping off of it. could this be my leak? it’d be a pretty large one if so and it’d make sense why mines draining so quickly

Hilux questions

Hello, I’m looking at buying an older hilux like the one pictured. Picking it up for around $4,000 however, it is diesel. I know I love my current Toyota truck but it’s gas. I’ve never worked on a diesel engine in my life and wanted to know if it’s significantly more expensive or complex.

1979 Toyota dolphin front Brakes

UPDATE:

Edit Hello everybody. Thanks for commenting. I did install the clip incorrectly because it was midnight and I wanted to get a picture of it to show the world but I guess everybody is hyper focused on the wrong installation rather than the question.

The most important question I have is has anybody seen this type of clip because I can’t find it anywhere? I need to know where to buy it. I’ve done many revers google searches and taken this clip to countless stores and can’t find it

I know, I know, I should have taken pictures before taking it apart.

Does anybody know if this is even the right rattle clip for 1979 Toyota dolphin motor home? It uses the hilux chassis and frame. Everywhere I try to source this clip from tries to sell me the other looking rattle clip that doesn’t fit my set up.

Has anybody seen this?

Do I have it on correctly

Where can o get a new rattle clip?

Want to sell

92 Toyota 4x4, 22r-e, 5 speed, 223k. Turn key. Clean title in my name. Oil always changed and truck maintained. Never dogged out. Not modded. Located near triad area of NC. Sandy Ridge, Nc to be precise. It's an NC truck; has little to no rust if any. Literal pawpaw truck. A friend of mine's grandfather died earlier this year and I bought it from the estate. Was his daily and used to get cigarettes, groceries and taking his trash to dump.

Paint is starting to peel on hood but nowhere else

The rain guard on the passenger side is cracked

The seam in the headliner is slit- just on the seam.

Small crack in windshield

Normal cosmetic wear. Overall in great condition. What you see is what you get. No gimmicks.

Asking 8k obo.

New truck, emotional storyb

Hi, first time here, just wanted to share the story of my new truck. 342,000 miles, 36 years old. My uncle, who recently passed away left me this truck, which I learned to drive in. It's always been famous in my area because he drove it everywhere, even around the continent. I never expected to be left this, and he's given me the job of getting it to 500k miles and I really hope I'll make it.

I wanted to share because this now means so much to me, it's my memory of my uncle every time I drive it..

22re timing chain

Hello all!

My 1995 Toyota pickups timing chain snapped when I turned the engine over in my driveway. I assumed full rebuild but my mechanic said I got super lucky and since I was pretty much idling, no damage was done. Just had to do timing chain/ etc and some other stuff I can’t remember. Any of yall had this happen, car does have a louder “tick” sound and mechanic said compression is slightly off because of a cylinder head got a little nick in it. If this has happened to any of you how much longer did the engine go for? Did I really get lucky or am I in trouble?

(Ignore the rags on the ground haha)

Mod questions

I have a 1992 Toyota pickup with the 22re 4 inch lift kit or so I was told from my great uncle who owned it before me, on 33s and 15 in rims, independent front suspension 4wd. I use it currently as my daily vehicle but I'd like to give it just a little bit more power and make it abit tougher, I like to go through the woods and mud but I'd also like to have abit more speed and control flying down dirt roads too. Would anyone have any tire recommendations, suspension recommendations, gearing recommendations and any engine mod suggestions? I know it's a lot of asking but I'd like to "work out a future order" for the truck.

Tire recommendations?

I have a ‘98 4wd T100 SR5 and I’m looking for tire recommendations! I daily it but I also do occasionally off-road it. Currently has some Bridgestone Dueler Revo 2’s on it. What’s everyone running on theirs?
