RIP Portfolio
Absolute carnage with my portfolio, some stocks went down 20-30% in two trading days. Memecoin levels of volatility. I am still up a bit this year, but for how long?
Bulls are u doing ok? Need a hug?

Hi everyone,
I'm interested in hearing from UK investors of all experience levels.
Whether you're investing in stocks, ETFs, funds, property, pensions, or anything else, what are the biggest challenges, frustrations, or problems you face?
I was going to post this on reddit as a question: If the NASDAQ has made index funds forcibly buy SpaceX stock after 15 days then isn't this guarantying an artificial "pump" to the stock and couldn't I then just sell once this has happened ?
I am not an investor (clearly) but I was hoping someone would be able to explain this to me as it seems to good to be true ?
Thanks
To be fair, I’m not sure what I’m doing as I’m learning as I do along, I have a lump sum to put in there (£3-5k) but I’m waiting for this “market crash” that’s everyone talking about, in the meantime I threw £250 in there.
Based in the UK. Any advice for me? What else should I invest in? I’m quite risk averse and wouldn’t wanna lose my money or gamble etc. Investing to make the most of my money and just to put cash away for things like house deposit or just for my future etc, won’t need for 5 years minimum, I do have an emergency fund in the meantime if I ever need it
just saw that spacex ipo is available. however before i market buy.
are we participating ipo
or
buying the shares after its trading debuts? so might bought at very high price?
I just dumped 2/3 of my savings into this vanguard ETF and now I’ve heard people talking abt adding it monthly or weekly, does it make a big difference.

Hi
I have been investing in an s&s Isa for around 6 weeks. Prior to this I had been happy with my cash isa's and earning a couple of hundred per month in interest.
I then moved over about 60% of my cash isa as next year I will have to use a s&s isa anyway due to the rule changes.
Must admit I got a little caught up in the Micron hype. I didn't realise people offload on a Friday etc. After the first couple of weeks I done the same thinking I would buy again on the Monday and I didn't get the chance as it skyrocketed 😂. I did do ok on Micron earning around £2000 but it would have been 7 or 8 grand if I hadn't sold for profit on the Friday.
It's been quite a turnaround for someone who didn't want to risk my savings to having nearly all invested.
Anyway prior to Fridays dip (I put a lot of cash in on Thursday) I had done a portfolio transfer for the remainder of my cash isa (minus an emergency fund).
I had intended to put this into VWRP. I expect the transfer will complete tomorrow.
I'm wondering if given the on sale prices (assuming they still are well priced when funds recieved) if I should instead put it in companies such as Micron who's fundamental haven't changed.
My main holding is Nvidia but my average is high compared to the current price. I also have SoFi and $now. With Service now I am way over the current price. I do feel Nvidia and Sofi will recover.
I realise its a crystal ball question but what would you do? Lower my average on existing companies? Buy new holdings such as Micron and Marvel or stick it in VWRP.
I do not need the cash for at least 10 years. I am down the £2000 Micron profit and an unrealised result of £3000. I already have a small amount in VWRP, RR, a semi etf which are all doing ok.
I am looking to invest £125k into WRDA EFT. Which works out to around 3600 shares.
The EFT volume is 46,539. 3600 works out as 8% of the volume (which seems wrong). Should i order in smaller amounts, or can i buy at once and not affect the price?
Forgive me if this is a stupid question. i do not invest often.
Thank you
Someone mentioned that short term bonds night be a good option. They mentioned SGOV amongst others. However, there's only a CFD 5x on the app. Can someone tell me how this relates to the bonds, please? Thanks.
I'm currently "playing it safe" and was told to just put all my money into FTSE all world so that's what I've done. Ive been very happy with the progress so far, but is there anything I could be doing better? Any other companies to split my money into? Here for any advice
I’m starting to see some good compounding I invest about 600 a month. I still crave the fast money stocks, put it all on black and pray who knows! I’m 27 and don’t fancy working tomorrow never mind the the next 10 years lol
but it is going to get included in a bunch of index funds on day 1.
What should be my strategy to avoid it ? I was thinking of selling ahead of the IPO and re-buying a few days after?
I’ve (UK, just turned 18y/old) been investing for all of a week-ish so I know it’s ridiculous being so nervous, this is my full ‘portfolio’, and I can’t help but keep checking it all the time and being demoralised when it’s not in the green, even though I know it’s stupid. Still can’t help but feel jealous of major gains even though it’s basically gambling in my eyes, and to see red in such a bull market isn’t ideal either.
Mostly just asking for thoughts on how to keep positive mainly, even I’m not stupid enough to tinker around with my portfolio apart from putting more in.
I posted my Trading 212 GIA gains 9 months ago (you may check my post history). My GIA gains have significantly increased since then. Although most of the stocks I own are long-term stocks, I am increasingly thinking of taking some profits. Unfortunately, the tax implications are massive (I am a higher rate taxpayer). How do I minimise my tax burden? Thanks for your suggestions.
Note:
I am in my mid-30s
I have a separate ISA account which I have pretty much maxed out over the past 4 years
I started contributing to a SIPP last year.

Crypto, SIPP, S&S ISA etc?
