Inconsistent update comments

Why is there such a mixture of application update comments per app? If I ever notice that one or more apps have updates and I click into it to find out what might've changed, it is a mixed bag. Some are really good and state a decent changelog or are just clear about the changes. The vast majority just say "bug fixes and improvements" with no data to explain what they mean. The worst ones try to turn this field into a "witty" comment around puns for their app or that they've squished bugs and polished stuff etc or the same generic message spans several updates.

At least with open source apps, they're far more up front about changes.

Why do so many games on Play Store insist on asking you to accept tracking cookies from hundreds of partners and only allow you to deactivate each one manually?

Every time I think I just wanna download a game to fill some time, as soon as I start it up I've firstly got to deny pointless notifications then am faced with a crappy pop up saying that they and their 247 partners value your privacy so much that they'll make it infuriatingly tedious to decline. I just then immediately uninstall.

How was it that the Picts in Scotland were able to repel the Romans but not the smaller forces of the Vikings centuries later?

My understanding is that the Romans were numerous, incredibly well organised and disciplined and focused yet they were ultimately unable to fully penetrate the bulk of the Scottish mainland and ultimately chose to fence the Picts in via Hadrian's Wall. However, a few hundred years later the Vikings were able to travel to the Scottish mainland and islands by longship which must've been much smaller than the equivalent Roman Galleys and were more successful at conquering, assimilating and integrating with Scottish people of the time. How could a huge Roman army fail but smaller raiding boats of likely less disciplined Northmen succeed?
