Transfemmes4 masculine What dating apps/methods have worked for you?

Hey feminine peeps I'm looking for some advice about whats worked for you for dating/meeting men.

A bit of background on me I'm 38f(amab) in Calgary, socially transitioned over a decade ago and been on hrt for 20(ish?) Months. I'm very much an androsexual but have had a hard time finding men that actually want to date, as sad as it sounds I've had the most luck on grindr. I've tried a few other apps but most guys that I match with usually unmatched right away(I assume they realize I'm trans). I'm active in queer spaces, but mostly seem to attract sapphics, dating would be much easier if I was into the femmes and thems😅

Also I'm new on this app so I might be a bit clunky in my responses

If any of y’all went through hrt via foria, what were your wait times?

I know it’s private so I assume it’s nothing crazy? But I would hope that getting an appointment isn’t too hard. I’m just curious as to how long you had to wait to get the appointment from the intake to appointment 1 and from appt 1 to getting the prescription. any other information you deem helpful would be nice too!! :)

Name/gender change w/ out of province birth

I have been an Alberta resident since I was less than a year old, but my parents were at school in Sask when I was born. I know I can do the name change here and gender on my ID, but what is the process to get my birth certificate changed with both gender and name? Do I have to do one then the other after the Alberta name change? And can I change my drivers license to male before the birth certificate?

Outsider perspective: are my nipples positioned too low?

Hey Reddit. I’m looking for some perspective from people who don’t know me personally, because I think it would be helpful to get an unbiased opinion.

I’ve been considering getting a revision of my top surgery. Overall I’m pretty happy with my results, but there‘a only one thing that’s been bugging me since my surgery in 2019 (Calgary AB, Canada), and its that I feel like my nipples are too low, especially my left one.

My family thinks I’m overthinking it and that they look completely fine, but I’m curious what an outside perspective would be.

Do my nipples look noticeably low to you, or am I being overly critical? I’m genuinely open to either answer. I’m mostly trying to figure out whether this is something that’s actually noticeable or if it’s just something I’ve fixated on because I know my own body so well.

Thanks in advance!

Edit:

I originally wrote the following in the comments but figured I’d paste it in the body of my post so it comes up right away:

Thanks everyone for the responses! I go to the gym though not as consistently as I’d like lolol life. I also have a poorer mind-muscle connection with my left pec so that’s something I’m going to work on.

My surgery was done by Dr. Temple-Oberle and her fellow at the time (super kind). They didn’t remove and reposition my nipples but made the incisions, performed the double mastectomy, and then connected the remaining tissue and sutured everything together. So my nipples were never completely removed and grafted back on.

I think that probably contributes to them looking more natural but it was my only concern that because they weren’t repositioned, they may have ended up sitting a little too low.

I’m going to see if I can develop a better mind-muscle connection and build up my left pec a bit more, and then go from there. Thanks again everyone for all the feedback!

Looking for Gym Recommendations

Hey everyone, long time lurker first time poster.

I’m 34 in Edmonton and I’ve been on feminizing HRT for 7 months now and the fabled brain fog is starting to lift. I’m finally getting to a place where I actually want to take care of my body after not taking care of it for years since the lockdowns. I’ve gained somewhere around 120lbs, I’m pushing 300 now, and I’m not feeling good about having a hard time bending over to pick stuff up off the floor or feeling like a beached whale whenever my partner and I try to be intimate.

Can anyone suggest a gym, preferably with personal trainers available, that is welcoming of trans folks? Preferably on the West End or Downtown since I don’t have a car right now, but I would prioritize somewhere that’s welcoming of fat butch trans women even if it’s a bit of a trek. I’ve been to a gym exactly once in my life when I was 18 so I have zero clue about what to do or how not to hurt myself.

I live nearest to the Callingwood YMCA, does anyone have any experience there?

Thanks in advance!

Manulife Insurance

Hello! I would like to see if anyone is on the same scenario as mine. My group work insurance covered the top surgery however, it needs to be submitted to AHS and Manulife will pay the rest. I have already scheduled to a private surgeon (which I preferred). But I dont think I will get reimbursement. What should I do?

Can I force AHS to reject my claim? So that I can cover by manulife?

Sorry: to give more info, I didnt know that Alberta will cover it and I already have a surgery date. And now Manulife is telling me that I have to go through the process with the province before they even pay. My surgery is next month September 2026.

Peri w/ Christiaan Schrag!

Hey! Made a post a few months ago asking for results- but never shared mine!

Surgery was done mid-February, had my drains removed SUPER quick which was heaven!!

My nipples are visibly different sizes, but i’m hoping itll continue to improve as it use to be way more obvious :)

I’m not too sure about the puffiness under my pecs at this point, i was told back in february that if i had concerns in a year or so they could do some revision. Ive also been working out more so, maybe that’ll shape things up haha!

If you’re getting surgery done with him you’re in good hands! Highly rec trying to work out your pecs more beforehand so theres a more defined muscle for them to follow :)

my only woe is that one nip perfectly points and the other is kinda flat- wanted to get my nips pierced but may need to get em vertically done if possible haha! retained great sense on my right nip, left one is still coming around at this point.

also fyi, i tend to have atrophic scarring so thats just my body haha!

(But with possibility of more cause I hate body hair) I did sign the forms in "Gender" as "They/them" so im proud of that. I'm just worried about doing my full face....cause of boymoding.... important for my work but I am suppose to he clean shaven everyday... I don't know.. I am dysphoric about all my body hair, even neck hair! Part of me is like once I do my face, there is no more hiding! Help! 🤪
