Trek Scarf: Testing a colour change sloping in the opposite direction, moderately successful! With a line of small red dots?

Unlike the first time I'd tried it, this second attempt at sloping the Tunisian Double-Knit Stitch upwards to the right was quite a lot more successful.

The only drawback (as you can see in the second picture) is the tiny red dots some distance from the actual colour boundary. And while it's not that big an issue, technically, as I likely can cover it up with some surface slip-stitch, I still don't like it.

But I can't argue that the back (third picture) looks fantastic! Guess this is the technique I'll be using when I get to that point!

After all, this is the halfway point, and this was just an experiment to see what I could learn about making the colour change slope in the opposite direction. And since I've proven that I can do this, I get to undo all of this, duplicate the all-black rows I currently have, the redo this diagonal colour change, and essentially repeat the other end of the scarf, mirrored.

All in all, a good amount of work!

Though I'll probably just bask in this experiment's results for the moment.

Unfortunately, having spent a night in the hospital over the weekend hasn't helped my energy levels (merely a properly-sprained wrist, nothing a wrist brace I already have can't help with), so there's additional reason to leave it as-is for the moment. Just gotta get way more rest than my normal... =>.<=

Having trouble identifying last stitch

I posted in here yesterday about my first attempt at Tunisian crochet slanting without actually losing any stitches (thank you to all the responded!!!). I frogged what I was working on and am starting over. I really think my issue is working into the correct spot on the very last stitch. I feel like my stitches don’t look very clean so it’s hard to identify even when watching a tutorial. Are either of these circled sections the stitch I’m supposed to work into at the end?

Does this look normal or have I gone wrong somewhere?

Been (regular) crocheting since January and decided I’d like to try Tunisian crochet. Started working in it today, I’m a handful of rows in and was wondering if the top is meant to look like this? I count my stitches as I go, I haven’t missed or added any so I’m good there but wanted to check if this slight “slant” at the top is normal before I keep going. The bottom end of the hook looks much straighter. TIA!

My Star Trek scarf: Roughly the halfway point. Time for decisions!

I've been in a bit of a "craft slump" lately, but have finally picked this project back up again and have reached a very important point.

Given the way Star Trek uniforms have the colours on their shoulders shaped (sloping up towards the neck, for the most part), ideally the colour changes would be sloping opposite directions on each end of this scarf.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure out how to get the change between colours to slope in the opposite direction in a satisfactory way just yet (fortunately, sloping the end in that way is very easy!), so I have at least two alternative ideas for how to achieve this:

Option 1: Pause here (it's about the halfway point already!) and duplicate this work from the other end, then somehow join them together. In theory, this ought to work fairly well, actually, as it'll have both (identical) sections facing each other "backwards" to each other. I'm pretty sure this means the edge "chains" should line up properly? Though I'm not 100% confident of it.

Option 2: Pause here (this time to experiment) and try out a few options for sloping the colour change in the opposite direction. I did actually try this other direction once, but was hugely disappointed by the effects at the time. Granted, I was still insistent that the results be nearly perfect (which, it turns out, even my first colour change really isn't), so there's a definite possibility that I can make the opposite slope work. Probably after a couple of tries. But worth trying.

I suspect that I need to try Option 2 first, as if that doesn't work I can fall back to Option 1.

Anybody have any pithy words of wisdom for me? =^.^=

Converting patterns ?

I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to kinda convert a knit pattern for Tunisian crochet?

I love my regular knitting but I really want to do more with the Tunisian crochet that’s not just a square or blanket / super thick wearable

I just can’t seem to understand the mechanics of it

I’m trying to learn how to do the knit stitch so I can learn how to do tapestry crochet that way. I have a chart, I have figured out what to do to make the knitting stitch but not when a stitch is made.

When do you add colors? Is it when you pull up loops? When you yarn over pull through two? When is the stitch finished, when you have only the one loop left or when you have all the loops?

I’m pretty sure a row is completed once I only have the one loop left? So I should add colors when I pull up loops. If a row calls for say white and the 4th square in the chart is red - when should I add the color? Pulling through the 3 or 4 time.

I just really wished I could ask someone irl because all the videos just make me confused.

And in the picture, have I completed two rows or two and a half?

Can anyone please explain what I’m doing wrong? 😭 I can’t seem to join the panels correctly!

I’m trying to join my back panel and front panel for this top that I made. I’m really bad at the mattress stitch with the embroidery needle it always looks bad and it’s very hard for me to work with especially with how Tunisian crochet curls. Even when I manage to do it it still looks like in the picture.

I used the slip stitch to join my panels here by putting them side by side going under both Vs and slip stitching but as you can see it looks horrible! I saw other people using the slip stitch on tiktok and it didn’t make a visible seam in the front? What am I doing wrong? Please help! Thank you! (Sorry if my English is messed up)

A stitch like the double stockinette stitch (in knit) but for tunisian crochet for a scarf

Is there any stitch in tunisian crochet that looks like the stockinette stitch in knitting? Bc I think it's really pretty and I like how thick it is and how it looks the same on both sides bc I'm making a scarf for my bf so I want the best :) Thanks in advance!
