Having trouble identifying last stitch

Having trouble identifying last stitch

I posted in here yesterday about my first attempt at Tunisian crochet slanting without actually losing any stitches (thank you to all the responded!!!). I frogged what I was working on and am starting over. I really think my issue is working into the correct spot on the very last stitch. I feel like my stitches don’t look very clean so it’s hard to identify even when watching a tutorial. Are either of these circled sections the stitch I’m supposed to work into at the end?

Does this look normal or have I gone wrong somewhere?

Been (regular) crocheting since January and decided I’d like to try Tunisian crochet. Started working in it today, I’m a handful of rows in and was wondering if the top is meant to look like this? I count my stitches as I go, I haven’t missed or added any so I’m good there but wanted to check if this slight “slant” at the top is normal before I keep going. The bottom end of the hook looks much straighter. TIA!

My stitches twist on the needle and are so tight it’s hard to correct them

I’m extremely new. Like, still-learning-the-knit-stitch new. I have started and frogged attempts so many times but I’m trying not to give up. (I was this way with crochet too so I’m trying to stick it out.) No matter what type of yarn I use, needle size, etc., my stitches tend to get extremely twisted as I work my rows. My tension is also so tight that sometimes I can’t even push the needle down to move the stitch over to the other needle. Any insight/advice is very much appreciated as I’m realllllyyyy not wanting to give up trying knitting like I’ve done before. TIA!

2.5 year old suddenly using sounds/babble in place of words…

My almost 3-year-old (32 months) is typically very good with speech and has hit all her milestones on time. She’s never had a speech delay or anything like that. That being said, over the past several days, she’ll mix in made-up words/sounds/babbling. Like she is still speaking in full sentences as normal, but she’ll also sometimes answer us with a “daaa” or “da-da-da” or “ba-ba-ba”—mostly complete nonsense. Or she’ll fully mumble a word that closely resembles the actual word but is just a slurred or mumbled version. As far as I know, she’s not sick. Hasn’t experienced any significant trauma, no big life changes or stressors. And she’s not even laughing or giggling when she does it so it doesn’t seem like she’s doing it to be funny. Just hoping this is typical toddler nonsense/rebellion and not something to have to look further into 😅

Can’t remember Spanish-language LGBTQ thriller I watched years ago…

I watched a movie several years ago with the such a weird plot/ending and I can’t remember what it was. I swear it took place in Mexico but I suppose it could’ve been somewhere in South America. All that I remember is that two men meet up at night in the street, they go back to one of the mens’ apartment. They talk all night, maybe they have intercourse? Don’t remember. Anyway I think the conversation starts to go left at one point and one of the guys gets the creeps. I remember it ending with him trying to run down the stairs to escape and the other man brutally murdering him. That completely shocked me. I’d say the movie was from anywhere between 2005 and like 2018. I wouldn’t classify as horror but more like drama/thriller.

Anyone experience unknown charges from Squarespace?

I have these monthly charges dating back to January 2025 and idk what they are. (I feel pretty dumb only just noticing.) It’s not my domain charge which is $40/year and it’s not a normal subscription charge, that was $25/month until I canceled in June. I contacted Squarespace support via their live chat and even the agent couldn’t figure out what these charges were so they’re supposed to be contacting me via email. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this or might know where these charges may be stemming from?

How detrimental is a sweetened creamer w/ dirty fasting?

I technically do “dirty fasting” because I do use creamer in my coffee in the morning. I understand black coffee would be better, but enjoying my coffee is more important to me than the like 25 calorie difference and it’s the one thing that helps me get through a fast day. That being said, does it make any difference that I use a sweetened creamer versus if I were to use just plain half & half? One serving of my creamer (which is what I use) is 5g of sugar. I read somewhere that your body just detects sweet things regardless of sugar content levels and that’s what triggers insulin to release, but I am certainly no doctor, no nutritionist, etc., so idk if that is making a difference in my fasting. If it makes no difference, I’ll continue with the sweetened creamer, but if it DOES likely make a difference I’m happy to switch to plain half & half. I just need some kind of creamer in my coffee lol

Anyone else deal with neck pain from looking down to crochet?

I’ve been noticing a lot of pain in my neck, especially near the base of my skull, and it’s been causing what I assume are cervicogenic headaches. Anyone else deal with this and find a workaround/solution? Only thing I can think of is holding my project up but that’s so awkward and tiresome. Maybe I need some kind of personal table to rest my arms on? 😅

Can’t tell if highlighted section applies to my size

I'm very beginner when it comes to both reading patterns and crocheting wearables. I'm following instructions for "size 3" and I cannot tell if that means I skip the section I highlighted in purple or do I also need to do those steps? If I need to do it, can you explain it to me like I'm dumb? To me it reads as essentially slip stitching into each chain space across but that cinches the entire top edge and that's definitely not how it's supposed to look 😅

Please tell me it gets easier 😭🚽

We are about two weeks into potty training our 2.5 year old and it’s so hit or miss. She has peed a handful of times on the potty at home and at daycare but there are several days where she just sits many times and doesn’t go potty. And then as soon as I put a diaper or Pull-Up on her after sitting, she’ll pee or poop in it. She also refuses to let us know when she has a pee or poop feeling, no matter how much we encourage her to do so. We do a reward system and she loves it. She does get excited to sit on the potty, and she’ll often say “I did it!” or “I peed!” and she didn’t. To be fair, we are doing things pretty casually and not really following a particular method, but I’m wondering if maybe she’s not quite ready? Idk. Maybe I’m just not mentally prepared for such lack of progress. Whenever we try to keep her naked from the waist down, she’ll just sit on her portable potty the entire time because I think she’s uncomfortable walking around or sitting on anything else with nothing on, and it makes me feel so bad and I don’t want her to develop a negative relationship with the potty. Any advice or encouragement to keep going is greatly appreciated 😔❤️

Cannot figure out where I pick up in this pattern…

Ok so I’ve done the top section of directions for armhole shaping for size #3, and I believe the section below it is instructions for the other sizes. Do I pick up where I circled in red? It seems like a bunch of the same stuff I already did so I’m kind of confused. I feel like I move on to the “continue in Chart A pattern…” but just looking for some confirmation!

*Hopefully this isn’t giving away too much of a pattern, I don’t want to disrespect the pattern maker!

Is there anything you can put in a toilet that lets you know your kid did in fact pee?

Ok this is probably a weird question, but we’re potty training our 2.5 year old right now. We have a potty that just sits on the ground like the old school ones, and one that attaches to the toilet. Obviously if she pees in the floor potty, we can tell if she peed because we have to dump it out. But when she sits on the toilet attachment, there’s no way of knowing if she actually peed or not unless I try to really listen, because her pee is clear, and she likes to say “I peed!” even when she didn’t. I know there are little toilet fizzies you can use to entice children to go on the big potty, but is there anything that is like pee-activated (lmao) or some kind of hack that I can do to know with certainty that she peed? (Working on getting her to actually be honest about it lol, but until then…)

Anyone ever do an envelope border on a moss stitch blanket?

I had some people on here previously suggest trying an envelope border on my blanket, so I looked up tutorials but they’re mostly demonstrated on mosaic crochet pieces and the side stitches seem to be different. On my moss stitch blanket I chained two before turning on each row so I don’t seem to have perfect V stitches on the edge to insert the hook through the front leg of each one, especially where I tied off my knots. Any suggestions? Wish I had tested it before I tied off and cut all my ends 😩

I’ve been working on this blanket on and off for a bit and decided I wanted to gift it to my MIL for Mother’s Day. Well I only JUST noticed one edge is completely janky even though the other edge seems to be mostly fine. Idk what to do. I’m just exhausted and considering just putting this to the side for a while and not gifting it after all. I was/am planning to add a border but I feel like that will only exacerbate the issue. Any advice welcome 😭

I’m following a YouTube tutorial for a poncho that is basically just a rectangle that you fold in half and then slip stitch it closed up to a certain point, where you would leave a hole for the neck. Before I did the final slip stitching step, I tried it on (with stitch markers holding it closed) and noticed the neck on one side lays awkwardly. Actually, it doesn’t lay at all, which is the problem 😂 mind you this is 100% mercerized cotton that hasn’t been blocked yet. Will blocking help? Or does anyone have any advice on how to make it look not so…weird?
