Should we spring for Fast track or Skypass for Monday 5/25 arrival (2:30pm) and Friday 5/29 departure with a 3 year old?

As the title states is it recommended to secure Fast Track or Skypass for a Monday 5/25 arrival in the afternoon with a toddler? I have read weekdays are a bit better but I wasn’t sure with it being a US holiday week if it that changes things. Would you get departure too?
Also, is Fast Track or Skypass better?
Thanks!

Anyone ever stay at the Ritz?

Hi all. About to book my first trip to the island (longtime Aruba visitor) and likely going to use points to stay at the Ritz in early July. Two questions:

  1. any idea on costs to rent beach biminis on the property?

  2. worth renting a car? Always had one in Aruba as there were great restaurants all over the island. Not sure if that’s the case here.

Thanks!

Beaches resort question: is fishing allowed at the resort

Hi,

We are coming in this weekend for five days. The weather reports seem to indicate that’s it’s going to be windy and cooler than we expected. Our boys have asked if there’s a place to go shore fishing at the Beaches all inclusive resort.

I was thinking of brining some small 3 piece spinning rods and reels to bottom fish. Is this allowed? If so, is there a place to get some simple bait and rigs? I’m unsure what we would be permitted to fly with. We appreciate any intel on this…..

Do not use Hertz Rental

The people at Hertz rental will lie to you for the benefit of overcharging for a rental. Additionally the cars are in horrible third world condition.

Recommendations for June trip!

Hi all! My husband and I are spending our honeymoon at seven stars this June! I’d love to get some recommendations on restaurants and activities and roughly the cost of them (if possible).
Also how much cash do you recommend to bring for a week long trip?
Did anyone opt into the seven stars airport transportation? It’s expensive but I’m wondering if it’s comparable to a taxi, I’m also not opposed to spending extra since it’s our honeymoon.

Thanks in advance!

solo trip

hii!! i am looking to take my first solo trip. i am interested in turks as it is obviously so beautiful and i just need to be there. i am not into night life really and i am not much of a drinker either. i am interested in staying at ocean club west for 4 nights, 5 days and renting a car while i am there (maybe?) i am interested in visiting noahs ark, but other than that i want to lay on the beach and relax. i am curious is anyone can provide any insight on how much i would spend while on the island?

40th birthday solo trip

Woman turning 40 Looking for recommendations for hotels, things to do, and restaurants for a last minute birthday trip. Was supposed to go to Italy but some things fell through. June 2-6/7, with birthday June 3. For hotels I’d love beach front, perhaps not too far from restaurants. I was thinking West Bay Club in Grace Bay.

I’d love to do something special on the 40th itself. I can’t swim but was thinking spa day and/or some kind of excursion. Birthday dinner I was thinking chef table at Ter del Mar.

Any recommendations would be great!

I’m a guy in my 20s, and I’m planning a trip to Turks and Caicos for a wedding in early October. I’m hoping to have a great time and meet other singles. Do you think I’ll be able to find some girls to chat with? The resort I’m staying at is Beaches Resort Turks and Caicos

Finding a taxi at Smith's Reef or after dinner without a cell phone? Possible?

I was hoping to just use on-property WiFi at Sands and skip arranging International cell service if possible. We use Consumer Cellular and we needed like 30-days advance notice to request it and we leave for TCI this week. When we head to Smith's Reef for a daytrip - how are we going to find a cab to take us back to Sand's? do you just flag them down? do you need to have Uber or Lyft app to get a taxi to come to you while you are on Provo?

Airbnb Experiences?

Airbnb Experiences?

My wife and I are planning our tenth anniversary and Turks and Caicos is a leading candidate. I'm intrigued by the idea of getting an Airbnb. There's quite a few options out there that seem to give you a lot for your money, though I'm wondering if the convenience of a hotel may be the way to go.

I'm interested to hear about people's experiences with Airbnb/ VRBO. I'm not really as interested in recommendations as I'm interested in hearing if people were happy with their decision and if you'd do an Airbnb again.

Tell me everything

I’m looking to plan a vacation for my family (2 adults + 14 yr old)

We’re looking for something more private, good food/drinks, good beaches and pool area. My son is really into ornithology - if anyone has experience with birding on the island (ie: birding trips, tours, etc) we’d love to hear all about it.

Grace Bay or Long Bay?

For people who’ve spent time in both Grace Bay and Long Bay, which one did you personally prefer?

Trying to get a feel for the overall vibe of each area before booking a trip.

Am I crazy?

WOC here. Went to Turks recently for a short trip. Previous to arriving it seemed like an island with lots of POC travelers especially from the United States. After leaving, I can say I felt like I was in apartheid South Africa. We stayed at the Grace Bay Club Resort and we were the only black guests on property until day 4 of our trip. We decided to check out Coco Bistro and again the only black people at the restaurant (and this is a standalone restaurant that theoretically natives and tourist alike could go to). The vibe felt incredibly weird too. We thought having lots of Haitians around especially at the GBC would be nice since I am half Haitian but their demeanor towards us was not the best and the service was particularly lacking compared to other Caribbean islands. I’m genuinely confused because online it seemed like a heavily POC friendly place. We went to other restaurants on the island that were recommended and even visited other resorts etc and still the same thing. Did I miss something? It felt particularly discriminatory and the vibe was ailing.

Where to stay

Stuck between ocean club west and the sands . Traveling with the wife and 2 year old so preferably looking to stay beachfront, find it to be better incase you have to go back and forth to room . Dont want to feel as tho I have to take everything anytime I step out to the beach. As far as restaurants and food will more than likely rent a car and step out so food at hotel not a deal breaker . Also looking for place not to be super dated and have a nice pool atleast . Or if anyone has any other suggestions on places to stay without breaking the bank or having to troop it to the beach

10y Wedding Anniversary Trip

Hi Everyone!

My husband and I are planning our 10y wedding anniversary in the beginning November and was wondering if anyone had a review of Ambergris Cay? Or any other resort recommendations?

We really want to just decompress (parents of 3 and high stress career) and enjoy our time together, read, and sit by the pool with a cocktail.

Thanks 😊
