Turks & Caicos! 🇹🇨

We went up to Turks & Caicos with my mom in the end of April, and beginning May. This was Garrett’s first time traveling internationally, my family is Canadian, so I plan on taking him to Canada next year!! I just wanted to share our trip, and say thank you! 🤩💗🧳

Is Long Bay Beach one of the quieter parts of Turks and Caicos?

Really like how peaceful this stretch of Long Bay Beach looks.

For those who know Turks and Caicos well, is Long Bay usually quieter than Grace Bay, or is there another beach you’d choose for a more peaceful day?

Four loko in the grand Turk?

I know it’s a dumb question but I’ve never been to the Turks and Caicos and I’m going in a few months. Me and my girlfriend love four loko and were wondering if four loko is sold in the grand Turk anywhere? Thanks

Taxi airport prices so steep?

I was expecting like $20 or $25. But it was $40 per person. Maybe more depending where you’re going.

And it’s just some community van that can fit a bunch of people. Makes multiple stops at different hotels. Figured with a shared van price would be cheaper.

I know the drives have to be making bank.

Turks and Caicos Excursions

Hi guys,

I’m on somewhat of a tight budget, just paid for an expensive wedding, now paying for an expensive honeymoon at the ritz. Now I want to do a few excursions that won’t cost me so much.

I’m interested in the sunset cruise, kayaking, parasailing (if they have it), that iguana island tour looks fun, and then maybe the shipwreck tour if it’s within the budget.

My wife can’t swim so snorkeling is out of the question.

I also wanted to know if it’s cheaper to book online or over there, I went to Cabo and booked a bunch of excursions there in person and haggled a lot of it.

Also open to any recommendations and must dos on the island 🏝️

Thanks!

Is it worth it to rent a jeep?

My partner and I will be staying at Seven Stars the week after next for seven days… We thoroughly enjoy the beach and pool however I am wondering if it's worth renting a vehicle for a few days to explore other parts of the island.. other beaches, etc. My thought was maybe rent one for three days but wondering if it will add value to the trip?

Honeymoon in September ~5k total budget, Turks preferred. Best resort with amazing beach + food? Can be AI or not

My fiancée and I are looking for a 4-night honeymoon from September 15–19, flying out of EWR.

Our total budget is around $5,000 for BOTH of us, ideally including flights, hotel, food and drinks. We’re open to either all-inclusive or a regular hotel as long as the total cost realistically stays around that range.

Our biggest priorities are:

• Beautiful crystal-clear turquoise water and white sand
• Very little/no sargassum or seaweed
• Excellent food
• Nice, upscale/luxury rooms and resort
• Romantic/honeymoon atmosphere
• Adults-only or at least not overly kid/family-oriented would be preferred (not hard line)
• We don't care much about nightlife or partying

Turks & Caicos is our first choice because we love the look of Grace Bay. We looked at Beaches, but we're worried it may feel too family/kid-oriented for a honeymoon. We’ve also looked at Wymara, Seven Stars, Grace Bay Club, etc., but once food and drinks are added I'm not sure what is realistic within our total budget....

For anyone who has done Turks recently, what would you recommend for this budget? And if non-AI, roughly how much did you actually spend per day for two people on food/drinks?

Also open to another Caribbean island if there's somewhere that fits this better, but we’ve already been to Aruba.

Thanks!

- Struggling fiance

Dream Villas Provo

I’m planning on taking my family of five with three young kids to Turks and Caicos in December. We usually like more quiet privacy than large resorts that are constantly packed. When looking through listings we found the dream villas in Provo: https://www.expedia.com/Providenciales-Hotels-Dream-Villas-Provo.h96368651.Hotel-Information

The reviews are mostly great, but a few guests expressed concerns about the safety of the surrounding area and a few guests also mentioned cleanliness issues even though that seemed relatively rare. Does anyone have any experience with this property and the surrounding area? Specifically, do you think this is a safe spot to bring a family with young kids or should I just go to one of the bigger hotel chains? Thanks!

Expat Life in T&c

Hi everyone,

I’m considering accepting a job offer in Turks and Caicos. Will move with my family, and I’m trying to get a realistic idea of the monthly cost of living for 3 people.

Roughly how much should we budget per month for:

  • Groceries / supermarket shopping
  • Internet and mobile phones
  • Electricity and water
  • Rent for a decent 2-bedroom apartment or house
  • Any other common expat expenses

Also, what would you consider a comfortable monthly household income for a family of 3 if we’d like to save around $3,000–$3,500 USD per month after all expenses?

I’d really appreciate recent, real-life estimates from people currently living there. Thanks!

Nightlife recs & safety check

Hi! Me and my boyfriend are staying near turtle cove marina for the week and are really craving clubbing and dancing. We had a boat guide give us a bunch of local recommendations but forgot to write them down and no longer remember!

I also have checked through this sub a bit and see some people from about a year ago warning about safety. Opinions on cautious tourists trying to experience a local club? And just location recommendations for us to research regardless please! Ty ty :) 💗

Turks and Caicos airport Fast Pass for arrivals question

I have a question about Airport Fast Track on arrival - we are flying Saturday to Saturday. I have heard that sometimes there is a large line up outside of the airport on the Tarmac. My question is if you purchase Fast Track can you bypass that exterior line? Or will people frown on you thinking that you are queue jumping. My understanding is that you meet the fast pass rep once you are inside the airport.

Has anyone here gotten married in Turks?

Considering a destination wedding in Grace Bay. Wondering what we are in for as far as requirements. I have inquired with a couple of resorts and have gotten a lot of mixed information.
