I used to study at Skyline (now Horizon) because it was in University City, Sharjah. It was close to my home, the area was nice, and overall it was just super convenient.

Then out of nowhere, they told us the campus was shutting down because of a lease issue. We were basically told we'd have to transfer to another university like the University of Sharjah or Al Qasimia. Skyline said that if we transferred to the University of Sharjah, they'd arrange everything using our existing tuition fees.

So I went to the university to ask what I needed to do, and honestly the staff acted like I was the reason the campus was closing 💀. I completed all the transfer procedures, paid AED 3,000 for the transfer fee to the University of Sharjah, and another AED 100 for the required medical test.

Then suddenly Skyline announced they got approval to reopen in Ajman instead. At that point they told us our only options were either:

• continue with Skyline in Ajman, or
• pay the FULL tuition ourselves if we still wanted to transfer to the University of Sharjah.

Like... what?? We had already gone through the whole transfer process because of THEIR closure. It genuinely felt like we were trapped.

We then had to move to the Ajman campus, which is around a 45-minute drive from my house. On top of that, we lost about six months while they were sorting everything out, so half our academic year was basically wasted.

When the Ajman campus finally opened, it was honestly disappointing. It felt cramped, there was barely any parking, no space to move around, and it looked more like a small institute than a university. Our old campus had a gym, stadium, and much better facilities. Despite giving us way less, they still charged the exact same tuition. We're talking over AED 200,000+ in tuition fees.

The student services department made everything worse. They were rude most of the time and didn't seem to care about the stress students were dealing with. They also make students pay tuition in advance before allowing access to class schedules. Even after paying, the schedules sometimes had missing courses or terrible timings that created even more problems.

To make things worse, the student portal even went down the day before exams, so students couldn't access important information when they needed it the most.

does anyone know of any online sat classes or a female tutor who doesn't charge too much? why do all sat tutors cost almost more than the exam itself? i only need tutoring for a month.

Most of the people who watch anime, watch only the big ones. Most of my classmates at school, talk about Demon Slayer, JJK, Naruto, One Piece, or Blue Lock, I don't get why no one can watch Gintama, or any other anime, everyone is so boring, like why don't you watch the dozens of other series on Netflix? What do y'all think about this? I can't mention the amount of carpers too....

i'm already SOOOOOOOO bored holy, i should probably just start locking in and studying cuz 12th grd how fun, but LIKENRTJBGURTGUIRUIGHRIGT IM JUST TOO LAZY RN, there's so many things to watch but it just feels so monotonous, and idk a lot of people where i live yet (i moved last dec, i know people, but its not like people i can randomly hit up to rant and walk w me in the park or smt) so not like i can go out here with friends either

i have a bunch of random interests, unfortunately i dont play any games, i watch anime, all kinds - slice of life, bl, stuff like jjk and mha; i read a lot (i used to, i should probably pick that up again, i have a bunch of books lying around like song of achilles; i listen to a bunch of different genres of music, i like debating and going to muns

Hey everyone! I just joined Amity University Dubai, and I've been seeing people say the vibe there is kinda weird 😭 Is that actually true, or are people just exaggerating?

And before anyone says, "Just go to another uni," I've already taken admission into the 5-year Law program. Most other universities here don't offer a 5-year law degree, and I also need a degree that's recognized by the Indian government, so switching isn't really an option.
