Vegan Dinner Diaries

I’ve seen so many communities for dinner diaries, so thought vegans should have one for themselves because tbvh I’m often disgusted/ disheartened by meat/dairy food posts in those subReddits.

I hope we can make this subReddit super active! Feel free to DM me if you’d like to suggest something that would help make this sub better.

Looking forward to hear your stories 💖

In the earliest memory I have of being alive, my dad called me "politically correct"

food: air fried chickpeas, microwaved broccoli, pita bread and garlic sauce

My dad would do this thing where whenever my mom did anything "stupid" he would approach my sister and me, explain the situation in very simple terms and then ask us "don't you think it's just a little bit stupid to do [insert whatever our mom did here]?"

I didn't want to call my mom an idiot, but I was also too scared to oppose my dad, so I said something like "I don't have enough contextual information to form an opinion on this," after which he called me "politically correct" and started bullying me about my response. But at least he didn't start shouting at me, so I guess that's a win?

All this to say that I was born to be woke 💅✨

Is anybody learning any new languages?

I love learning languages because they really sort of unlock a new way of thinking yk!!! Especially if you try and learn one from each continent 😂

I’ve been studying Japanese here and there for some time, enough to be conversational. Now I’m thinking to learn Spanish alongside it. I’m confused between Spanish and French tbh but I really like how Spanish sounds, is also relatively easy so I’m probably gonna go ahead w. And ofc there’s also a lot of movies/ songs etc. to help with immersion.

What about you guys?

Have you ever had a paranormal encounter?

Someone in my extended family was possessed, I saw it in person many times but always tried to make sense of it by thinking it’s probably a psychological disorder or something.

Although now I’m pretty sure it was real. That person is doing better after a lot many religious remedies etc. but it still keeps me wondering what actually might’ve happened?

I’ve never seen a ‘spirit’ or ghost irl how people mention but somewhere I do believe metaphysical forms exist. Looking forward to hearing your experiences!

Food : Pullav

Ps I’ve finally learned to use chopsticks 🥢😎

Still in the middle of unpacking from a move

When does it end? I should’ve declutterred before moving but everything went by so fast. We moved to a smaller place and it’s a little difficult adjusting. Why do I have so many art equipment and office supplies? I just want to do my basic everyday maintenance chores but it feels like I can’t keep up until the house is in order.

Chinese fried chicken (yulinchi) in the front and Korean style fried chicken (yangnyeom chicken) in the back. Used soy chunks as the base and deep fried then covered in the sauce. Ate with white rice.

All from scratch prep

Including pickled onions, I love picking things these days. Trying a new relationship out w someone who is trying to go vegan for me. Still kinda want to be around others who are on a level like me, but that means traveling to a neighboring city's activism group. I need to do it lol

Been thinking about quitting processed sugar completely

I’ve been thinking to lock in till Christmas. I turned vegan this year and have already lost a significant amount of weight which has motivated me so much to become healthier.

Sugar is the only thing I find myself struggling with at the moment. It’s gotten to a point where I NEED something sweet after every meal. I’ll replace that with fruits for now and after Christmas, I want to switch to coconut sugar/ dates etc. but that too in moderation.

I’ve tried doing this before and it legit feels like a drug withdrawal or something 😭 I’m just mentally preparing myself for the mood crashes due to my hectic schedule.

Anyone who’s doing the same? Or thinking to?
