Edmark Valoran, the Manticore Knight
This is the mini that sold me on Darkwater. I put in some extra effort on him, definitely open to comments and what I can improve on!

Third time trying act 1 with my brother. We’re getting completely destroyed every time, even picking the missions and avoiding the ones that got us.
- first try we end up with the ones that buffs every enemy each time we kill one, stacking. The last ones are pretty much impossible to kill.
- second try we end up with the same enemies running away, by the end of round 1/beginning of round 2
- some missions don’t make any sense…
Help!
Totally give this game an "A"
I got Dark Water for Christmas, painted them all by March. Then painted some more WH40k things. I got around to playing Dark Water 3 weeks ago. Playing with wife and son. We are having a blast. This game is fantastic. Of course I had read this that and the other, lots of hate on YouTube. Its fun. Bottom line spent hours painting. Will spend hours playing.
Our first run through we died in ACT 1. It was silly. We are injured and one scenario into ACT 3 now.
I just wanted to report that it is a lot of fun. Easy rules. The characters are fun. The loot is fun, the puzzles and quests are quirky and fun. Its my first WHQ game, really any game of this type.
I had D&D and tried to play with my kids who are just a bit too young, they bickered and killed each other. A campaign with no DM puts the kind of guardrails I needed on a game like this. Who knows, maybe we will get crazy and play Gloomhaven.
I have been intimidated by the many amazing paintjobs on this guy's wings up until now. Great news for anyone else who is hesitant: I actually banged this out in maybe 20 minutes and it was extremely easy. I picked six colors of Speedpaint, sticking to transparent ones, and slapped it on there. It takes just a tiny bit of forward planning, figure out how many you're going to blend through on a given wing segment.
Then just slap them on and blend a little.
Dry thoroughly with a hair dryer (doesn't take long, speedpaint dries fast anyway) then move on to the next wing segment.
Remember, if you have speedpaint 1.0, the reactivation "problem" just means blending is really easy.
I'm fairly proud of this, but mostly relieved that it turned out okay without too much effort.
Stay dangerous, sibs.
I still have some cleanup left to do on some of them but I'm happy with how these have turned out so far!
Me and my party are very confused by Belga. It specifies when she moves she moves as far from the last player who took a turn as possible. She also uses Advance at the start of each enemy turn.
If she were next to a player, however, Advance would turn into Quick Attack. Would Belga's rule to move away from players override the Quick Attack rule of Advance?
God bless
Surely Darkwater will get a boxed expansion sooner or later? Right? 😵
I mean the White Dwarf content was aight and all but I was hoping for something more. I spent decent change on this game and it's actually fun to play.
