I'm Raúl Jiménez, Ask Me Anything!

I'm a striker for Premier League club Fulham and the Mexico national team.

I joined Fulham in 2023 after a five-year spell at fellow Premier League side, Wolves. I came through the youth system at Club América and have also played for big European sides, Atletico Madrid and Benfica.

I've played for Mexico 123 times so far, scoring 44 goals, winning four tournaments and featuring in the last three World Cups. Ahead of this summer’s World Cup hosted in Mexico, Canada and USA, I've been listed in the preliminary squad.

I'm hoping to get through as many questions as possible, so please try and get your questions in before 9AM BST on Thursday. Ask Me Anything!

If we want to move forward, nostalgia is not the way.

If the rumours are true, potentially signing former players like Jimenez, then am I the only one who thinks that this would be a mistake?

What we actually need is young, vibrant and energetic players who can get us back into the top flight again. Not older players who we give a pass to because of nostalgia.

Raul was once a great player Wolves, and I share some of the nostalgia that his and Roman's presence brought last Sunday. However, Raul can't play as many games due to his age and inam unsure he can even play a full 90 minutes. So with that in mind, wouldn't it be way more sensible to go with fresh talent, and if we do have to bring in an older player for experience, we do so with players that have experience across different competitions in Europe that still have at least several years left in them?

We achieved this when we brought in Moutinho, still having a few years left in him to our benefit. Can we realistically say the same for either Raul, or even Saiss, if he was available to sign?

Reports suggesting Tolu Arokodare could leave this summer

Looks like the summer rebuild might already be starting. Reports yesterday suggested Wolves are open to letting Arokodare leave this summer, potentially on loan, only a year after signing him from Genk. To be fair, 3 goals in 28 appearances tells its own story, and the adjustment to English football has looked really tough for him, although the lack of creativity around him definitely hasn’t helped either. With relegation forcing a financial reset, it’s disappointing things haven’t worked out so far. Would you give him a loan move to rebuild confidence, or just move him on permanently if the right offer came in?

We start next season 22nd!

Rare for us, we won't be alphabetically bottom as Wrexham are in the division.

And... Southampton are due to start on -4 after spygate so in what must be an almost first, we're not even second from bottom at the start of the season!

Where is the problem? Wolves or Premier League or both?

So many former wolves players in the Portugal WC squad that were considered failures at our club (Trincao, Vitinha, Guedes). Were they just not the right fit for the club at their level of development or did we not give them a good enough chance. Or were they just not ready for the premier league?

I can’t help but feel there’s been so many missed opportunities for decent players that we could have developed, to continue our decent league form and sell them at a higher price like we did with Neves, Jota, Neto, Cunha etc.

Liam Keen suggesting Jimenez is in talks to re-join Wolves next season

30 goals contributions across the last 2 seasons, i'd take him in a heartbeat

Although he does say its early stage at the moment, it'd be a great signing i reckon

We want to try to play good. For the fans

This is the front page of the Wolves website today. Someone at Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club read that quote, decided it captured something worth sharing, placed it on the front page of the official website, and published it as the headline communication to the fanbase in the final week of a relegated season.

Nobody in the chain said "perhaps we find a different quote?." "Perhaps we paraphrase? Perhaps we do not lead with a player expressing a desire to attempt to play adequately as the primary message to supporters who have just watched their team finish bottom of the Premier League for the third time."

That is not Bellegarde's failure. English is not his first language, the sentiment is genuine, the intent is clear. Benefit of the doubt entirely warranted. What this is is an institution so comprehensively hollowed out that basic editorial judgement has also been relegated. The quote is almost philosophical in its accidental honesty. After everything this finding-new-levels-below-rock-bottom-season has vomited up, this is the final painful dry wretchings. A Haitian midfielder who wants to try to play good. For the fans.
