3rd Party Sculpts

Do many people use third party sculpts for their Old World armies?

I want to get (back) into it, but I’m too used to AoS level sculpts and so I’m thinking of hunting down some appropriate STL’s to start an Empire or Dogs of War army…

Old World Weekly Meta Round Up!

Interested in what's done well this week? Join me as I look at some quick top down stats, and pick out the interesting lists that succeeded this weekend!

Episode 1 has 2 Chaos Daemon event wins in a weekend, which is (as far as I can tell) the only time it's happened since the game launched over 2 years ago!

Nuln steamtank

Finally finished the biggest model of the starter kit, the steamtank! I went for my own colour scheme since I didn't find any references I particularly liked. First time experimenting with making smoke aswell, turned out better then I expected (luckily)!

The Mysthaven Enclave Kickstarter just went live, wizard terrain with fully detailed interiors and 5e lore cards [OC]

For anyone who saw my post last week, it's live. Multi-level towers and sanctums with furnished interiors, built for actual play rather than just display.

50% off for the whole campaign. Link in the comments.

Reikland Knights and General

I bought these demigryph knights when it was announced that Warhammer Fantasy was ending. So happy to finally finish them. These are for a campaign being run by my FLGS

Skaven: Ambushing Screaming Bell

The horrible-obnoxious idea described in the title came in my brain and I cannot take it out from there.
A Screaming Bell can join a clanrats unit, the clanrat unit can take a warpgrinder, the warpgrinder gives Ambushers special rule, without mentioning infantry units only.

I'm ready to take the risk to have a costly Grey Seer appearing late in the game, just to see the face of my enemy when I bring the 40 clanrats with Screaming Bell and Grey Seer right behind them or on the flanks, ruining all their plans. I would play Hallowed by the name of Iron Maiden as soon as my dice makes a 4+ for the reinforcement.

Please indicate me if there is, purely rules side, a flaw somewhere. (I completely agree this is probably tactically not a good move but it would be funny once)

How to deal with levies and other feigned flight units

Hi

After seeing a couple of armies that spam levies, fire and flee, and Feigned flight, I'm trying to think what are the counter measures that could be taken in general.

I mostly play with a friend that plays wood elves, and so far I can only do 2 things: use some claw positioning to catch their unit when they run away or make then run (not usable if they deploy way more units than me or I didn't bring enough speed to catch them) the other thing is to try to make them flee with a terror unit, and there are not many units that can be bring inside the same army.

I was thinking that a punchy ambusher unit could also do the work

Or have an army that relies heavily on random movers. The problem with this type of strategy is the same as fire and flee and reserve move rules, making the game non interactive and boring... But I guess I'm talking about winning not having fun with my questions

I have an Orc&Goblin army and I'm building an Empire of Man one, but I'm more interested in a general solution that many armies could apply

Question Regarding Resurrecting the Fallen and Intervening Models

Had this come up in a couple of games recently and wanted to gauge how people have been ruling/playing Resurrecting the Fallen and intervening models (either yours or the opponent's).

If you cite the "resurrected models can never displace other models" clause from the Google summary, that is a ruling from Warhammer Armies Project.

As I understand it, your own models could prevent you from resurrecting. If the unit you are targeting with IoN or Arise already has a rank beyond the first, you must return models to match the width of the front rank, then continue to the next subsequent rank and so on. If the base of any of your other models would intervene, then you may not resurrect any more models in said unit.

Instances when enemy units may stop Resurrecting the Fallen is where I've been experiencing ambiguity:

If a unit targeted by IoN/Arise is already engaged in combat, but there is an unengaged enemy unit in its flank or rear, would the resurrected models cause an instance of Accidental Contact?

The above scenario, but the unit being resurrected is not engaged in combat. Would this cause Accidental Contact?

If the remaining models in a unit are below the minimum required for a rank (below 4 or 5 models depending on unit type) and there are enemy models in base contact on each of the unit's flanks, are you able to Resurrect the Fallen? If so, how are the resurrected models placed?

Would appreciate any thoughts, rulings, and answers. If possible, please cite any rulings.
