It wasn't created to be taken seriously

It is evident that the window scene was created as a dramatic effect for the end of the mid-season and to close that part somewhat intensely, as Jenna's interview on Netflix says. Just like when she excitedly said that Wednesday would get her ass kicked that season.

Hunter also mentioned that if Tyler had wanted to kill her he would have used his claws, but instead he just threw her and that's something 🤣🤣 obviously there is black humor and this is a show of that type of comedy.

In addition to this there are statements of the heridad as souvenirs or the coma as the perfect vacation.

It is never taken seriously by the production and, most importantly, by the series itself. Wednesday has no after-effects (apart from Weems) and at no time does her skull break, because a few stitches would not be enough to heal that. She doesn't position herself as a victim because of it and no one else seems to care that it happened.

As the tweet says, Wednesday is likely to be more hurt by the thought of losing to Tyler than the fall.

I’m obsessed that Hunter took Joy (and his mom) to the Evil Dead premiere 😍🥹

For all the drama on social media about there being supposed drama between members of the cast, these two are just living their best drama-free bestie lives

“Where’s Wednesday” 🏃🏼‍➡️

The wednesday fandom is dominated heavily by shipping, especially during gaps between seasons. Whether you’re a weyler (myself) or a wenclair I can’t help but notice that both sides heavily talk about the co-component of their respected ships. Obviously with weyler Tyler is spoken of heavily and as for wenclairs the central talking point is usually Enid (from what I’ve seen). I’ve been feeling recently that Wednesday sometimes seems to get lost in it all.

Was wondering if any others had the same view or if I’m just being a bit dim 😂🤎🌼

Last day to vote for Jenna and the show at the Gold Derby Awards

If you make a Gold Derby account (it’s free and easy) you can vote for the show to be nominated at these awards in several categories. Voting closes at 9PM, so don’t wait to vote if you want to help out.

I remember Jenna wasn’t nominated her for Season 1 when she got nominated everywhere else, and it would be cool to see that amended this time.

Unfortunately, Emma Myers isn’t eligible to be voted for here. Their eligible contenders largely reflect who’s been submitted for Emmy consideration, and Netflix strangely isn’t submitting her.

Common misconceptions about Tyler Galpin

Hi guys, hope you’re doing well, basically I just wanted to make a post explaining some things about one of my favourite characters, Tyler. 🖤

The first one is some people think Tyler is far older than Wednesday (due to him working in the weathervane on weekends and evenings), but he is said to be 16 in the script, has a school bag, and goes to the same school as his former friend Lucas. Tyler is 16, and Wednesday is 15 going on 16 during season 1.

In terms of grounds for hating Tyler, I completely understand thinking he’s evil because of the window scene when he’s going out of his mind (psychosis) without a master (at least we have had no clarification on what went on there but Jenna said she and Burton thought that would be funny), but otherwise he was being controlled.

The only people TYLER killed, were Laurel (who would have controlled him again and forced him to kill), and the assassin sent after him (and the rest of the escaped outcast experiments). Two people in self defence. The rest he would not have killed otherwise; he had no autonomy or control.

Did he assault Xavier, and was he friends with outcast hating bullies? Yes. It was said that when he was 14 he assaulted Xavier and was sent to bootcamp, and came back reformed, and also soft (according to his former friends). Tyler still had some prejudices against Nevermore students specifically, who he labelled as entitled, but he immediately was fine with outcast Wednesday and defended her twice against his former friends, and unwittingly but instinctually protected her against Rowan in Hyde form, the writers and actors confirmed this was BEFORE he knew he was a Hyde and knew of Laurel’s plan. Therefore there is evidence that he is not an outcast hating individual, though when learning about his mother, and that Hydes are outcasted from Nevermore, he likely did feel anger or hatred for those in charge.

“He is a willing participant”, many people took this as though he had a choice in the matter, but in Laurel’s notes shown on screen, that is not the case. The whole point is that the drugs and method’s Laurel use FORCE the Hyde’s agenda to become their master’s. The drugs specifically hijack the individuals mind and they lose all autonomy and eventually, individuality; the Hyde is just an extension of Laurel until his time spent in Willow Hill where it is stated that their separation (and therefore absence of drug inducement) broke their bond.

Tyler also was able to do things he wanted, as long as they did not contradict his masters orders, he is able to choose to go about his day and be friends (and more) with Wednesday, it’s just he can’t go against his masters orders unless the bond is broken. This is why he could do nothing in the skull tree scene (Hunter said it was played this way), but could once his mother and Isaac tried to take away his Hyde.

Laurel’s original plan was to get close to Wednesday herself, she never could have predicted that Wednesday would go to the weathervane and develop a bond with Tyler, but she used it and leant into it when she discovered them, and realised she was not able to get close to Wednesday.

Tyler easily could have killed Enid within seconds while going out of his mind, but he didn’t, he sent a threatening note to Wednesday so she would be sure to meet him, when he saw Enid he initially asked where Wednesday was as that was who he was seeking, when Wednesday doesn’t show herself but he senses her presence, he then goes towards Enid to try and lure her out (Enid was being used as “bait” by both although with Wednesday it was Enid’s own choice and she had Wednesday’s full support and protection). When the others were provoking Tyler so he would change into his Hyde, he warned them not to in a distressed manner, at least indicating that he had little to no control over his Hyde even while being masterless. So he is a dark person, there’s no denying that, he was threatening, but not intending to be a murderer.

Basically we don’t know much about the REAL Tyler yet, as far as we know he has darkness in him, he’s had so much darkness in his life, is not all sunshine and cuddles, but as to whether or not he is evil, I guess we’ll have to find out in s3.

Pretty much all of this was in the show or said by actors and writers.

If you feel you’ve seen this post before, you’re not going crazy, it was posted on another sub but unfortunately was taken down, I will write in the comments previous people’s responses
