I’m an incoming freshman, and there’s been a bed lofting form being passed around.
Does anyone know if it’s legit? I was able to get in through my personal account, which seems weird given that i’ve had to sign into my wellesley account to access anything else.
I was going to fill it out tonight since my shelves came so I can see how tall i want it, but it says that the form is closed now.
hey! i'm an incoming freshman hoping to continue playing my instrument at Wellesley. i took the music theory placement exam and filled out the questionnaire, but i am in no way a musical prodigy and i felt like my music theory knowledge was lacking. i have a bunch of questions, and i'd be grateful if you could answer any!
how accessible are music lessons, and how stressful can they be, if at all?
do i need to take a music-related class for each semester i take lessons?
how hard is it to get into a practice room?
how manageable is it doing student orgs like chamber music society, bluejazz, and the brandeis wellesley orchestra as a non-music major?
p.s. if you're an incoming freshman in the same boat i'd love to chat :)
Hi all! I'm a rising senior and I just took the self-guided tour of campus and lovedddd it. It was gorgeous and the school is very strong academically with a variety of programs I'd be interested in. Also, I'm a big fan of the proximity to Boston while still having a secluded campus vibe. However, since it's summer and I didn't speak to anyone on campus, I got essentially no feel for what W students are like. I went to an all-girls boarding school for a year and loved the experience, but I wonder if that environment might feel stifling in college. Also, are students happy? Do they have fun?
All in all, what defines the community and what drew you to Wellesley?
Thanks for any info!
Is anyone aware of the height a lofted bed would be at? Trying to purchase under bed storage that will fit and I’m assuming I can loft my bed, however I’m only 5’3” so I don’t want to loft it too tremendously high! Thanks!!
Exactly what the title says. How do u find them? How do u get in? What are things u should know beforehand? I saw online that MIT frats are really hard to get into. I'm an incoming freshman (obvi), and I just wanted to know what I should know about going to local frats and what the party scene is like on campus as well...
I’ve never had a laptop and I really don’t want to have to buy one for college. I literally just got my iPad a new case and functions similarly to a full laptop. Is it genuinely required, or is an iPad sufficient?
I’m an incoming freshman at Wellesley, and I’m trying to decide if buying an iPad is actually worth it.
I’ve always taken notes in notebooks, and they work fine for me, but it seems like everyone online says an iPad is a must-have for college. For those of you who have used both, do you think an iPad genuinely improved your note-taking and studying, or are notebooks just as effective?
Most of my classes will be STEM-related, so if that makes a difference, I’d love to hear your experience. I don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars if it’s not actually necessary.
Thanks!
Hii so I'm a senior currently trying to figure out how competitive my application truly is.
I am pretty worried about my ACT score (retaking aiming with some confidence in a 34) and my ECs (which are not super consistent because of life TM)
Hook: I have moved 3 times during high school. First to get out of my abusive parents home, then because I was kicked out of my the family members house whom I was staying with. I now live with a family member but am technically an "Unaccompanied/Homeless Minor" because I do not have an adult who supports me psychologically or financially.
I also developed a chronic illness in 9th grade that made ECs my first two years of high school impossible. I have gotten much better, and have been trying to make up for it!
Also (x3) I lived in a rural location in the second household (second semester freshman year to end of junior year) and had very limited opportunities + had neglectful/somewhat abusive situation at home.
All my circumstances will be explained, and most directly relate to my passions and things I want to do to help others in similar situations to myself. (I.e. I want to be a physician and public health advocate)
Colleges Im Looking At
Smith (dream)
Wellesley
Bryn Mawr
Mount Holyoke
UGA (in state)
GT (in state)

(8 week summer program, ~7 hours a week) [Note: Not sure how I feel about this. Felt like I learned a lot and I applied when I was living in a rural town w/no car so limited opportunity outside virtual stuff, but it was not super selective]

- Studied Urdu/Hindi for 4 years
Letters of rec will be strong from AP Lang and AP Physics teacher, and maybe from another teacher in Science.
Would love input from others who got into Smith/Wellesley on my chances/what I can do to improve!
I am a student ranking colleges for the Questbridge National College Match looking to gather first hand experiences on the colleges i'm considering!
Type of student: I'm not interested in Greek life, would love a nice outdoors, quirky, and authentic social scene with friends I can hangout with regularly. I'm a hard worker but value relaxation on certain days. I want liberty/freedom regarding my academics despite knowing I'm going to be premed because I have many passions. I want to have as many friends/connections as possible and gain a good community.
