West Hollywood Launches E-Bike Incentive Program Offering Free Electric Bicycles to Residents - WeHo Times

The City of West Hollywood has launched a new incentive program that will provide up to 50 residents with vouchers covering the full cost of an electric bicycle, part of an effort to reduce car trips and advance the city’s climate action goals.

Applications will be accepted through Aug. 31, 2026. The program is open to West Hollywood residents age 18 and older, with 50 recipients to be selected through a random lottery expected to take place in early September. Residents from low- to moderate-income households will receive priority.

The vouchers can be redeemed at Bike Shop LA, a West Hollywood retailer participating in the program. In addition to covering the full purchase price of an eligible e-bike, each voucher includes bicycle maintenance for the duration of the participant’s involvement in the program.

Eligible bicycles include commuter, cruiser, cargo and compact folding e-bike models.

I’m moving to West Hollywood from Santa Monica! Any advice?

I’m originally from Houston, Texas. I needed a change of scenery and a breath of fresh air, and WeHo seemed to be a good fit for me. I’ll be living right on Santa Monica, anyone got any tips when it comes to navigating the neighborhood, safety, or things to do? I really appreciate any insight! Moving officially at the end of the month 😊

Live discussion with Councilmember Chelsea Byers about WeHo’s Flock cameras

Hi neighbors. I’m Audrey, a West Hollywood resident and independent journalist covering data sovereignty. Some of you may have seen my public comment before Council approved the revised Flock Safety agreement. I raised several discrepancies between the protections described in the staff report and the language of the contract itself. Councilmember Chelsea Byers was the only one who directly asked staff to address those concerns.

I wanted to share that tonight, she is joining me live to continue that conversation. We’ll discuss what West Hollywood approved, who can access ALPR data, what happens after another agency receives it, why Los Angeles stopped using Flock while negotiating stronger terms, and what protections residents can still request. If you’s like to join us, it begins at 5 PM Pacific. You can also leave questions you would like us to address.

Eagle /Alternative Type Gays in Weho?

Any spaces and places in Weho that cater to the alterna-gay, bear, leather adjacent scene? It seems like most venues if not all here are geard toward the ken doll, hyper manicured gay demographic.

Heading out to Silver Lake to the eagle is a bit of a hassle and im not just talking about night life. Am i looking in the wrong places or did i just choose the wrong neighborhood?

Does anyone remember Peanuts Nightclub?

It was on Santa Monica Blvd. I think it closed around 2002. What kind of place was it before it closed? What do you remember about your experiences there? Thanks.

I was pickpocketed last night around 3 AM at Beaches Tropicana. Wondering if something similar has happened to anyone else?

Any advice on what to do - is there any chance I could get it back?

Queen Violet is leaving West Hollywood after 5 years.

This restaurant was discussed on Reddit last week. It is closing and relocating at the end of this month.

https://www.reddit.com/r/WestHollywood/comments/1vk7fro/this_restaurant_is_is_real_trouble/

The popular Asian fusion restaurant at 8543 Santa Monica Blvd. has announced that Aug. 31 will be its final day of business. They first opened their doors in the fall of 2021.

A sign posted at the restaurant thanks customers for sticking with Queen Violet through the years and hints that the closure will bring a new beginning.

“To Our Queen Violet Family,” the sign reads. “Thank you for your love and support over the past 5+ years. We’re so grateful to have you with us as we begin our new journey.”

That new journey already has a name: BKK TABLE.

The restaurant directs customers to its new location at 8101 1/2 Beverly Blvd. in Los Angeles, where the business is continuing under the new name. BKK TABLE is also available for delivery through Uber Eats and DoorDash.

It remains unclear exactly why Queen Violet is closing its West Hollywood location. The restaurant was previously put on the market, with the 2,600-square-foot space listed for sale in January 2025. The listing offered a glimpse at what made the location attractive to potential new operators.

The second-generation restaurant space includes roughly 1,300 square feet of interior space and another 1,300 square feet of courtyard seating. Its French colonial-inspired design and outdoor patio gave Queen Violet a distinctive presence along Santa Monica Boulevard.

The restaurant is also surrounded by some of the city’s biggest names in retail, fitness and food, sitting across from Erewhon, Shake Shack and John Reed Fitness.

The previous listing advertised an asking price of $255,000, a Type 41 beer-and-wine license and a monthly rental rate of $13,000. The space was described as fully built out and ready for another restaurant or retail operator, with permitted hours from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

Whether the closure is related to the property being marketed for sale or sublease remains unknown.

Aug. 31 is the last day.

🎤 Welcome to the world’s tiniest reality show… “Keeping Up With the Kittens.” 🎬

Meet the cast:

🎭 One thinks every cardboard box is a luxury penthouse.
🍗 One is convinced every meal is their last.
🏃 One has unlimited zoomies powered by absolutely nothing.
👀 And one is the self-appointed supervisor who silently judges everyone’s life choices.

Together, they’re a nonstop comedy show filled with purrs, wrestling matches, surprise acrobatics, and enough entertainment to cancel your Netflix subscription.

These adorable little goofballs are looking for their forever families! They’d love to be adopted with a sibling for built-in fun (but it’s not required).

Warning: Side effects may include uncontrollable smiling, constant laughter, and finding yourself talking to tiny cats in a baby voice. 😹❤️

$75 adoption fee includes immunizations, spay/neuter, and microchip

If interested, please fill out adoption application at savinggracefl.org

Seeking suggestions where to work in weho as a under experienced 20 year old with physical health limitations (cant lift over 5 pounds due to back injury).

(IK this post isnt really related to subreddit just rolling the dice here.)

Im in my 20s and worked in a restaurant in WeHo for 2 years alongside doing inventory and scheduling employees long story short got injured bad enough to go on disability for 8 months and now can't lift things over 5 pounds without back pain.

Young people tend to go work physical jobs due to lack of degrees. But now idk what to apply to.

I applied to a spa in weho as front desk an interviewer said cause of pandemic doing online schooling a lot of young people have lower standards lol so that implied they prefer to hire older for 21 a damn hour.

I live nearby so just looking for ideas. Mods feel free to delete this post if must my grind won't stop.

Men's curly haircut recommendations?

The guy who's been cutting my hair for years, moved out of the area, and I guess I'm trying to figure out where I might go. My hair's a little on the fine side, but dark and curly medium length, so just trying to see who might be a good stylist in the area. Thanks!

Buy Nothing Group for Weho rejects me even though I live here?

I can’t seem to be able to find the appropriate buy nothing group on Facebook. I’m near SMB and Fairfax, but the West Hollywood (North) / Hollywood Hills West is the closest group that I can find. Is there a better one?
