French movie whump?
I need some French movies with the male lead as the whumpee? Any genre is fine as long as its a pretty boy.
Don't judge me I'm just trying to learn French😅

I just found out that the stoic character from the same fandom I’m currently making whump fanfiction of got kidnapped when he was young in canon.
The character invented lots of stuff when he was “young” but one day he got forced, with horrific threats, to go to an old castle and forced to create a “medicine“, with lies of its use and false promises of freedom. The medicine was actually dangerous and was simply Not gonna be used for medical purpose. the character managed to escape with the medicine and hid himself with it.
He has a bunch of traps around his house to prevent most people from coming in which is demonstrated a lot in other stories but everyone (including the readers) just assumed he liked protecting his invention before his friends actually pointed out that “with the amount of traps you have, one might think you’re scared of something“ “maybe I am.”
Guess what? the kidnapper found him and is about to take him to who knows where, I have to keep reading
Hey y'all
I've just thought about when first realised I liked whump (without knowing the term obviously). The earliest thing I can remember is the cartoon "Krypto the superdog" I think. He was affected by kryptonite a lot.
I just watched the new Supergirl movie (10/10 btw) that's why it came to mind haha. There also some whump there, can recommend!
Also as a kid I rewatched a certain episode of some crime show (Alarm für Cobra 11) over and over again where the main character got buried alive. My parents did not understand.. :'D
What's your first experiences with whump content?
Does anyone have any recs where a male character gets injured while saving another character? (Bonus points if the character that gets saved then becomes the caregiver)
This happened in my last D&D campaign and it hasn’t left my mind since.
Gage and Drew’s bedroom in Worley, a crime scene within a crime scene, where Gage wears the evidence.
despite the money Drew earns from Gage’s misery, and despite being prepared to pick up and leave, they live in abject filth. and that floor mattress, the one that has witnessed countless horrors, is where Gage sleeps beside Drew every night.
a panorama project from November 2025!! featuring Gage from my series-in-development Nightlight.
hurt comfort is my guilty pleasure, my preference being male lead who is also very attractive.. i mostly watch american shows and this list also include teen shows bc that's where hot guys are at. please dont judge me but i thought it would be helpful for someone w similar preference. i'll be talking from whump perspective whether or not it's worth it. and rate them overall, whether or not i rec it. [ITS JUST MY PERSONAL OPINION]
*doesn't contain kdramas or anime. im also not much into fantasy/sci fi unless it's a promising actor. just love me some realistic human level whump. most whumpees are young to middle aged at max
i'll put in the character under "{{char}}"
this contains a summary of pretty much all shows mentioned on here, or i've watched that fit the above preference
tsitp: 4/10. do not rec, it's a boring show as compared to others. {{conrad}} u get some emotional whump in first 2 seasons, >!panic attacks, grief!<, >!death of loved one!<, >!everyone's like "conrad has changed", he gets ignored like a sick puppy. in s3, u get more miserable conrad and he gets hurt too in one of the eps!< ...but chris briney is insanely good looking and a decent-good actor, so you'll not get bored, aesthetically at least..everything is taylor swift
13rw: 7/10. it's heavy, filled w lots of emotional and physical trauma. all characters go through something at one point or another. the show is brutal and sad. if you're into overall sad vibe, go for it. my fav whumpee was >!justin foley!<, he's an asshole in the start and his whump comes from being >!abused by stepdad, being addicted to drugs, withdrawal, emotional pain, transformation into a better person, a lot of more trauma, then he gets sick and finally dies. if he's your whumpee of choice, be prepared for a lot of pain!<
ginny and georgia: 5/10, recommend. it's a good show to watch. whump wise, pick any character and they suffer. my preferred one was >!marcus!<, he goes through >!depression, addiction, gets hurt and everyone is worried for him. !<there's his whump in every season ig
euphoria: 7/10, show is full of whump/drug addiction/ tension and s3 just escalates it all. >!nate jacobs!< get whumped a lot in s3 and >!finally dies!<. he's a good looking char, but there's nothing to root for him. he's a douchebag till the end
the resident: 5/10. only watch if you're into medical drama but main char has good whump. he has overall sad vibe and >!then loses his wife so that's very traumatic!<
graceland: 5.5/10, good whump, good friends. the good whump is during >!his addiction era where everyone is worried and he finally gets sober!<
MacGyver 2016: 5/10. if you're only into whump then watch it, it does get a bit boring but the whump is decent, short, not much comfort tbh
hannibal: ?/10. i couldn't watch it more as i wasn't comfortable but it has SO MUCH whump. i can bet the show creator was a whump fan. the mc is cute (the one who gets whumped)
prodigal son: 8/10 i really loved this one. it was a perfect mixture of everything. there SO MUCH whump, and it's not boring. it's pretty popular over here so i dont think i need to say much. but overall speaking, whump aside, the show is pretty interesting. the characters are awesome!!!! it's a shame it got cancelled
criminal minds: ?/10 bc i havent watched the whole show but from whatever ive seen, whump is good
supernatural : ?/10. it's a super long show and im not that into supernatural or superhero stuff so i can't say. ive watched the whump parts tho, great whump. (i mean it is prolly the first thing that comes up when someone says whump). the mcs are lovely.
daredevil: 6/10. great whump. no comments
911 series: 5/10, i'll prolly give it a try again since i couldnt get used to the characters
stargate series: ?/10 im so sorry i dont even remember what the plot was like
white collar: 8.5/10. not overall heavy whump show, has emotional moments and occasional whump but totally worth it. the bonding is great so whump hurts more. most handsome and charming tv lead of all time (imo)
the mentalist: 7/10. great show, great characters, a lot of whump. i watched it for whump but it was a show to watch overall
breaking bad: ?/10 yet to watch the whole show but looks good and promising
the umbrella academy: ?/10 yet to watch
Maxton Hall — The World Between Us: 5/10. german show, you'll need subtitles but worth it. whump is a-mazing (>!losing a loved one, toxic dad, legacy, drugs, alcohol)!<
outlander: ?/10. watched a bit, good for whump but it's historical drama and im very picky about my settings
smallville : 6/10. good one
Hart of Dixie: 6.5/10...it's overall great setup, good looking characters
lucifer: 6/10. interesting one, attractive leads
daisy jones and the six: 7.5/10..i see fewer people talk about this. it has addiction mostly (im counting addiction in whump idk if that's right or not) and emotional whump
Lazarus 2025: 8/10...such an underrated one imo, it has a lot of emotional whump etc..look at some clips if it might suit you. plot is good ngl
broadchurch: 8/10, more ppl need to be talking about this lol. i really enjoyed the whole thing, whump is good in first 2 season, the characters are very lovable, you'll feel attached very soon
doctor who: 7/10 goldmine of whump, there's whump in every ep frm 10th doctor ig..but it gets a little boring if you are not into sci fi. personally it's not my thing-y but i've still rated it high bc it feels wrong not to
there she goes: 7.5/10, i loved this show for way more than whump. it has a some >!alcoholism struggles and a fracture!< but overall the show is so worth watching
...i'll be adding movies to this list soon, it's already too big...please suggest anything i should watch/add to this list
I’m a nursing assistant in a hospital, which means I’m carrying out a lot of the day-to-day personal care for patients on the wards - washing, dressing, feeding, toileting, etc. I’m also a lifelong whump fan, have been since I was a little kid, and a good part of my career path and interests have been influenced by the medical research I did to aid in my whump writing (see [this old post](https://www.reddit.com/r/FanFiction/s/668VVXkMUZ) - thought a lot has changed since then).
But my job now has made it harder to enjoy a lot of the hospital or medical based whump tropes I used to read and use a lot. To give some example:
The bridal carry is one of my absolute favourite tropes. Shocker, it’s never used IRL as that can throw your back out (we’re given a LOT of training on moving and handling).
Sharing a hospital bed. Brief cuddling aside, it’s not allowed for a full night’s sleep for infection control reasons, and we might provide you with a camp bed if you’re lucky, but only if you’re in a cubicle and not in a bay, and if you’re in a cubicle you probably have some kind of infectious disease so still no sharing hospital beds.
Nurses/NAs sitting by the bedside for long periods to keep company. Nice in the fics and maybe it happens in departments I’m not in, but on my ward, we are stretched far too thin to spend more than a few minutes at a time with any one patient, just enough to take you to and from the bathroom. The only time we stay with a patient is if we legitimately have to, like if they’re a wanderer with dementia and need to be on a 1:1.
Ringing the call bell and a nurse comes immediately. In reality it’s more like 3 minutes, though I personally try to answer as quickly as possible because I’m autistic and I despise the sound of that damn bell.
Only saw this one a couple of times in fics but visitors bringing sippy cups to patients confined to hospital beds to make drinking easier. Even saw one where the nurse praised its as “innovative”! In real life, no nurse in the world wouldn’t have thought of this already - we keep plenty of beakers and straws on hand for patients, it’s terribly commonplace.
Hospital work and caretaking IRL is so much more practical and less tender than it is in fanfics, and this isn’t meant to say that people shouldn’t read or write or enjoy them, fiction is fiction because real life isn’t as fun. Just that every time I read about nursing care in a hospital now, I can only map it onto what would actually happen in my work.
Hey everybody I’m for books with some male main character whump. Preferably a romance book. It can be MM or MF. Bonus points for the MMC to get hurt or sick and get taken care of.
Just no throuples, omegaverse, or cheating.
Thank you :)
