Do you ever discover what you're really thinking while writing?
Writing has taught me that sometimes the most important thing isn't the song itself.
It's the thinking that happens while you're writing it.
I've found that when I start putting thoughts, memories, experiences, or emotions into words, I often end up understanding them differently than I did before I started writing.
Sometimes a song changes.
Sometimes my perspective changes.
Sometimes I realize things I didn't even know I was carrying around.
Have any of you experienced that?
Has songwriting ever helped you understand something about yourself, your life, or a situation differently than before you wrote about it?
