Using an Xbox One as a video capture card

Hi,

So i'm not really that much into xbox homebrew but i'm pretty sure you can now install any app using the dev mode or something? Anyways i was wondering if there was any app allowing me to use my Xbox One as a video capture card (with the hdmi in port), like just an app that records the hdmi in video stream. Yes this is a dumb use case for my Xbox but thats the only use case i have for it and it'll save me from having to buy one on amazon :/

Thx

Xbmc4gamers - Homescreen is listing my Ports under Homebrew suggestions

Working on a new build and added OpenBoR games under my Ports folder. This was the only way to make them accessible in my Emustation Dashboard as well as Xbmc4Gamers. But on the homescreen, it is listing them in the Homebrew random suggestions.

I noticed that in the default sources.xml Ports is included under the Homebrew heading, so I removed that portion and made it's own Ports section. This did what I wanted for the most part and creates a seperate Ports tile on the root menu and keeps the Homebrew and Ports game menus seperate. But it still mixes Ports into the Homebrew random suggestions only.

Any idea how to correct this?

I've cleared caches, updated thumbnails, and created a fresh user profile, but still no luck.

Java UWP ERROR

https://github.com/veroxsity/JavaUWP.git

Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to build the JavaUWP project, but I’ve hit a wall with the compilation process. I’ve followed the build scripts, but I keep getting a series of 29 errors during the build.ps1 process.

The main errors I’m seeing are:

package net.minecraft does not exist

cannot find symbol: class_XXX (specifically related to Mixins)

javac: file not found (when trying to process source files)

I’ve manually verified that my JDK is set up correctly and I've attempted to point the build scripts to the correct game directory and mapping files. It seems like the compiler isn't correctly linking the intermediary mappings or the base Minecraft jar, resulting in it failing to recognize the obfuscated class names.

I’ve already tried:

Running the fabric-installer to generate the environment.

Manually creating the .fabric/remappedJars folder structure.

Updating the build_compat_mod.ps1 script to point directly to the base 1.21.11.jar.

Despite this, the build fails consistently with the same errors. Has anyone encountered this while building JavaUWP? Is there a specific step regarding the mappings I might be missing?

Any help or guidance on how to correctly link the mappings for this specific project would be greatly appreciated.

To clarify, everything related to the general setup is working perfectly. I have successfully installed the Fabric loader, and the environment preparation steps (including the initial script configurations) run without any issues. The problem is isolated specifically to the final compilation phase when I run .\build.ps1. The build process seems to lose track of the necessary dependencies at the last minute, triggering the 29 errors I mentioned."

Environment:

OS: Windows 10/11

Java: JDK 21

Minecraft Version: 1.21.11

Veroxity replay me: “you need java 25 not 21 ive just not updated it yet”

# Bandit Launcher pre-release: Minecraft Java Edition running on Xbox Series in Dev Mode

I’m opening up a pre-release of Bandit Launcher, an experimental Minecraft Java Edition launcher for Xbox Developer Mode UWP.

Current status:

  • Xbox Series consoles work and can get in-game.
  • Xbox One does not fully work yet. It can load into the game, but the Minecraft menu currently does not render/show correctly.
  • Fabric mod support is working.
  • The launcher includes a Mods page with Modrinth browsing/install support.
  • Microsoft sign-in and Minecraft Java ownership verification are built in.
  • The app downloads official Minecraft files after ownership verification instead of bundling Mojang files.
  • Singleplayer reaches gameplay.
  • Multiplayer and skin loading have had recent fixes.
  • Keyboard input works.
  • Xbox controller input is exposed through the custom GLFW/GameInput layer, though controls still need more testing.

Recommended mods for the current pre-release:

  • Sodium
  • Controllify

This is still pre-release software, so expect bugs, rough edges, and weird Xbox sandbox issues. Xbox Series is the main target right now. Xbox One support is experimental and not ready yet.

A few important notes:

  • This only targets Xbox Developer Mode.
  • Retail mode is not supported.
  • This is not affiliated with Mojang, Microsoft, Fabric, or Modrinth.
  • You need to own Minecraft Java Edition.
  • Please don’t redistribute APPX builds or make public install tutorials for pre-release/nightly builds yet.

I’m mainly looking for testing feedback, especially around Series console behavior, mods, controller input, multiplayer, and any crashes or rendering problems.
