Let’s discuss: Should Mr Sinister been the main villain of the first two seasons of X-Men: Evolution instead of Magneto?
Me and other people on this sub has pointed out that a lot of Magneto’s actions in Evo especially in the first seasons sound a lot more like something Mr sinister would do:
Arranging fights and recruiting the winner against their villain.
Experimenting on mutants babies.
Tricking mutants into being genetically altered in a way that enhances them but also makes them obedient.
Thoughts?
First Time Watching.....😱
So long story short I started watching this show for the first time a couple months ago. I watched the first couple of episodes, and then I stopped because I wanted to watch another show instead (Batman Beyond lol), but planned to come back to finish this after. I'm finally sitting down again and watching it continuing where I left off and this show is so good, granted I am on s1 ep 8 now, but I got a lot to say!
First off I love the art style, and I love the different characters styles. I feel like each character is individually recognizable and has their own thing. I also love the writing especially episode seven, when Rogue gets the memories of Mystique, and it really shows the continuity and that things really have consequences.
Really looking forward to seeing how things develop in the show. I do know some spoilers and some things from seeing clips online and edits etc, but I am excited! Also I saw some fan art of Wolverine and Storm do they get together? I feel like that would be cute in this show specifically!
Also Spyke and Scott are my favs so far, but I also love the other characters as well!
What's your favorite Spyke moment ?
How could the X-Men possibly fight Wanda?
The first time they encounter Wanda in the mall, she kicks everyone's butt.
In the end, Professor Xavier says he failed them, because he should have taught them how to fight someone like Wanda.
But could they possibly do so? Her powers are disproportionaly greater. She has her own powers and also can control everyone's powers at will with no difficulty.
Even if they are smart and very coordinated, she can easily overpower them all. She can only be beaten by telepathy, by Rogue sneaking close to her and touching her, or maybe by this Dorian boy who can turn off anyone's power.
(Evolution is all I know of X-Men, except a couple movies)

X-Men vs Anti-Phoenix
An art piece I had done a few years ago, Art by Art of Lucas.
Idea is basically take "Onslaught" but have the two characters fused together be Scarlet Witch and Cyclops instead. The way Cyclops seems to boost the powers of other mutants when he has children with them, the result of a merger with Scarlet Witch would create an "Anti-Phoenix".
Cover design is based on the "Underbase" saga from the old Marvel Transformers comic.
"The Toad, The Witch and the Wardrobe" was way more infuriating and horrifying than I thought upon rewatch.
The way Wanda was violated twice. Magneto having her brain and memories tampered with, erased, and replaced against her will while the Acolytes (including Gambit and Colossus) just stood there and watched. Then later, Toad kissed her without consent (since she was fooled and was horrified that it was just a fake image all along). And here's the worst part, not only did nobody in the show care about the brainwashing, ever, but Kurt himself suddenly told Wanda to be grateful to Toad even after the non-consensual kiss? Magneto was gonna let Wanda go eventually after the memory wipe so Toad didn't have to "rescue" her, Wanda doesn't owe him anything. And Kurt? The same guy whose relationship with his gf Amanda's parents were ruined by selfish Toad who never even apologized or showed remorse for doing that? Forgave Toad too quickly then told Wanda to be grateful to Toad? I'm so heated right now.
How would you have felt about Pietro having a scene like this with Magneto?(spoilers for Avatar The Last Airbender)
How would you have felt about Pietro actually standing up to Magneto and straight up leaves and saves Wanda from her brainwashing?
I think we can all agree this is perhaps the most evil version of Magneto
I think about what he did to Wanda, a LOT. Really disgusts me…
Mystique is pissed that Magneto was allowed redemption in the prologue.
Why was Spyke from X-Men Evolution never introduced to the comics?
Similar to Harley Quinn and X-23 who both debuted on TV shows before being introduced to the comics
One idea I had for a hypothetical rewrite of the show would be include Sebastian Shawn and his son Shinobi and have them have a similar dysfunctional relationship like Norman and Harry Osborn did in the Raimi Spider-Man movies.
One thing I dislike about the season 1 finale is how Nightcrawler and Mystique are reunited and don’t even attempt to continue the conversation they were denied in “Shadowed Past”.
Any recommendations for fanfics of X-Men: Evolution Season 5?
Just binged Evolution again, and I was wondering if anyone knows of decent or good fanfics that continue the story past its Season 4 finale? Would love to read them.
If anyone here ever gets a chance to interview one of the writers of X-Men Evolution there is one question about the show that I have been dying to know for decades.
Was there ever any plans to ever address Wanda’s brainwashing in a hypothetical season 5 or was it that they didn’t know how to resolve the whole “Magneto abandoned his daughter in an asylum” plot they created so they had her mind be altered as a way to brush it under the rug so to speak?
Imagine if someone in 2003 made video essays about shows that premiered in 1977. That’s what is like to watch X-Men Evolution essays today.
How would you rewrite the Season 1 finale if you could?
Looking on the season 1 I think it’s one of the weaker finals and honestly I actually don’t like it that much at all:
For one Magneto’s plan is stupid and counterintuitive to what the character is usually suppose to be about. Arranging fights between mutants and than recruit the winner regardless of they want to or not and ditch the loser even if they are loyal to you or not is stupid and sound more like an Apocalypse plan than Magneto.
What was the point of this? At best he would have as many mutants as he originally had and at worst he will have lost all the mutants loyal to him.
For instance by doing this he lost Mystique a woman who had worked for him since Nightcrawler was baby, I.e about 16 years by that point. Why would he would want to lose her because she lost to Storm in a fight that wasn’t even necessary in the first place, especially since her mutant powers are excellent for espionage?
Also I found it weird that he never does this in future seasons. He just seems to recruit anyone he can and sometimes even tries to forcibly recruit people like Angel without them have to prove themselves in a silly pointless fight. Maybe the writers realized this was silly and didn’t have him do it again
I also hated how Cyclops trusted Magneto and that Magneto still tricked him after that. was Magneto trying to alienate himself to the X-Men?
I also hated how Nightcrawler and Mystique are reunited and they both don’t attempt to carry out the conversation that were denied in Shadowed Past.
I also hated the design of the “evolved” versions of the mutants we did see.
Any idea for how this season finale could be rewritten?
