Is YT's suspension calculator useless?
I've been trying to get my sag right on my shock and I'm finding that instead of running approximately 160psi I'm having to run nearly 200psi to get 30% sag. I weighed myself with all my gear on and did the sag testing with the same gear on. Seems like the pressure recommendation is garbage, so what about the compression and rebound settings? Are they garbage too?
Weld failure, what can I do?
a weld failed on my 2020 Jeffsy Base XL 27.5. Looking closely the weld seems porous in the exact spot. is there anything I can get YT to do?
Rear Seatstay for '24 Decoy MX Carbon large
Anyone parting out a 2024 large Decoy MX carbon? Looking for a non-compromised rear seatstay / rear triangle assembly.
I'm in USA and has been a few months without any real reply from YT other than "we will get to your inquiry" but I don't have much faith. PinkBike has been a dead end so far, too.
Frame protection on black frame
Hi, has anyone used frame protection like Invisiframe or Ridewrap in a matte finish on their Jeffsy, specifically a black frame? If so, how does it look? I'm concerned that if I do it, it will look terrible. Pictures please if you have them, thanks.
YT Decoy (EP801 / 720Wh) – Modiary charger hitting 63°C (145°F). Is this normal or a fire hazard?
Hi everyone,
I recently got a YT Decoy with the Shimano EP801 motor and the 720Wh battery. I’ve only charged it 5 times so far, but I am seriously concerned about the temperature of the stock Modiary charger.
Using an infrared laser thermometer, I measured the outer surface temperature at 63.1°C (145.6°F) during the initial bulk charging phase. The heat is so intense that the factory warning label has completely blistered and started lifting due to the glue failing.
I’ve done some DIY troubleshooting: I attached tall rubber feet (from an All-in-One PC) to lift it off the ground for better airflow, and I even placed it on top of a large metal pot to act as a heatsink. This dropped the surface temperature by about 5°C (down to ~57.7°C), but I am still not satisfied with these results.
I understand that the internal electronics and the plastic housing are probably rated to withstand higher temperatures (maybe up to 80°C before catastrophic failure or melting), but seeing 63°C on the outside feels incredibly sketchy.
My biggest fear is charging the bike out of sight – like leaving it in the hotel room, a mountain bike chalet/refuge, or the basement. If a charger gets this hot on a table, I'm terrified it could experience thermal runaway, melt the housing, and cause a house fire.
For other YT Decoy owners with the same setup: What temperatures are your chargers hitting?
Is anyone else experiencing sticker bubbling/blistering from the heat?
Should I push YT for a warranty replacement, or is this mass-produced Modiary brick just a notoriously hot-running design?
Thanks for any insights!
Parting out a 2024 YT Decoy core 4 with Shimano XT D12 derailer and shifter
Bike had 1500 miles on it when frame was damaged beyond repair. Motor (EP 801) was brand new warranty replacement from Shimano. Battery, battery charger, motor, and Shimano Di2 shifters and derailer all available. PM me for details and pricing. I have other items including the Hayes Dominion levers and rotors (these have some scratches). I am located in the US and will only ship in CONUS. Suspension parts are not available
