Is YT's suspension calculator useless?

I've been trying to get my sag right on my shock and I'm finding that instead of running approximately 160psi I'm having to run nearly 200psi to get 30% sag. I weighed myself with all my gear on and did the sag testing with the same gear on. Seems like the pressure recommendation is garbage, so what about the compression and rebound settings? Are they garbage too?

Frame protection on black frame

Hi, has anyone used frame protection like Invisiframe or Ridewrap in a matte finish on their Jeffsy, specifically a black frame? If so, how does it look? I'm concerned that if I do it, it will look terrible. Pictures please if you have them, thanks.

How does the dropper post lever attach?

I cannot for the life of me work out how to attach the dropper post lever. There's nothing in the instruction booklet about it!? There's a small nut and bolt on the lever already and a bigger nut and bolt attached to the hanger on the bottom of the brake lever. Any ideas?

Edit. I think I sussed it in the end removed the bolt and small nut from the lever and fitted the lever using the larger nut and bolt already attached to the brake lever adaptor.

Should I upgrade the engagement on my rear hub?

My new bike is arriving this week and the rear Crankbrothers Synthesis Enduro Alloy wheel it comes with only has a 36T (17°) engagement. I can upgrade it to 54T (6.6°) engagement with an upgrade kit. Will it be noticeable and a worthwhile upgrade for climbing? Thanks in advance

Well that is/was a little concerning

My new bike is currently en-route, but the Fedex website said this.

I assume the International shipment release - Export means all is good now though!?

Anyone else experience this with their bike shipment?

Complete tubeless noob

I've been mountain biking for about 24 years, but I've never run tubeless. This is mainly because my bike is now 19 years old and in pretty sure the DT Swiss wheels I have aren't compatible.

Anyway, I've finally got a new full suspension bike on order (not an e-bike), and although tubeless ready, I assume it will ship with inner tubes.

My first DIY plan is to make it run tubeless. Is there anything I need to be aware of other than taping the rims well (I've ordered Peatys Holeshot Tubeless Rim Tape), inserting a tubeless compatible valve (I've ordered 50mm Reserve Fillmore Valves), inflate the tyre, remove the valve core to remove the air, then add the sealant (I've ordered Peatys Holeshot BioFibre Tubeless Tyre Sealant) through the valve, put the core back in a inflate the tyre again? Seems too simple!?

Silly question probably

This is probably a silly question, but I don't want to buy an additional one if I don't need to.

The Jeffsy's Tech & Spec section says Hydration: Thirstmaster 600, but the pictures of the bike don't have it on it. Does the bike come with a bottle and cage or do you have to purchase it separately? Thanks

Thoughts on YT Industries

I'm in the market for a new bike shortly and had my heart set on a Canyon Spectral 6 AL, but they're sold out in my size and after speaking to Canyon that means they've stopped making it and will be changing stock at some point, I assume with a newer model. The person I spoke to couldn't give me any indication as to when this might be. Could be 3, 6, 9 months from now. Seems a bit silly as they're effectively saying wait until who knows when, or take your money elsewhere.

So, I've been doing some research and the YT Industries Jeffsy Core 3 AL is discounted at the moment and very well spec'd, but I heard they went down the pan last year and were resurrected by the owner earlier this year. Can they be trusted? What are people's thoughts on warranty, customer service etc? I'm UK based btw ,thanks

Glasses

I'm at the age now where I need reading glasses for reading (obviously), but also TV or computer screen work. X1 lenses for TV etc, but x1.5 for close up stuff like phone or book (I can happily read my Edge on x1) . This also includes the likes of reading my Garmin Edge when riding. At the moment I can read it when I have no more than 4 data fields in view, but when things like climbpro etc pop up, I really struggle to read the data, especially as with mountain biking you only look at your screen for a split second or two otherwise you're likely to be over the bars! I don't need glasses to actually ride and see the trail yet, so what do people in this boat do? Are there any glasses out there for us?

Myfitnesspal synchronisation

Hi all, I seem to be having a lot of trouble with my myfitnesspal synchronisation with the new Google Health app. It's very hit and miss. It will sync sometimes but not all of the time for some reason. Has anyone else had this issue and/or found a fix for it? MFP is fully connected via Android.

I can't see the benefits of have my Google AI Pro subscription

Am I missing something because I can't really see the benefits of have my Google AI Pro subscription other than Google Home Premium standard.

  1. 5Tb of storage - As a family we only use 360Gb at present

2 ) Google Home Premium Standard - I have a Nestcam Battery and a Nestcam Doorbell battery. I have them on 24/7 so automations are of no use to me. I have no smart bulbs or any other smart devices in my house other than x2 Nest mini's (with no Gemini on them for some reason), a Sony Bravia SmartTV with Google Home, a 4k Chromecast, x3 Pixel Tabs, and x3 Pixel 9 phones.

  1. Fitbit Premium - None of us own a Fitbit

  2. Gemini App with 3.1 Pro and limited access to Veo 3.1 - I use Gemini at a basic level for random questions and help with letter/email responses.

  3. Flow with higher access to Veo 3.1 - Whatever this is!?!?

  4. NotebookLM with more access - Whatever this is!?!?

  5. Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Vids and more - No idea if this is of any use

  6. More benefits across Google - Whatever this is!?!?

If i was to drop down to the Premium (2Tb) subscription, i'd get:

  1. 2Tb of Storage instead of 5Tb - Fine by me

  2. No Google Home Premium - I will miss out on 30 days of storage for my camera and doorbell

  3. No Fitbit Premium - Fine by me

  4. Gemini App with 3.1 Pro and limited access to Veo 3.1 - I assume my usage of Gemini isn't applicable at this level anyway

  5. Flow with higher access to Veo 3.1 - Don't care about whatever this is

  6. NotebookLM with more access - Don't care about whatever this is

  7. Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Vids and more - No idea if this is of any use

  8. More benefits across Google - Whatever this is!?!?

I can't see any benefits to AI being built into my Google Home app. What the hell does it do or can it do for me?

Seems like Google are basically holding me to ransom over the 30 days of storage for my camera and doorbell. Bit of a con really.

I got rid of the infamous orange dots

I've sussed how to get rid of the orange dots from the weapons!

What you have to do is for each weapon you can't get rid of the dot for, mark it as a favourite. Once favourited, go into the relevant weapon within your favourites and you'll find 'New' for a weapon skin, or an orange dot for an attachment that didn't show when looking at the weapon outside of your favourites. Once you've done this for all your weapons that have an orange dot you can't get rid of, close the game down properly and then boot it up again. All the orange dots should now be gone! Worked for me. You're welcome.

I currently have 2 Echo Dots and an Echo and run them alongside my Nest Cam Battery and Nest Doorbell Battery. I'm considering moving over to Google speakers and just wondering if the Minis are worth getting to replace the Dots and the Audio to replace the Echo?

I can pick a couple of Gen 2 Minis up 2nd hand for £10 each. I've also noticed there's a new Google Home Speaker coming any day now. Should I just hold off and buy three of those instead, or will the features roll down to the Mini and Audio?

A chuffed with myself post.

First time under 1 hour on the Alpe this morning after 9 attempts reaching the summit.

I'd not tried again since I bonked hard about 2/3rds of the way up last June (ironically I'm not as fit as I was then, but I am several kilos lighter which makes a big difference). A gel at the beginning of the climb and another one 35 minutes in saw me through to the top on an otherwise empty stomach.

ETA was 57:07 with 350m to the line, so dumped my feather and put the gas down to the summit and came in at 56:44! Happy me!

Hi all, as the title suggests, I tried my first workout on TP Virtual today - I'm a Zwift veteran - but for some reason even though my watts were showing my avatar wasn't moving.

My trainer is a Kickr Core 2 on a Zwift Ride. I know the Rides virtual shifting won't work through TP Virtual, but the trainer should work fine in ERG mode right?

Any idea what I've done wrong? Thanks

I noticed the other day that engineer's are maxed out at 5 rockets and only 2 at the first spawn instead of 6 and 3 respectively! Wtf did DICE do that for? It's near impossible to take out bloody tanks now on your own!

I can't stop playing it! Every free moment I have I want to jump on for a game! I just love so many aspects of it that I can't understand all the hate some people give it! I'm not great at it, but I think it's such an immersive experience and there's so many 'Battlefield moments' it's amazing!

Cairo is probably my favourite map, followed by Hagental. Iberian Offensive is great too. Can't wait for Cairo Bazaar!

Anyone else feel the same about this game?
