I read a forum that iridium spark plugs are useless if I have a tune on the R1. Currently, I have a 3/4 exhaust (SC Project), stock air filter (will get HiFlo Filtro air filter soon), and 2WDW ECU flashed. Not sure which spark plugs to get.
Edit: Forgot to add that I did smog block off plates and eliminate servo/plugged O2 sensors.

Hello, I was checking my bike and found the plug dangling. I tried to screw it but i kept rotating so either i made a mistake the plug itself is ruined. Also i assume it comes with a washer but I guess it got lost when the plug comes out when riding.
What should I do? Also i don’t think it’s safe to ride it.

A friend is offering me his 2008 R1. The stator / generator case blew a hole thru it. Any idea what I may be dealing with here? Any odds the Stator / Generator just let go and the motor and trans will still be salvageable? I’ll hopefully have time to tear into it next week.
Hey guys, i have a 23 r1 that started making this noise all the sudden when accelerating, seems to be coming from the front end somewhere.
It seems to not be present when decel/engine breaking like in the video. Almost sounds like cam chain tensioner area.
Bikes only got about 5000 miles w a handful of track days.
Any idea?

Hallo, mijn display werkt niet meer. De indicatoren voor richtingaanwijzers, neutraal... werken wel, maar niet van mijn toerenteller en snelheid. Ik heb de zekeringen gecontroleerd en daar is niets mis mee. Kan er iemand mij helpen hiervoor? thx

My first liter bike a 2002 R1 with 14k miles. I bought it from the original owner who happened to be an older gentleman that taken very good care of the bike. There really isn’t a scratch on it. Guy was very anal about keeping track of the maintenance and anything he did to the bike. Which is something I really admire and look for when buying a used motorcycle.
Hi everyone, some months ago i bought this r1 which is straight piped(with an artisanal titanium mid-pipe and a spark grid-o muffler with db-killer added by me when i bought it) but with no map.
It pops and bang a lot and my friends are saying i should stop riding immediately and remap it as soon as possible.
I've got an appointment to remap it but it will be in like almost 2-3 weeks and i will probably take the bike to a trackday sooner than that, do you think by listening to the audio that their concerns are true? (I hope you enjoy the video too)

I know if someone did all of this but didn’t remove the AIS then the backfire would be constant on deceleration sounding like a gunshot or explosion. On mine around 8,000 RPM down to 4,000 RPM on deceleration there’s always one backfire, but it isn’t insanely loud.
I would assume that is normal. The stock cat and muffler will muffle that sound a lot vs deleting the cat and installing an aftermarket exhaust.
Anyone else have a 2020+ R1 and have similar mods done? Just curious on your opinions and thoughts in regard to potential engine damage.
