To my fellow Commanders

To my fellow Commanders

Since ZCOM was announced about a year back, I was HYPED and couldnt wait for it. But recently there is one feeling, surpassing this hype.

Its the feeling whenever I see someone making a XCOM reference below a ZCOM post.

"Welcome back commander"

"Cant wait to miss my 95% point blank shots all mission"

"XCOM Star Wars Modders out of their job now"

"Who gave Bradford a Blaster?"

Hell even the name "ZCOM"

Whenever I see these things, I really feel the XCOM community uniting with the hype for this game and knowing that I am part of that feels amazing!

There is no real point to this post other than sharing these thoughts so I am gonna end it by telling all my fellow commanders out there that I appreciate you and that I cant wait for the day, when we all will sit down again and relive our best and worst memories in a totally new game.

Thank you, for showing me how amazing this community is.

What to play while we wait?

Here are three games to help pass the time while waiting for Zero Company.

(Not really.)

XCOM 2

The obvious choice. A lot of the developers at Bit Reactor previously worked on this game, and the influence is pretty clear.

Permadeath, Skill trees,Highly customizable operatives, A constant sense of urgency and desperation

If you're looking for something that captures the tactical side of Zero Company, this is probably the closest match.

Star Wars: Republic Commando

An older pick, I'll admit, but it's a great game.

It features a darker tone, is set during the Clone Wars, and offers a surprisingly fun arcade-style squad command system.

The story is simple, concise, and doesn't overstay its welcome. Despite its age, it still holds up remarkably well.

Star Wars Jedi (EA) Games

Not particularly tactical, but they share some of the storytelling that I think we'll see in Zero Company.

They explore the rise of the Empire, and references to the Clone Wars are everywhere.

From a gameplay perspective, especially in Jedi: Survivor, It is an absolute joy to play.

And if you've completely run out of things to do...

Watch Andor.

It's basically a masterpiece.

Cautiously Optimistic for this Game

I'm very excited, but also cautiously optimistic for this game. I've always loved Xcom 2 and hope this game can surpass it. My only worries is that the game might be too short due to the story-based missions. My hope for this game is to have high replayability of over +1,000 hours, even hopefully being able to play for years plus having high customization options. I don't mean a cheap replay of starting the same missions and story over and over again. It needs huge variety of different plays. Something just like Xcom 2. If there is a confirmation for such high replay value, then I will pre-order and buy the game as soon as possible. I wish it would let us play villains, like Darth Vadar and Kylo Ren. Maybe if the game succeeds in sales, then I hope they will add those in a future DLC for playing on the Dark Side, but that's just me.

It would be so cool if order 66 happened in the middle of the story, with the consequences affecting our team directly

It’s now confirmed that we can have Clone Troopers on our team. We also know that we can have one jedi at the same time on our team. On top of that there were rumours about the story taking place during the last year of the Galactic Republic and the creation of Galactic Empire. That made me realize one thing.

I think it would be cool and interesting if order 66 happened in the middle of the story. We know that our characters aren’t permanent. They’ll actually be gone if they happen to die.

I hope that if we happen to have the jedi and a clone trooper in the same team, the clone trooper will get an order 66 message from the emperor at some point and then kill the jedi. That would be the most logical outcome if the story is actually set during that period of time. It wouldn’t make sense for the clones not to do anything unless they are considered rogue/decommissioned, which at least Trick seems to be. The other clones we can recruit to our team might just be regular clones with their inhibitor chips. To be fair, there’s a chance that Trick will also have that chip inside his head.

Zero Company Spin-off

So it's probably far too early to discuss more iterations of this game but it would be absolutely incredible if we got a galactic empire era version of this next.

Do we know if this is going to follow a live service model?

Do we know if they're going to add things/gamemodes post launch? My other questions is do you think it'll be possible to play with a buddy?

Looking forward to the game!

What will zero company be?

What I am specifically asking is will this game essentially be BG3 star wars, if so I am going to preorder but if not i don't feel the need to buy it without more info, but I really am intrested in the idea.

Stealth ?

I have yet to see any stealth within the game, there are the operations (which feels similar to the Resistance rings mission in XCOM 2) And the "entrance" animation from the start of the latest trailer feels like a gun blazing entrance like in Chimera Squad without the tactical aspect. Do you think we can expect stealth ?

What species will you make Hawks

From my understanding, you can customize Hawks to be one of these 6 species. Which one do you think you’ll pick when you start the game? I’m personally leaning towards Devaronian

Will there be mouse and keyboard support for console?

Genuine question I’ve been following a lot of the advertising for this game, and has anybody got word if they may be mouse and keyboard support for console. Company of heroes 3 support mouse and keyboard on console I’m hoping this can become an industry standard.

Do you guys think this game will be as moddable as XCOM 2? We could use some custom audio mods for those of us who prefer Tem's Clones and OG battle droids + new skins or characters from the EU

Pre order question

If I pre order zero company now, will I get every preorder bonus in the future? Or will I just get what’s available now?
Noob gaming question, I just never pre order nowadays
