The IGF-1 level is 377, which is above the normal range of 331. Normal growth hormone levels despite having an 8mm pituitary tumor. Did you have surgery?

Everything began after I took Levaquin 13 months ago. After taking just one pill, I was bedbound for three months and still experience muscle and joint pain to this day. My condition continued to worsen, leading me to consult various specialists until we discovered the pituitary tumor. After further tests, we discovered that my IGF-1 levels are elevated, but the OGTT and my GH levels came back normal. My endocrinologist believes that the high IGF-1 results are false positives. However, I have been experiencing muscle and joint pain, fatigue, TMJ, oily skin, and various skin conditions. Has anyone else encountered a similar situation and undergone surgery? Thank you.

Sinus infection 5 wks post op

Update: my neurosurgeons NP prescribed me antibiotics, which is a big relief. No appts required. Symptoms don't seem to be getting much worse, and hopefully I turn a corner soon.

Hey there,

Left a message with my surgeons office this morning, but since it's a Sunday I figured I'd check here and see if anyone else had a similar thing. Started noticing a bad taste in my throat and more throat drainage a few days ago. Yesterday just a bad headache (manageable with Tylenol and ibuprofen) and this morning I have a clogged nose for the first time since post op - and a lot of bright yellow mucus.

So, anyone else have a post surgery sinus infection? Did you have to see a doctor before getting antibiotics? Were you able to see a local doc or did you have to have an appt with your surgeon?

My basic issue is that my surgeon is a long ways away (7hr drive), so just getting an idea of what the process looks like so I can be ready. My son starts kindergarten this week. Of course! 😂

TYIA! Hope y'all are having a nice weekend

Pituitary surgery advice for single parent

Hi all, I have been on a long journey with diagnosis, and have found out I have a multiple hormone secreting adenoma that has to removed. Currently somehow experiencing a tumor that is secreting growth hormone, ACTH, and cortisol. My surgery is scheduled for the 31 of this month. I haven't had much time to plan or process. I have a 1 year 10 months old boy and I am a single mother. I am so afraid about what recovery will look like and I am scared to have to surgery. I don't have much of a support system and don't know what to do. I have my sister who can help and my mom for about a week and felt confident this would be enough time but I am now reading that apparently full recovery and being able to safely lift things can take up to 6 weeks. My son is almost 35 pounds. I am devastated. There is no way I won't be able to lift my toddler when I am alone for that long and I live on the second floor apartment. Things like getting him in his carseat and out for daycare, day to day dealings with a toddler who is rambunctious and energetic and just a natural caveman and I am really stressing out and don't know what to do or expect. If anyone has had a similar experience and can share any tips or advice please offer it. His father is not active in his life so I do not have the option of having him stay with him. I feel incredibly sad, lonely, and helpless right now having to feel like I have to pick between being able to care for my son and addressing health issues. Sorry if this is written very sloppily i'm a mess and stressed tf out
