can someone explain why its like this?
First off, I know this was a stupid idea. And, I also know my drawings are nothing special (example below). But they are deeply personal for me. Since my first child was born in 2014, I have been making small comics of different events in my 3 daughters lives. All of these pages, are on each their own keyframe, and I have 6 layers. After the file got way too big and buggy in 2022, I started a new file.
I am ashamed to say that I have been unable to duplicate certain things in other software I have tried. Those things are:
Can someone please help a father who is way too far into Adobe Animate to find an alternative? I have made over 300 pages in this comic of their lives :(
For context, my style of animation is 2D combined with live action footage (like space jam... sort of).
I would love to move away from adobe, but I dont know a lot about other software’s enough to make the jump. I've had experience using different softwares, like ToonBoom, but not enough to make the jump just yet.
Basically **I want to know if theres any softwares that are similar to both Adobe animate and after effects, either as one software or two separate softwares that work well together.**
Animate and AE work so smoothly together for me and makes to process of adding animation to live action footage so easy, whilst still being able to tweak and edit if needed.
I used to use toonsquid on my ipad for a simpler alternative, but I would be animating directly onto live action video. This works great, but animate and AE give me more control like I said before and works a lot better for more professional/higher quality work.
Is toonboom my best bet? Im interested in TV paint too but Ive never used it before.
As I stated. What do I do I’m not paying twice
It's so annoying when i am trying to paint stuff. Instead of choosing the colour for the bucket, it changes everything outlined in 1 single colour so i have to manually deselect and change tools.
when i flip a frame i drew, it flips on itself based on its anchor point, instead of flipping based on the canvas. is there a different mirror tool, or am i missing a step?

Is it really neccesary to finish the outlining in every frame in order to paint the hair, even if its not a lil transparent
i wanted to simulate sm1 drawing live on my animation, like the start of animator vs animation, but i dont know how to do it properly
Hi, these days I've been thinking about making a simple animation that involves a spiral in the background, inspired by a "Mario Land 2" ad where a Wario head appears with a spiral in the background.
I tried to find some guide or tutorial to animate that and found that the best way would be After Effects. I have the program on my computer, but I had never opened it until today when I tried to give it a go, but it took me back to the first time I used Adobe Animate. That's why I would like to know if there is any way I can animate a simple spiral animation in Adobe Animate.
I have left as an "example" two images of what I would like to do.
