This is my first Mpc. Switched after many years with Maschine. The learning curve wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Everything makes relative sense for the most part. Also shoutout to YouTube and ChatGPT. We’re so lucky dude lol.

I purchased the akai mpk mini iv brand new at guitar center yesterday and while running a setup in the inmusic app and I keep getting an error message on the redeem software screen (I have already registered it successfully) but for some reason I continue to get this error message if you have a fix or can help me figure this out I would appreciate it I have already tried the date and time to automatic method and it is registered and signed into the correct email I have also unplugged and plugged it into all my usbc ports and have re downloaded and installed the app multiple times I’m running it on windows 11 I also made a request ticket for support but I don’t want them to just send the software rather than troubleshoot and fix the problem maybe I did something wrong?

so my laptop crashed about 3 days after buying the key37. noticed my mic was gettin a little dusty so I figured I’d see how it did with vocals.
I changed the audio driver in the settings, the mic is working. I can hear it directly on the headphones but that’s ALL I hear. I’m getting no other sound from the mpc. I need to hear the beat I made and should be able to hear it in order to record vocals, right? I’ve tried everything I can think of. headphones are plugged into the interface because this bypasses the board?
I’m not clicking something! please help lol

Someone locally is selling an Xl, but it says 8 GB of RAM on the box. I looked it up and I can’t find any information on anything less than 16 GB so I’m very confused.

Made a post about a month ago for advice as a newbie who wants to use an Mpc. Found a used Mpc one and a cheap midi off fb marketplace. Next is the getting the Mpc bible and maybe some cheap studio monitors.

Any advice is appreciated!

I’m a hobbyist and treat it as a never-ending learning curve, with me somewhere near the bottom just enjoying the process without any rush.

My main issue is figuring out what to focus on next—there’s just so much to learn. Right now I’m leaning toward arrangement, just so I can finish things and move on.

so I have to keep the 808s and drums muted cuz everyone is night night atm. wanted to post this to see if it sounds as nasty as it does or if it’s just me 🤷🏼‍♂️
Ive been working on layering sounds and the few I paired up on this are just perfect..

I’ll try to make this short as possible but here we go . After a year of learning to use a DAW and taking private lessons at a studio I decided to enroll in Music production at my local community college . I have a business and it’s slow during the summer so I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to take this to the nest level . This is just for my knowledge and I don’t plan on finishing nor working at a studio as advertised. In my delusional mind I think I can make a hit and be famous. Anyhow I was taking 2 classes . One was a music technology and the other a music appreciation.

My music technology class is small , about 6 “kids . ( im 46 btw ) Some of them are your typical class clowns , some weird , some just look like they’re in a cloud . My music appreciation class is an elective and a larger evening class . Some students there are a bit older with jobs . They’re also not majoring in music like I am . Some students in music appreciation don’t really look like they’re there to learn . They seem aloof , not engaged as I am . Hey we’re all on our on journey .

The thing I observed is that the instructors aren’t really motivating to students that want to make music their “ career “. They’re extremely knowledgeable and know the industry very well . One was even handed an award by Sting at his college . I mean I would think that they would be touring with a band or in a studio making hits but somehow life didn’t go that way . So one day we watched a video of a classical orchestra. Out of curiosity I asked how much a classical musician makes but he said he had no idea . He then mentioned how in the music industry only a small fraction of people actually make the big bucks . He then said something that was a little discouraging for an aspiring musician. The joke was do you know the difference between a guitar player and a pizza? I pizza can feed a family of 4. Waka waka waka . This dark humor really got me thinking it wasn’t very positive. It may be true but if I was there to work my way to a life of music it wouldn’t be that motivating. What do guys think ? Was this not positive? Am I thinking too much into this ?

new to mpk / mpc / production software … never played piano and never was into beat production or sampling, did only some simple cloud rap things in the past - looking forward to your feedback.

I've noticed that my MPC Live III takes almost 6 minutes to boot up until it reaches the home screen when my SD card is inserted. The card is a 480 GB SD card with only about 100 GB used.

Without the SD card, the MPC boots in just 52 seconds, so the SD card seems to be causing the delay.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a known issue, and is there a fix? Nearly 6 minutes seems excessively long for startup.

Edit: I’m using an SanDisk Extreme Pro Micro SD with the original SanDisk adapter.
