I came across a stamp collection that I received, and eBay seems to enjoy embellishing on everything.

It would be really cool if there was something worth being excited about.

I promise I always do my absolute best on researching things but stamps seem to be a little different. There are also just so many and I don't know what to look for.

Canada 1066a - what exactly is this with this packaging?

What exactly am I looking at here? I don't want to break the seal on the packaging.

I see the four stamps #1066a, but it looks like there's other stuff in this package and I'm curious what they are.

I know there is also a 1066b that is a souvenir sheet.

I am not sure how to prefer to this entire sheet and I'm having trouble finding exactly this online.

I'm sorting through my father's stamps and this one has me a little befuddled

This particular set was found next to some other stamps that have USA similar stamps out of Canada and Russia (US 1570, 2635...). But this particular set is thematically similar to the US number 2474a but is certainly not a duplicate.

Old stamps

I have a book of old stamps from around the world.
This is just one page of the Canadian stamps.
Anything valuable ? Or is there other stamps i should look out for ?

What's going on with this stamp (if it even is a stamp)

It doesnt have ridges.. feels exactly like a regular soaked off stamp. It was first on paper, exactly like this.. with maybe half an inch of paper margin around it, so it wasnt cut to this shape by the people i bought a bag of stamps from. Its probably a damaged stamp, but i wanted to ask about it to be sure.

My dad’s stamp collection. Looking for advice on where to start.

Hi everyone,
My dad has vascular dementia, and my parents are in the process of selling the home they’ve lived in for the last 51 years so they can move closer to me. The goal is to give them more support and help Dad stay in his own home for as long as possible.
While cleaning out the attic, we rediscovered Dad’s old stamp collection. None of us know much about stamp collecting, and we’re trying to figure out what we have before making any decisions.
I’ve attached a few photos of some of the albums. From what I can tell, there are Canadian stamps dating back to the early 1950s, along with larger souvenir sheets like the 1976 Olympic issues. There are multiple albums, and I honestly have no idea whether this is a beginner collection, something with collectible value, or mostly sentimental.
I’m not looking for someone to appraise it from a few photos, but I’d really appreciate advice on questions like:
Does anything in these photos stand out?
Is there anything I should be especially careful with?
Is it worth having the collection professionally evaluated?
What’s the best way to organize or photograph it if I want to learn more?
I know enough not to peel stamps off pages or handle them unnecessarily, but beyond that I’m starting from scratch.
Any advice for a complete beginner would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Where do I start with organising and valuing a collection like this? It was all just left in a bag!

Family member passed away a while ago, it was a hoarder situation so we're still working our way through the chaos. This is one of countless things that weren't looked after as they should have been.

Where do I start with organising and valuing a collection like this? Or would it be simpler to just sell as a job lot?

My mother has this stamp collection. It's all a bunch of 20th century (maybe older?) (mostly) Portuguese stamps, and I am trying to understand if any of these are valuable. Could someone give me any leads on this?

Inherited stamp collection

My 94 yo dad passed away in February. He told me about the stamps he’d collected as a young boy. Today my mom gave them to me. I have no idea if they are just common stamps or if any of them have any value.

There are a LOT of pages in this book, some are filled, some partially filled and others have just a few stamps. So I’m just posting a few pictures as examples of what it includes. I’m sure some of you own, or have seen this very book so I’m hoping someone can point out any valuable ones that the book ‘might’ contain so that I can see if he has it.

Great Britain 1883 Queen Victoria 10 Shillings Grey (SG 183) - Need authentication & info on back mark

Hello everyone, I would appreciate your expertise on this Great Britain 10 Shillings stamp (Queen Victoria, plate 1). The front is in grey, and the back shows a very clear original gum with a small red expertizer/dealer stamp or mark.

Can anyone help me identify the red mark on the back or confirm if it’s a known expert signature? Any thoughts on its condition and potential value would be highly appreciated. Thank you

Fairfax Stamp Show

Hi, has anyone been to the Fairfax (Virginia) Stamp Show? Would you recommend it to a new stamp collector (hobbyist)? I've never been to a stamp show before and am interested in exploring what is available. Thanks!
