Planning on buying an SQ5 whenever I can find a deal good enough. I’m seeing that the non air suspension cars are cheaper (obviously). I’ve test driven two with the air suspension, but honestly can’t really tell the difference much when driving between comfort and dynamic.
Does the regular suspension really feel that much different than air? Would it be a make or break for you? Is there more body roll or does it feel floatier?
Going to test drive one next week as long as it doesn’t sell. Figured I’d get some opinions ahead of time.
Thanks!
One owner, clean carfax, 99,500 miles. Looks like its been sitting in a garage and the owner finally decided to sell it. Brakes still look good but I know the 100k mile service is coming up. This would be my first Audi. Thoughts?

If you're DIY-ing your EA839 coolant system, attached are some photos of the VAG1274/8 Cooling System Test Adapter that doesn't get mentioned or referenced in any DIY video or discussion, but I'd highly suggest having access to it if you're utilizing any similar vacuum filler. Reference the notes on the pictures attached regarding tools needed to vacuum fill the system and the prescribed Audi manual coolant bleed routine after vacuum filling (Note - it will take roughly 25-30mins /~210°F engine oil for the radiator fans to turn on with the engine at idle). Plus, added a reference on how to 'trick' the coolant shutoff valve to run full open during all conditions.
Background - TLDR
As the title implies, I was affected by the standard EA839 coolant migration issues (outside warranty, like all owners) on my B9.5 SQ5 at around 55K. After doing a full replacement (minus vacuum line and air reservoir, caught early), with parts and tools from FCP was able to get it replaced. After vacuum filling the coolant with a Schwaben filler, I noted I had issues getting the filler seated properly with the supplied inserts on the reservoir and issues with trapped air in the coolant. It was to the point of having CELs and audible warnings randomly, only with WOT on hills getting "coolant temp too high" but would clear once the car was level; so I decided to go to the dealership to have them run the scan tool coolant system bleed routine.
Fast forward 3 months / 60K miles I noticed the replacement coolant shutoff valve had started prematurely failing (coolant pooling/drying on the top vacuum cell), so to prevent any further issues/migration I capped the N489 shutoff valve vacuum line to run the shutoff valve full open and ordered a new valve from FCP (to utilize their Lifetime Parts Warranty), which was a good stop-gap as I waited for a couple of months since it was only weeping not leaking. Then I went down the rabbit hole researching EA839 coolant bleeding procedures, and luckily FCP / other YouTubers at that time, since I replaced my system, put out good videos, but were glossing over coolant bleeding procedures. So after finding a copy of the VAG mx procedures, it specifically mentions a VAG1274/8 adapter tool to pressure test/fill the system, and I was able to source one through VW.snapon tools (they supply North America, register yourself as a dealer/mechanic to order direct or pay huge markups on other websites). This week, I finally got 'coolant low' warning lights and was continuously filling the reservoir, so it was time to replace the failing shutoff valve, vacuum fill the coolant with the Schwaben & VAG1274/8 adapter, and manually bleed according to the Audi workbook - so far so good. Hopefully won't have to do that again BUT now have it down with the proper tools/adapters.
Make sure to check your drains yall. Don’t end up like me and stranded cause a few wires got wet.
What do you guys use to keep your phone from sliding around on the console wireless phone charger? I have an iPhone 16 Pro and it slides all over and stops charging. I see some non-slip mats you can put on them, but not sure what the best option or size would be and if it will still allow my phone to charge with it on. TYIA for your suggestions!
Sunshade is broken and dealership in Austin wants $4,430 to fix it including replacing the motors that are working fine due to the amount of labor involved. If I chose to not replace the working motors they will knock off $892.
Anyone have this happen to them? Does this sound crazy to anyone else?
Hello!
I am looking to see if the Audi SQ5’s tongue weight can support a dirtbike.
I have a 2022 GASGAS EC300 that weighs about 240 pounds (little more if full on fuel) and was looking into hitches and carriers to make the transportation of the bike easier.
I am a little worried about the overall tongue weight of the dirtbike+hitch carrier+any misc. gear in the back….
Does anyone have experience or thoughts here?
Thanks!
I am looking to trade my 21’ Rubicon for a 23’ SQ5. They have 3 on the lot. 2 have the magma red interior along with the sport suspension. The 3rd has a black interior, sport exhaust tip option but no sport suspension. Not sure I can handle the red interior everyday. Considering the SQ5 with the black interior and sport exhaust over the red interiors with the sport suspension. I hear the suspension is a must have but I also hear the exhaust tips are a great option. Thoughts on choosing the black interior and sport exhaust over the red interior and sport suspension?
Looking to change up my rims and wanted some outside opinions. Currently have 20s and want to stick with the size. It’s Daytona grey. Thanks!
Hey chat; over-paranoid b9.5 SQ5 owner here. Is this the piston issue?
Recently installed 034 upgraded pcv hoses and a new pcv valve on my 2019 sq5 with 80,000 miles. Brought it in the next day for some other services, and the only issues they found were high crankcase vacum and standing oil in the pcv hoses.
They suggested I double check i installed the check valves in the correct direction. I did and also verified they were working properly. And I didnt really find oil in the hoses, but I did use oil to lube the connections and it was a bit sloppy. So im guessing that is the oil they noted.
Should I be worried about the high crankcase vacum? Is there something else to check?
I also have a warning light for the rear tail light. They said they have to replace the whole assembly. Im assuming this is correct? Is this simple enough to do myself? Any suggestions on sourcing the new light assembly?
