2011 camry, had the compressor replaced less than 10 months ago, ac was working fine until temperatures hit the 90s, ac was barely giving me cold air so I decided to empty a 14oz of r134 with stop leak and now the ac doesnt work at daytime.

My engine at idle without the ac on hovers around 800rpms but when I turn the ac on it revs up to 1100 for a few seconds and comes back down over and over unless I turn the ac off. On hot days I get no cold air but at night I get plenty of cold air. I might even get a little cool air if im in the shade on a hot day.

My engine doesnt rev up and down at night with the ac on. Is there something I can do before I go to a shop?

Hi everyone, I have a 2018 GM 6.2 L86 truck with a no-start issue after replacing the lifters, cam, timing kit, and head gasket for a minor lifter tick. Before the repair it ran fine aside from the tick, but now it cranks with a very low-compression whirring sound and won’t start. Compression test shows 5 psi on all 8 cylinders. During diagnosis, removing the intake rocker on cylinder 1 made compression jump to 150 psi, and I repeated the same result on multiple cylinders across both AFM and non-AFM banks: removing the intake rocker and forcing the intake valve shut restores compression, reinstalling it drops compression again. The exhaust side does not behave this way. I rechecked timing marks with the timing cover off and timing is correct. There’s no metal in the oil/filter, pistons and cylinder walls look good on the scope, and adjusting pushrod length with an adjustable pushrod didn’t help. It seems like all intake valves are being held slightly open at the wrong time, but I can’t figure out why. Any ideas on what to check next? Thanks!

I recently purchased a set of new tires for my vehicle from my local Ford dealership. Few days later, I began getting a TPMS Sensor Fault for one of the tires. Mind you, I do not recall ever having a faulty/dead TPMS sensor outside of when a tire is removed from one of my wheels. The dealership told me to bring it in and they will inspect it for damage, and if the sensor is not damaged it means it failed on it's own and I will be on the hook to pay $200 for a new TPMS kit. Well it turned out the sensor was not damaged and they made me pay $200 just for a freaking sensor. My question is if it is possible to mess up a sensor without physically damaging it while removing a tire off a wheel and were they right or wrong for making me pay for a new sensor? Thx

2013 elantra with 160k kma, ac blows hot.

-55psi low side pressure-measured with a mechanical gauge

-ac clutch engages when commanded- can physically see

-rad fans do not come on when ac is commanded

-both rad fans can be commanded on with scan tool.

-scan tool shows ac pressure 56 psi in live data.

the system should be measuring high side ac pressure correct? if so 56 psi would be too low.

are fans not turning on because of the pressure or is system not functioning because of fans?

is the ac pressure sensor a common failure?

Do body shops hate it when someone brings car for an estimate but you could tell that it will be totaled? Because they will not be getting any business.

I'm a car dummy. Long story involving a hit and run. Is there a way for someone smarter than me to finagle this mirror in some way so I can use it before getting the final repair money?

It doesn't have to be pretty. I don't care what it looks like. I'm one of those people who can't put furniture together by myself so please don't make fun of me.

I tried duct taping it but it just falls down. It seems like you would have to tape it in a way that would make it impossible to open the door.

Any ideas for some kind of welding, rope, glue, tape, I don't know.

2012 Lexus RX350 SUV 138K miles. Saw car was leaking fluid. I got a referral to a local mechanic who advised to have car towed since I didn’t know the type of fluid and to avoid damage the engine. Had it towed on a Monday. I called him Tuesday and was told it was air-conditioning coolant and he would know more when he got it up on the lift. Wednesday told me he needed to replace the radiator and order parts: would cost $1200. Called me Saturday car ready to go! Paid, picked up the car and drove home. Monday morning drive to work and air-conditioning is not working blowing warm and then hot air :(.

I called to let him know air-conditioning is not working. He told me to bring the car back; he would take a look at it, but I need to make an appointment. I told him I was disappointed in the service and he said ..: “ I don’t know why you’re disappointed you told me you needed a new radiator and that’s what I did.” 😳😳😳I’m 67 year-old Nana, who would have a hard time finding the radiator! I have no idea why the car was leaking or if I needed a radiator!
My brother-in-law who referred me says the mechanic is a good mechanic and would never rip me off. But I feel like I’m being taken advantage of here. Do I go back or just forget it and bring the car somewhere else?
