Pure mage build, are Blast and Bounce worth investing to later into your build?

So for context, this is my first time playing Avowed. I’m going for a pure mage build, using wands and grimoires, with the exception of the Meteor Blade in my “off-hand”. I’m currently level 25 with 2 points available to spend & somewhat stuck on what I want to levelup.

Blast and Bounce have been looking at me almost the entire playthrough and I have a point in each, my question is more or less, is it worth investing into these during the final levels of the game? Despite more or less just dumping every spell I have at once in combat, I do use wands a fair bit, so I wanted to ask others how they felt about these perks.

Dynamic HUD?

Hi there, been trying to hide some HUD elements to enjoy the atmosphere (the screen is too busy and this is my first time playing sth like this) i wad surprised to see there is no dynamic hud or the option to turn some features off (at least outside the combat). It's whether hud or no hud nothing else. If you guys know a way around I'd love to hear.

Help with Performance Issues

Specs:
CPU: i5-13400
GPU: RTX 5060 (8GB)
RAM: 16GB
Windows 10
1080p, 60 Hz monitor

I just bought the game and am having stuttering issues. These manifest shortly after launch and do tend to get better as I play, but still flare up occasionally as I play.

I investigated the issue a little on my own and have some theories as to what may be going on. I have three drives on my computer - an SSD where Windows and Steam are installed, an SSD that Avowed is installed on, and an unrelated HDD. When Avowed loads, Task Manager shows my HDD is 100% active for some bizarre reason. Stuttering is pretty much 100% correlated with spikes in the HDD being active. I thought this may be because my computer was running out of RAM and writing to the pagefile on the HDD, but after configuring my settings so the HDD had no pagefile allowed (and the SSD with Avowed did), Avowed is still is using the HDD for some reason. I do still suspect it might be a RAM issue, as Task Manager shows 15.1-15.5 GB used out of the available 15.8 GB during launch, but I'm not sure.

I'm also experiencing an issue where when closing the game, the game doesn't actually fully close and continues running in the background until hit the "Stop Game" button on Steam. This is apparently a common issue based on a google search, but have the devs seriously not fixed this issue since launch?

Also, I tried using this performance "mod" (editing the Engine.ini file) but it had no effect.

Any help would be appreciated, including ways to try and reduce the RAM usage so I can see if that's the problem. The game supposedly should be able to run on 16 GB of RAM (and I'm not running any other programs while I play) so if it is a RAM issue that's pretty frustrating. I'm not interested in buying more RAM right now with prices as crazy as they are.

Just finished Avowed. I can't tell if I think it's a good game or if I just like the lore of the world which made the adventure enjoyable. Either way I did enjoy it!

What is going on with the brightness of the interiors in this game? Is there any way I can fix it? I couldn't find any mod that fix this and changing gamma down makes the game way too dark.

English is not my main language and I have some trouble finding the words while talking in it, there are some grammar and spelling mistakes there, just ignore that :P.

yeah, there are skills, there are locations to hide and seek, but every time i try do something my companions just tank everyone so the stealth go away from the chat and every monster start to see me no matter what.

today i learned that if you try to walk on the fabric hanging around paradis they actually tear and you fall through

i had no idea, this is my 4th run of the game lmao. i was doing some parkour in the city and honestly i assumed those fabrics are either 1) "transparent" like you will just fall through them or 2) they are "hard" material you can walk on. because some fabrics in this game (and most games really) Are either "transparent" or "hard". so its really interesting that the devs not only thought that someone would try walking on these but they also added a whole animation and sound effect of this fabric tearing apart and you falling through. i think thats great attention to detail! i have never really seen this happening in any other game.

(2nd photo is the same fabric before i tried walking on it and the 1st one is after)

PS5 Pro seems to offer almost double the performance of base PS5/SX on Avowed

Just wanted to say how impressed I am with Avowed on PS5 Pro.

Quality mode which runs about 35fps max on Series X seems to run as much as 65fps on PS5 Pro.

Paired with VVR and a compatible monitor, I’ve been able to get mostly 60+ frames on PS5 Pro to the point that minus some minor additional flair, it runs better than a RTX 4090 on PC (in terms of experience not raw performance) due to shader compilation stutter that seems constant, and upon searching its consistent until your second playthrough.

Had there been no unlocked framerate option, would have been a very meh PS5 Pro enhancement but I think more games should unlock framerate to get better raw performance because the raw performance boost is super impressive.

What are the chances that avowed will get more content updates?

I’m a new player who just got to the second main area and I’ve been learning about all the stuff obsidian added.

Companions lagging/choppiness with Xbox series x

Hey all- does anyone know how to fix this issue? You can see Kai here is choppy/laggy. It happens to Marius too. It happens out in the world and not just in conversations as well.

Sometimes the audio gets weird as I'm exploring the world and it's distracting.

I hear it may be due to performance mode? I can't change to quality mode or whatever because that would make my entire game lag.

EDIT: the lag is way more noticeable on my TV compared to this video.

Why does the game not tell you beforehand that there's a new game plus

I would have kept a lot of that gear to try out a different build instead of breaking it down

I love the game, but sadly can't keep playing because of performance

Hello, people!

I scrolled through the XBOX game pass and saw that Avowed is in there. I was really, really interested. Downloaded it, started it. The performance is atrocious. Might be my pc's fault, I don't know. But I am definitely not able to properly play like this...

My specs:
NVIDIA GeForce 3070 Ti
32.0 GB RAM
12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700KF

Even with everything on low, DLSS or FSR on ultra performance. Insane low fps, full stutter. Which is pretty sad. I got this pc a few weeks ago, after years of not having one. I really thought I can finally easily play newer games, but apparently it was wishful thinking. Can't play most of the games that I was hyped to play.

Even installed this one mod that "gives better performance" - nothing changed. It's really sad, because I played like an hour or more, but the fps kept dropping more and more, so that it got unbearable. If you guys got any questions, please just ask. Please also try to be friendly, I am a complete pc noob. I barely know anything. I am just sad when games won't have a nice performance on my pc and then follow some optimisation guides.

Thanks!
