It really bothers me that the players do not act in a way that shows that they have an awareness of the clock.

I just finished watching the Bananas' most recent game, as the visitors against the Party Animals in Oregon.

The game went into the 8th inning with the Bananas trailing 4-1. Then the Bananas scored seven runs in the 8th inning.

The clock was down to only a few minutes; if the clock were to run out during the bottom of the 8th inning, then the Bananas' seven runs in the top of the inning would be converted into points, and they would be leading 8-4, with three or fewer outs to go to win the game. The announcers even mentioned that the clock could run out.

But the Bananas inexplicably did not play any more slowly than usual in the bottom of the 8th, and so the clock did not run out.

Honestly, this is infuriating. I have had several discussions with people about how legitimate the competition in this league is. I consistently take the position that the competition is real; and I am having a great deal of fun following the Bananas and the rest of the league.

But when players refuse to act in their team's interest, that makes me doubt my own argument, and makes me wonder whether I should pay so much attention to this.

Brett Loftis and Drake Toll had an interesting conversation during the rain delay tonight. They were each putting up their choices for MVP, Best Pitchers etc.

Which made me think that in this league we should also have MEP. Most Entertaining Player.

If it was an award, who are your candidates?

Wolf certainly has a claim, and I imagine people would name Klena (not my favorite, but to each his own.)

But I've got a nominee out of left field. I nominate Denae Benites.

If you've ever seen the Coconuts in person it's almost impossible not to watch as she dances and interacts with the crowd in front of the dugout. Much like Bret Helton, she's always engaged with the fans and the action on the field.

(And please don't interpret this as something creepy. I'm old enough to be the woman's father. I just appreciate the energy.)

I got an idea for an expansion team for banana ball based out of the old Oakland Colesium. We can call the team the Oakland Sideshows and have a burnout O as the cap logo. I feel like this would go well with banana ball themeing of combining hype party culture and professional sports (which Oakland is now lacking on the sports side but not the hype side)and fit the team name theming with the Party Animals and Clowns. Colors could be black, silver, and green (maybe accented with yellow). I could also see getting a sponsorship with Hyphy burger and bring the Hyphy bus onto the field before games. They could also possibly have an area of the parking lot for professional drivers to do burnouts (burnout homerun celebration).

Thoughts?

Not sure if anyone has attempted to play this outside the Jomez video but I'm TDing a Disc Golf Newfoundland tour stop in August and we are going to attempt a side event of Banana Frolf for fun.

Can anyone help me with rules and general gameplay? Im scrubbing the video and writing what I can down but if you've played and have things that have worked for you, please suggest or give some ideas.
