City Senior Beagle

As my lil buddy Sarge gets older he can’t venture as far as he used to be able to due to his hips. He is loving the backpack life though!

I’ll walk to the water or a park and let him down to roam and sniff until his heart is content and then back up in the pack. Living his best life as he deserves. Treats all the way!

Walking

hey guys my beagle is 5 months old and was wondering about tips when It comes to walking. She doesn’t pull that hard but her nose is always to the ground and can’t walk in a straight line lol. Is this just beagle hound behavior? Will it get better with time? Am I not training her correctly? Please let me
Know any advice is appreciated.

Moira Rose

Yes, she is named after the character played by the late Catherine O’hara (RIP Queen) and yes she is just as dramatic as her namesake 😂😂😂

She is something like 90% beagle with a tiny drop of border collie and Brittany spaniel… but I can’t see anything but beagle when I look at her. She’s definitely smart, though, smarter than the last beagle we had.

Anyway, that’s my soul dog right there lol!!

Leaving my beagle with my family to move to the United States

This is my best friend Suki. I had been wanting a dog for so long (since I was a little kid) and when I turned 21 my mom finally decided to adopt a 3 month old beagle. I do everything with Suki, she is my best friend and the living being I have spent the most amount of time with over the past 4 years.
It makes me very sad that now I am leaving her behind with my family as I am moving from Portugal to the United States to finally live with my wife. I can't justify bringing her with me as she would almost certainly be traumatized by the whole experience and also my mom has grown too attached to her, as has all my family.
Thankfully my mom has a big garden so Suki will keep spending time outside, we'll also hire someone to walk her but with the date of my move approaching (September 17) approaching, I can't help but feel so much sadness over not getting to experience seeing her grow up and old.
Obviously I am very excited to finally start a life with my wife and I'm grateful that Suki has such a great environment to live her life and I'll visit, but it feels like this chapter of my life is ending.

She’s debating if my food is worth coming to me. It’s a tomato sandwich and she decided it ain’t worth getting up.

anybody else’s beagle like to step on your chest and stare directly into your face?

pic unrelated, but of the starer in question.

sometimes she won’t even lick me or try to play, she’ll just stand there and stare at me with maybe an inch or two of distance between her nose and mine! it’s the cutest thing ever but it really confused the vet yesterday when she did it after getting her shots, LOL

Hugging my puppy closer and tighter today

Trixie lost her brother Sirius today, and her other brother Gryffin isn’t out of the woods yet - he got diagnosed with distemper yesterday, same as Sirius (diagnosed Saturday).

Hugging her a little closer and tighter and really hoping she did not catch the virus.

"Calm??...calm...??" You keep using that word - I do not think it means what you think it means.

The look of indignation to resignation during bath time

Douglas is a beagle basset mix. Douglas tolerates a bath only because he gets to walk around the store and eat spilled kibble off the floor and pick out a treat after. You would never know by the looks he gives me throughout the process. I even let him skip the dryer since he hates it so much.
