Renewing passport?

How risky would it be to return back to Belarus to renew my passport after it expired last year? Currently living in the US and I renewed back in 2015. My only concern is my public "anti Lukashenko stance" propaganda on social media from a few years ago. My childhood best friend was imprisoned in 2021 following the protests and they found her through social media

Learning Belarusian

Hi, sorry for the burner account, I'm embarrassed to share that I'd like to learn the language for my friend just yet so I'm trying to keep it a secret for a little while.

I'm sure there's a lot of posts asking this already, but I wanted to reach out and ask if anyone here was willing to help me learn?

I'm doing a lot of researching on my own, but I'm finding the best way for me to learn alphabet/simple phrases thus far has been through repetition and conversation... and I'm too bashful to share it with my belarusian friend.

I'm just looking for someone who's willing to make a little small talk with me each day and answer any questions I have (there won't be many big ones I promise). Any help is more than appreciated!

I use discord most, but I can reply anywhere really.

Thank you!

Is it hard for a english speaking person to find a job?

I am going trough really bad defamation and attacks by my own government here in Europe.

I am planning to sell what I have left and move to Belarus. How hard is it for someone to work there with only English?

The situation is dire for me here I am tired of the fake democracy we live in its more like a technocracy, the whole Europe is also corrupt as hell and I want to go somewhere outside Europe permanently.

Haven't done anything or running to escape something but 4g and 5g beaming tech is real that's all I can say without being called crazy, any help and tips will be grateful.

How long is boot camp for the military?

Hi sorry if my terminology is wrong. I have an online friend who lives in Belarus and it’s been about 3 weeks since he’s enlisted in the army. How long is the whole bootcamp process or just in general until he can get his phone back? I just miss my friend and hope to hear how he’s doing soon :(

Question on getting to Mound of Glory /

I recently saw in this subreddit that bus line 395в goes to the Mound of Glory, but I couldn’t find any information on getting back to Minsk from the mound. Does anyone know if there is a bus that goes back, and if so, which one? I’m not all too familiar with the public transportation in Belarus so any help is much appreciated.

Spotify | Bandcamp | Apple Music | YouTube Music | YouTube

Visiting Belarus after leaving for asylum

My husband is Belarusian, he came the the united states about 13 years ago when he was 19 years old. He came for political asylum, from what I understand he got into some trouble due to attending protests.

He just became a US citizen this year, and he really wants to visit to see his family. Would this be dangerous for him? Im worried the border patrol might realize what he did in the past and cause problems for us.

Dual citizen considering Belarus trip after visiting Ukraine – border questions & travel advice

Hi everyone,

Belarus is actually a country I’ve wanted to visit for a very long time as a tourist. From everything I’ve seen online, it looks beautiful, unique, and very interesting culturally, and I also have the impression that many of the people there are kind, warm, and welcoming.

I’m looking for honest advice from people who have recently travelled to Belarus or who are familiar with the current border and travel situation.

I hold both an EU passport and another non EU passport that allows visa free entry for up to 90 days. I’ve had a strong interest in Eastern Europe and post Soviet countries for many years, and I genuinely feel much more connected to the culture, mentality, nightlife, people, and overall atmosphere there compared to Western Europe. Beyond tourism itself, I’m also open to dating seriously and hopefully finding a long term partner or future wife from the region one day.

My Russian is still very basic, around A1 level, but I’m actively learning.

For some background, I already visited Ukraine during the current war period and entered without any problems using my EU passport. Now I’m considering visiting Belarus for around 1–2 weeks later this summer, and I have a few questions for people with actual experience:

• Could a previous visit to Ukraine create problems or additional scrutiny when entering Belarus?

• Has anyone here visited both Ukraine and Belarus using the same passport recently?

• Are Belarusian border officers currently asking detailed questions about travel history, political opinions, social media, or phone contents?

• If I visit Belarus now, could that realistically create issues with visiting Ukraine again later in the future?

• Which passport would make more sense to use in the current situation?

From my understanding, I’ll likely need hotel reservations arranged in advance, local registration after several days, and enough USD/EUR cash since many foreign bank cards may not work properly there.

I’d really appreciate hearing from people with recent firsthand experience crossing these borders or spending time in Belarus lately. Thanks in advance.

Thank you

And hope to visit soon

Flying from Moscow

Hello everyone 👋 so I am an Irish citizen living in Belarus. I have a permanent residence permit/ вид на жительство. About a year or two ago it became ok for me to travel to Russia with this document.

My question is can I travel from Moscow to China with this? Not the China part of course that is different. I mean can I leave from Russia and come back in to Russia with this?
