Swing Tackle Situation

The fact that the Bengals are trying out Jalen Rivers at swing tackle tells you all you need to know regarding Cody Ford.

Rivers isn’t it at OT. We know it and they know it. Ford clearly isn’t making the Bengals feel comfortable with him as the option at swing tackle.

It’s a rough situation in Cincinnati surrounding the swing tackle position.

Free to Read: The Cincinnati Bengals are running out of time to solve these 2 offensive questions

A focus of that evaluation on offensive is unfolding behind the starters on the offensive line and at receiver.

Specifically, the competition for the swing tackle position behind starters Orlando Brown Jr. and Amarius Mims didn’t produce a trustworthy answer, so the team pulled 2025 fifth-round pick Jalen Rivers over from guard to left tackle to see if he could offer a new solution.

At receiver, the playmaking behind Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins challenged the school of thought about who could play what role in this offense. Players including fourth-round pick Colbie Young and camp star Dohnte Meyers, behind Andrei Iosivas, have the organization wondering about the possibilities for their roles.

A bittersweet memory. This trophy should be sitting in Cincinnati.

It was a surge of emotion when I watch Donald chased down Burrow. One or two more seconds could had made the difference. We could had been champions… That 2021 team really grew on me.

Cashius Howell

How did he look? I feel like there hasn’t been much hype or news at all surrounding him, unless I may have missed it

I got high hopes since he was our first pick after the trade. He was the sec defensive player of the year and majority of them have turned out to be dawgs apparently

Roquan smith, pat Surtain, will anderson to name a few

Revisiting the Bengals’ 3 positions of biggest concern midway through camp

The Bengals’ three most notable positions of concern prior to the start of training camp were linebacker, cornerback and offensive tackle. Some might even throw running back into the mix on a slow news day.

Each of those positions experienced a boost of confidence or a seed of concern since players reported to camp three weeks ago. With less than four weeks to go before the Bengals’ season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, let’s look at how each position has changed, potential options going forward and what matters over the next stage of camp.

The Cincinnati Bengals have placed Cornerback Ceyair Wright on the Exempt/Left Squad list as he was "offered the lead role in a big movie he can't pass up". Wright will be eligible for reinstatement after filming wraps in October. In the meantime, he will not count against the 90-man roster.
