Trip Advice….please!

Hi! This will be our first time visiting Bermuda.
Here are the deets: (I was hoping someone might help me with an itinerary to maximize our time!)

Second week of September
Cruise ship docking at 8 am for an overnight stay
So we will have I full day and have to be back on the ship by 2pm the second day
4 adults

I’ve read that public transport is the way to go and am going to download the app prior. I really can’t justify spending the amount of money for some of these excursions.

We would like to do the following:
Relaxing beach time (at least a few hours)
Crystal Caves
Hamilton (shopping/food)
Cooper’s Nature Reserve?
Swizzle Inn
Horseshoe Bay

I’m not sure the best order to do the above. Or open to additional suggestions. If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated!
Thanks in Advance!

Rents in Bermuda

I am considering an offer from Big 4 in Bermuda of around BMD 90K. I wanted to know the average rent for 1 bed apartment for me and my husband. I tried to do my research (propertyskipper, FB groups, emoo) and didn’t find much listings to arrive at a number. If the locals/expats can help share the current situation for me to do the math of if the offer makes sense or not.

Thank you

Any thoughts or comments would be very much appreciated !

Itinerary help - thank you!

This will be our second time visiting Bermuda.

We'll be staying in the Dockyard area. We are 42 and 37 years old. We enjoy hiking and my husband enjoys snorkeling. And we like doing things off the beaten path.

Our second day we plan on taking the bus to Horseshoe Bay and hiking over to Jobson Cove. We'd spend a lot of time there and then stop at the lighthouse on the way back.

Our first day, my plan was taking the number 7 bus to Hog Bay Park and trying to time it right for low tide. Is there a bus stop nearby? Or should we tell the driver our plan? After Hog Bay I thought it might be fun to jump on the Railtrail - walking to the Fort and possibly to Somerset Village. Is this doable? Too ambitious? I'll take better suggestions too.

For food, I'm vegan. Does anyone have any recommendations for restaurants near where we'll be?

Well be there on a Monday and Tuesday.

Thank you!

Need lunch and beach recommendations

Hello, I am going on a cruise in two weeks that stops in Bermuda each day.

Spending one day doing the caves and Hamilton. Where should I eat lunch there?

The other two days I want to go to nice beach clubs where you can order food to chairs, etc. but they all see to be at hotels where you have to be guest.

Any and all recs welcome!!

Considering a job, what salary is needed?

I have an offer for Bermuda. If I want to be able to save $100,000/year, what salary would allow me to do so after all expenses considered? The only expense i have an idea budget for is housing; about $4 to $5k per month. Id like to enjoy my time so eating out and hobbies are a must. Would a $220k salary allow me to save $100k a year?

Cheapest twizzy hire for a month

I'm looking to hire a twizzy for a month, but the prices look mental. Can anyone recommend a company that has a decent rate for a month?

I'd like to spend no more than $2000 if possible... is that possible? 🫣

Anyone running the Bermuda Triangle Challenge this January?

Curious if anyone here is running one of the races this January!

My running coach friend and I are bringing a small group over from the US for the weekend. We’ll have runners doing different distances and are turning it into a few days of exploring Bermuda as well.

Would love any local recommendations for race weekend + January in Bermuda. And if anyone else is running, would be fun to connect while we're there!

Proposal trip

Looking for some advice about a trip to Bermuda in September. I thought it would be a good time to propose to my girlfriend whilst we are on the island.

Trying to decide on the hotel options and wondering if anyone has any advice?

Also, does anyone have any recommendations on proposal locations or a photographer?

Thank you!

Edit: thank you all for the responses, very helpful!

Doggy Day Care?

Hi All, we got a dog over the summer and as I am going back to work in September we are looking for some doggy day care options and I am struggling to find good info online, so I was wondering if anybody had any experience? We live in Warwick and work in Hamilton so ideally we don't want to be going too far out of the way! Thanks for your help!

Beach recommendations

Going on a cruise to Bermuda in a couple weeks very excited. I am looking for some beach recommendations. I have been to horseshoe bay but it gets so crowded. Is there any other beaches you can rent chairs and umbrellas from? I can’t see to find anything online.

SCUBA gear rental in Bermuda?

My wife and I are spending our honeymoon in Bermuda in about a week and want to do some shore diving while we’re there - but I am having an extremely hard time finding someone / someplace to rent gear from (BCD, regulator, weight belt, tank) without it being for a booked dive tour. I’m NAUI certified and I can bring my BCD and reg if absolutely necessary but would still need to rent a tank and weight belt while there.

Does anyone have recommendations or connections on the island? I have never had this kind of difficulty finding rental gear before and would hate to end up just snorkeling.

Public Schools in Southampton - Comparison

Hello everyone. I just moved to Bermuda and was seeking advice regarding public schools which I understand a student can only go to a lower primary within Parish.

Southampton parish: Port Royal vs Dalton E Tucker. Which one stands out academically first and in extra-curricular activities?

Thanks
