Is this ok? Isn't this plagiarism?

Look, I love RTS and Sci-Fi just as the next geek nerd, but I don't think this is nice.

Leaving the Krogan aside, since we still need to see his face, the Asari and Turians were blatantly plagiarized.

It’s not like they used “elves” or “fairies,” which are traditional folklore and mythology from around the world and aren’t copyrighted. But these are intellectual properties owned by BioWare and EA, aren’t they?

It’s like Tencent’s Light of Motiram, which plagiarized Horizon and was sued over it.
As a Mass Effect fan and someone who loves both RPGs and RTSs, I found it incredibly disrespectful. Was it really that difficult to come up with some original races instead of copying from somewhere else? Especially when they’re copying from an established IP with copyright protection?

Mass Effect 2 is a Good Game Just a Bad Sequel

Let me start off by saying this: Mass Effect 2 is a good game as a standalone game. But as a sequel it’s a terrible game. Let me explain why. At the beginning, Miranda exposed the council’s incompetence of sending Shepard to hunt down Geth, despite the fact that they’re only part of the problem. And the whole hero worship of Shepard is the only reason why that Cerberus spend a significant amount of money to bring him/her back from the dead.

Because Shepard is a “bloody icon.” You would think that Cerberus would spend resources to build an independent army, their own scientists, researchers, spies, etc to combat the Reaper threat without the help of the Alliance or the Council. Another thing that I do not like about Mass Effect 2 is why did the Collectors all of the sudden attacked The Normandy? And the explanation that the Collectors are send by Harbinger because the destruction of Sovereign that the game said that Shepard took Sovereign down single handedly is problematic.

To me, It feels like a ego trip that Shepard did it all by him/herself, despite the combined efforts of Shepard’s team, the Alliance, and the Citadel fleet took part in stopping Saren and Sovereign from opening the Citadel for the Reapers to invade. Also, Shepard’s body would not survive crashing on not a planet, because the re entry of high speed alone could create intense heat, and friction in extreme temperatures. Which would mean that Shepard’s body would disintegrate, meaning Project Lazarus is a complete bust. Even if they somehow recovered the body, why would they spend their resources to bring back one human being, if they could spend those resources to create an army of their own?

And the purpose to stop the Collectors has absolutely nothing to do to be prepared for the Reapers. It’s just a side quest that has no affect of the main threat. Also, the whole Collectors kidnapping humans to create a human reaper absolutely makes no sense at all. Why would the Collectors specifically kidnap humans of all things? This is why I do not like the story of Mass Effect 2 to begin with, because the entire thing is to shut down the collectors. And the galaxy is still at stake because of the arrival of the Reapers. And the discovery of a 37 million year old Reaper should’ve been used as evidence to notify the Council that the Reapers are not a Geth creation. Also, Shepard and the crew should’ve been indoctrinated when they’re nearby the Reaper. How are they able to withstand the Reaper’s signal and not be indoctrinated? This is a very big deal and it’s like the writers just hand wave its own lore as they go along and using plot armor because Shepard is an unstoppable hero.

isnt it a good thing if EA sells bioware?

EA being the typical corpo damaged Bioware's IPs by forcing them to make an online dragon age then after years realise it was a stupid decision and change the entire process again and more, they are just about pure greed.

So shouldnt we be happy they sell bioware? Or will they be keeping the IPs somehow? Cause i think getting mass effect/dragon age games away from EA is only a good thing

Who are the true successors to BioWare?

I’m curious as to which other companies have shown mastery in the team-based, well-written ensembles we used to see in Dragon Age and Mass Effect.

Owlcat comes to mind! I’d welcome other suggestions. Thank you!

What If Sony Interactive Entertainment bought BioWare back in 2003 rather than BioWare being bought by EA Games back in 2008
