Hiring: Experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper for B2B Consumer Electronics Business — Remote

I’m looking for a **highly competent and experienced accountant/bookkeeper based in Pakistan** to help me properly organize and maintain the financial records of my B2B consumer electronics business.
This is **not just an invoice-entry job**. I need someone who actually understands accounting and can help me build a proper financial system from the ground up.
**About the business**
I operate a B2B consumer electronics wholesale/middleman business, dealing with customers and suppliers on relatively large transactions. The business involves buying/sourcing products from suppliers and selling them to B2B customers, often with significant transaction values.
My biggest problem right now is that my bookkeeping/accounting has basically been neglected. I have invoices, orders, supplier records, payment records, bank transactions, WhatsApp/email records, etc., but they’re not organized into a proper accounting system.
I need someone who can come in and **clean everything up and establish a proper system going forward.**
**What I need help with**
**Initial cleanup/reconstruction:**
Organize existing business transactions
Reconcile sales with customer payments
Reconcile supplier purchases/payments
Organize invoices and receipts
Identify outstanding customer receivables
Identify outstanding supplier payables
Calculate historical COGS and gross profit
Separate business expenses from actual deal costs
Reconcile bank/payment accounts
Help reconstruct historical P&L as accurately as possible
**Ongoing bookkeeping:**
Record every sale
Record supplier purchases/COGS
Track customer receivables
Track supplier payables
Track business expenses
Bank reconciliation
Maintain proper ledgers
Monthly closing
Monthly P&L
Balance sheet
Cash-flow reporting
Gross/net profit tracking
Invoice/payment tracking
Keep everything organized and audit-friendly
**Software**
I’m open to using whatever is appropriate, but I’m currently considering **Zoho Books / Zoho Invoice, QuickBooks Online, or Xero**.
I want the accountant to help me choose the most suitable system rather than simply forcing me into whatever software they already know.
**What I’m looking for**
I’m specifically looking for someone who:
Has **at least 3–5 years of real accounting/bookkeeping experience**
Has worked with **SMEs / trading / wholesale / distribution businesses**
Understands **COGS, gross profit, net profit, AR/AP and bank reconciliation**
Is extremely detail-oriented
Can work independently without needing to be told every little thing
Has experience with accounting software
Is comfortable dealing with relatively large-value transactions
Has excellent Excel/Google Sheets skills
Can communicate clearly in English
Understands that accuracy is extremely important
Can explain accounting concepts to a business owner in simple terms
**ACCA / CA / CMA / relevant accounting qualification is strongly preferred**, but practical experience and competence matter more to me than just having a qualification on paper.
**Compensation**
I’m looking for someone **part-time initially and preferably hourly**, rather than hiring full-time immediately.
I’m thinking around 3-4$**/hour depending on experience and capability**, but I’m open to discussing the rate with the right person.
I would initially set a defined number of hours for the cleanup/reconstruction, then potentially continue with ongoing monthly bookkeeping if everything works well.
I’m more interested in finding someone **really good and trustworthy** than finding the cheapest person.
**Important**
Please don’t apply if your experience is mainly:
Basic data entry
Simple Excel bookkeeping
Making invoices
Basic personal accounting
I need someone who genuinely understands **double-entry bookkeeping and financial accounting** and can take ownership of the books.
**To apply**
Please comment or DM me with:
Your accounting qualification(s)
Years of experience
Types of businesses you’ve handled
Experience with wholesale/trading/distribution businesses
Accounting software you’re experienced with
Your hourly rate
Whether you’ve handled bookkeeping for foreign/US businesses or US LLCs
A brief description of the most complicated bookkeeping/accounting cleanup you’ve personally handled
**Please send your CV/profile if available.**
I’m happy to start with a **small paid trial/initial cleanup project** before committing to ongoing work.

Looking to connect with experienced bookkeepers for future work

Hey everyone, figured I’d put this out there and start some conversations with anyone who might be interested.

A little background on me. I currently work in consulting and a big part of my job is discovery, understanding what a client actually needs, scoping the work, estimating the effort, and then making sure the right people are brought in to actually deliver it. I’ve also spent a lot of time around payroll, payroll tax, year end, W-2s, 941s, implementations, etc.

I’m currently going through the Intuit bookkeeping program because I want to get much stronger on the actual bookkeeping/accounting side myself. I’m definitely not coming on here pretending that I’m already some senior bookkeeper or CPA lol. I’m learning, and I want to keep learning.

What I am good at is the client side of the business. Sales, discovery, scoping, consulting, managing relationships, setting expectations, organizing projects, things like that.

So what I’m looking to eventually build is pretty simple. I handle finding the clients, qualifying them, scoping the work, pricing it (in accordance with the work), onboarding them, and managing the relationship. Then I work with experienced bookkeepers who are stronger than me on the actual delivery side.

It'd be cool to find maybe 1 or 2 people who have some bandwidth and would be interested in this kind of setup long term.

I also want to be upfront about the money side because I know there are a lot of posts out there looking for cheap bookkeeping labor but that isn’t what I’m trying to do

My plan would be to scope every client and engagement first, work with you to understand what the work actually requires, understand what you would fairly charge to do it, and then price the client accordingly. I would add my margin on top for bringing in the business, managing the client, handling the sales/operations side, etc.

I’m not trying to make my margin by cutting someone else’s rate. If the client can’t support paying the person doing the work fairly, I probably shouldn’t be taking that client in the first place.

I’d also really like to work with people who don’t mind me being involved and learning along the way. Not micromanaging or looking over your shoulder, but actually understanding how you approach the books, why you’re making certain decisions, how you close the month, what you’re looking for. I want to become genuinely competent at this myself while building the business.

I don’t have a bunch of clients ready to hand out tomorrow, so I don’t want to misrepresent that either. Right now I’m really just trying to get general thoughts on this approach BUT more importantly meet some good people, understand what kind of work you like doing, your experience, rates, availability, and see if there might be a fit as I start putting this together.

If that sounds interesting let's talk, if you've seen this kind of approach fail miserably that'd be cool to know too haha

Just looking to start some conversations and see where it goes. Thanks everybody!

Bookkeeping using Xero

I run a CPA firm that's also a Xero Partner. We've been using Xero for over 12 years and have helped set up and migrate 200+ businesses, tailoring Xero workflows for each client to the way the business actually operates.

If you're moving from QuickBooks, MYOB, Wave, or another accounting system, need help cleaning up your Xero account, or just want someone to handle your bookkeeping requirements.

Even if you're not looking to hire anyone right now, I'm always happy to answer questions about Xero or bookkeeping if you're stuck on something.

Feel free to send me a DM if you'd like to chat about your bookkeeping or Xero setup.
