Aldi on Fulton st

Hi! Does anyone know if the freezers and fridges are functional at this Aldi? They were off for the heatwave but I’m not walking distance so I don’t wanna waste my time and $6 if they’re still down. Thanks

Best rental buildings in Brooklyn Heights?

Hi all! My husband & I are looking at moving to Brooklyn Heights or Downtown Brooklyn soon (budget <6.5K for a 1.5-2 bed).

In your opinion, what are the best buildings to try living in? e.g Good management, no rats/nice, rent-stabilized a huge bonus…

Would need to have dishwasher & washer-dryer in unit. Flexible on everything else.

Just looking to hear from people who’ve been in BH/DB a while if you’ve had good experiences with any rental buildings or know friends who are happy in theirs.

Promenade Viewing 4th of July

Hey neighbors — I just filled out the form for tickets to the Promenade viewing center for the 4th of July. I was wondering if anyone has done it before and knows how the actual process works; especially if they check ID's for people to match the tickets? I wasn't 100% sure which of my friends will be joining me and don't want anyone turned away the day of. Here is what the actual form info said:

"The City of New York is opening the Brooklyn Heights Promenade for a modest number of community members to view the fireworks on July 4th.  Tickets are required to enter the Promenade.  These tickets are for residents of zip codes 11201 and 11217.  Tickets are available first-come, first-served.  Local residents who successfully complete this form will have official tickets emailed to them directly on Friday, July 3. You must have tickets to enter the Promenade on July 4th."

Who created the stick library?

Located on Columbia Pl at Joralemon, the stick library is one of the cutest things I’ve seen in Brooklyn Heights. There’s always high quality selections of sticks too. Just curious, whose idea was this?

top 3 things your neighbours called 311 about this week

People here really hate how others park their cars it is kinda crazy. If you look at the numbers illegal parking is way at the top with 387 calls which is wild like almost 400 people complaining about parking in just one week is a lot. Then for the second one we have residential noise with 66 calls which is probably just loud music or people walking too heavy upstairs because that is just classic NYC apartment life. And the last one is street and sidewalk noise with 37 calls from people talking too loud outside or honking horns which is pretty standard stuff around here.
