When I saw “No Retreat, No Surrender” at the movie theater in 1986, not only did I love it, but I told my friends that the Russian guy was gonna be a huge star in the future haha. Any fans here of No Retreat, No Surrender?

Ellen DeGeneres (comedian) would’ve knocked out Bruce Lee (1940-1973) in a street fight

One time, I saw a fan coming up to Ellen and started talking smack about her and her sister and she said “what’d you say about my sister???” and she knocked the fan out in just one punch.

Fun facts about Ellen:

\- She’s a comedian

\- Has blonde hair

\- Married to Taylor Swift

\- Has a YouTube channel

\- Is American

\- 27 years old

\- Ran for president

Conversing with Bruce Lee on Martial Arts (interview)

In August of 1965, Bruce attended a martial art panel in Hong Kong with other kung fu teachers in attendance including Sifu Siu Hon-San and Chang Chin-ting. Bruce critiques and questions traditional martial arts, how ineffective forms practice is for real world combat and emphasizes realistic training, putting the whole body behind the strikes and being able to strike in any position with full power.

During this time, Bruce was visiting his family in Hong Kong along with his wife Linda and Brandon from May 7th to September of that year.

Bruce Lee:“Be water, my friend.”

“Empty your mind. Be formless, shapeless, like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle. You put it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can flow, or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”

Am I the only one who finds this kind of tribute merchandising uncomfortable?

I saw this collection coming out recently, and according to Complex it was meant as a tribute for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, using Bruce Lee as the main inspiration.

Honestly, I do think a few pieces from the collection are pretty beautiful, especially some of the jackets and pants.

What I don’t understand is why they had to print his face directly onto the clothes, and even use his name on the belt buckle.

This is already a pretty big fashion brand, and even though they legally have permission to use his image, I still feel like it’s being pushed a little too far commercially.

And if the collection is supposed to represent or celebrate AAPI Heritage Month through Bruce Lee’s image, I honestly don’t know what meaningful value or contribution actually came out of it for the community beyond selling products.

$400 for a belt and we’re still calling this a tribute?

Reflection. Like the hall of mirrors. To truly know one self is to be completely at ease with absolutely everything about you. Recognition of every thought, every movement. Bruce was spiritual and material. Not shifting from one to the other. But simultaneously existing in two planes.

If anyone wants to proclaim that this man didn't know what he was talking about.... You're wrong.

He was a fighter. A philosopher. A body scientist. He got some things wrong. That's the whole point.

I'll love this man until I die... And I'll forever love my dad for probably unknowingly introducing me at such a young age. It kind of messed things up. I was a karate student at 10 years of age. Fighting tournaments.

Bruce taught me fluidity. To not be rigid. To allow what comes, and pretty much let it destroy itself.

This is the lead up to his death. It's very significant to me. I never got to share the Earth with him. So I get sad and inspired at the same time. And I know that is what he would have wanted to come from his untimely finish.

R. I. P. Sifu. Almost 53 years since you left us, yet your ripples continue
