Official: MINTYUKOV SIGNED! 5 Years / $36 Million ($7.2 million per year)
Pavel Mintyukov has officially been signed to a contract by the Anaheim Ducks. GM Pat Verbeek finally did something before a guy missed all of training camp. Maybe he's actually learned a lesson in all of this. I hope so.
Good to have Mintyukov signed and in town for another five years. The Ducks homegrown defensive depth with him, LaCombe, Luneau, Solberg, Hinds, Warren and Smith will be the envy of the league for years to come.

Stanley cup champs puck came in the mail today, collections looking mighty fine
Just caught this at my local Walgreens. (They said they got them a few days after we won the Cup.)
Day with the cup
Hello from Germany,
do you know when the „day with the cup“ schedule will be announced? I live in Hamburg, Germany and would like to drive the 185 miles to Freddy Andersens hometown Herning, Denmark when he brings the cup there.
Thanks in advance.

What’s next for a canes collection?
I feel like I have it all, sticks, jerseys, posters, vintage memorabilia, modern stuff, unique items.
My collection is huge but after this Stanley cup win, the fanatics merchandise just doesn’t scratch the itch of wanting to add to my collection due to it being well…. Fanatics.
Any ideas of something unique/special to add to a collection that seems to have it all already?

sportsnet.caWhat’s the obsession with Hellebuyck?
I think it’s really easy in sports for people to be attracted to “proven names” rather than looking at what is right in front of you.
Bussi went on a historical season run.
Won 3 straight (if you don’t count the OT loss) in the SCF to win the cup.
Do some of you think you can get a higher ceiling than that? Or that over 35+ games it’s a fluke? If anything it’s the same player. I’m just not sure why everyone is so fast to write off our tandem that we have now. Connor is a great goalie for sure. And it would make sense if Freddy got hurt. Bussi came in and allowed 5 and lost. And then PK came in and lost the next 2 or something. Then yea, we need a goalie.
But for crying out loud. I think we have two legit goalies. Why add a 3rd to this equation?
Sincere question. Not looking to argue. I’m just surprised at the hype tbh
Can someone who knows hockey better than me explain HOW we won 3 in a row to win the cup?
The first half of the series felt pretty hopeless in my opinion. We snuck one OT win, but lost game one after a strong start through getting outpaced the longer the game went on (something Vegas had done a number of times to get to the cup). Our incredible defense which SMOTHERED every other team, had holes poked in it by the vgk right at the start, and even game 3 where we built insane momentum we just couldn’t see it through, all after getting solidly outplayed for 98% of the game. Not to downplay the reigning Stanley cup champions, but I feel like we were a team that succeeded through an incredible system built by Tulsky and ran by Rod the Bod, and Vegas just had our number for the start of the series.
Then we won three in a row to seal the series. We went from a team that allowed very few shots for every past team, to getting outshot by Vegas, to not allowing them to shoot once for 15 minutes in game 6. The change in goaltending is a big part of that, but Carolina was far and away the dominant team for the second half of the series. What else happened that gave us the win?
Edit: Thanks for all the responses yall, I understand a lot better now
