Hello! We recently adopted Nash, a 2-3 year old mix from Arkansas. We submitted a test, but no results yet on his genetic makeup. I had a friend suggest he might be a carolina dog mix? I really think he must have pit in him as well (broader chest, boxy head, 60 lbs). He’s the sweetest guy, we absolutely love him! Hard to find pics of it but he does have a hook tail!
So we took Gordon to the vet today for shots and next round of dewormer and we found out we were fools this whole time….gordon is a girl!! So we’re calling her Gordie as a nickname. We feel so silly we didn’t know. It’s hard to tell with puppies sometimes and the vet said with female dogs sometimes their anatomies can trick you like that. They also told us they think she might have some Shiba Inu in her as well. We’re going to get a test done this week and finally see what she actually is and we will definitely update y’all on this. We’ve actually seen some behaviors of Carolina dogs and Shiba Inu which has been interesting.
She digs a snout pit sometimes to pee in which we read was specific to Carolina dogs, but she also doesn’t bark much at all and has a similar scream to Shiba Inu. We’re very excited to see exactly what she’s all mixed with.
he turns 1 year on august 12th, which was yesterday for us! loves getting scritches & to play around when with only me. rapid patting results in him grumbling & soft-mouthing one's hand to be like "no pat! only scritchies...". he's also very vocal :D
i'm glad i was chosen by him at my local ASPCA
We rescued Scotch when he was 6 months old, and he just turned 16 on Friday! This is likely his last birthday, but he's still just as eager to eat cake!
