Inside Chiesa di Santa Maria Maddalena in Rome, Italy [OC]

One of those places in Rome that feels strangely overlooked.

It is just a few minutes from the Pantheon, but somehow most people walk past without ever going inside.

Faith and the cosmos. 🌕⛪

A striking visual alignment of a modern church bell tower and a glowing full moon. The minimalist sky highlights the majestic architecture.

Does anyone recognize this church?

My grandmother passed away last year and slowly I’ve been getting a lot of her craft and art stuff. This was found with a ton of other freehand sketches on tracing paper in a shoe box. The top left corner says ‘Plano’ and I think that may mean Plano, Illinois as we lived in the Ottawa/Streator and Morris areas most of her and my life. I’ve tried reverse image searching myself and asking family but no one seems to know exactly where it is. It looks so darn familiar to me I can almost feel that I’ve been there. It’s also entirely possible it’s been renovated or demolished since she drew this as I’ve inherited supplies that date back to the 60/70s and 80s. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help!

St Wulfram Church, Grantham, UK 2nd tallest spire in Lincolnshire, built 1300. Home of relics of St Wulfram who died in 900.

Issac Newton sent to school in the town and probably would have worshipped at this church.
