Commission positive about ‘mutual flourishing’ in Blackburn diocese

"WHILE making some criticisms, the Standing Commission on the House of Bishops’ Declaration reports that it feels “very positively” about “mutual flourishing” in the diocese of Blackburn, where the diocesan Bishop, the Rt Revd Philip North, does not ordain women priests.

"The report says the diocese should “be more overt about how to raise incidents of microaggressions or bad behaviour, specifically towards women”, and encourages better communication of the Bishop’s theological position and decisions..."

Trump and NATO

Donald Trump's latest post

>"The United States spends more money on NATO than any other country, by far, to protect them, without getting any benefit from so doing: U.S. 999 Billion Dollars, United Kingdom, 90.5 Billion Dollars, France, 66.5 Billion Dollars, Italy, 48.8 Billion Dollars, Poland, 44.3 Billion Dollars. Others, including Germany, are MUCH LOWER. (2014-2025) Ridiculous! President DJT"

  1. The USA spends far more - only in absolute numbers, not relatively

According to NATO, Poland spends a bigger proportion of its GDP on defence than the USA.

  1. Not all American spending is to protect Europe.

  2. European NATO countries spend billions buying weapons from America

Trump makes three debatable claims in the first sentence.
