Thoughts on humidity before pressing??

Thoughts on humidity before pressing??

Im starting to add a light humidity to my books with a hand steamer before pressing. Ive been doing it to books with paper pages (not glossy), and the covers, with great success. My question is should I be doing the same to books with full gloss pages?

Pic for attention

Learning to press, latest challenge

I've been doing simple pressing of my collection for awhile now and have come across 2 or 3 books with these kinds of wrinkles. This is ONLY on the rear cover of this Teen Titans book, which isn't really worth anything more than the practice it affords me to improve books in this condition. Whatever caused this didn't seep through to the last page, just the rear cover.

The question is, what should my first move be? Humidity and a tack iron? Work out wrinkles slightly with a ball bearing?

Any advice from a veteran is appreciated!

Is there a proper term for this in books? I've found it twice both in early 90s Marvel books. Is this a manufacturing defect?

The dots, incase the images aren't clear enough, are seemingly purple and red, leading me to believe that it was some kind of manufacturing defect with ink.

Can this Ashcan be pressed?

I’ve had this since it came out, picked it up in person at SDCC and had Eastman, Duncan and Waltz sign it but since I’ve had it you can kind of see in the photo the back spine looks almost indented all along the edge. But I didn’t know if that’s just how these were manufactured and it can’t press out or it can be pressed out…

Some minor pressing.

Haven't posted in a spell. Hard water damage, the pages were so stiff I worried they were fused. Took a day or two, but it worked out.

A little pen smudge

Any advice for cleaning up a little pen smudge on a cover? I’m guessing it’s Sharpie so maybe I’m SOL?

Weekly shonen jump

Restored? Cover reattached with glue? Or is it the original manufacturing glue? 1940's square bound DC

Picked up an old World's Finest recently and I am trying to determine if the cover waa reattached with glue or if what I'm seeing is the original glue. It seems a little too luminescent and yellow from what I've heard. What do you think ?
