Weird grey outline when printing the cut

Hi all, I am getting some times this weird grey outline when printing the stickers sheet from design space.

The process is simple. Created the image with transparencias in photoshop, exported as a png, and the load into cricut design space. On screen everything looks perfect but after printing, I get that grey halo around the stickers. Anyone else has encountered this problem and found a fix?

Thanks in advance.

Best routine for working with very thin materials?

(Sorry for my English, its not my native language)
Hi, I am a first time cutter user! While owning another brand of the machine, I think people on this subreddit encounter with the same issues as I do.
I cut very thin holographic film(it’s not like a regular lamination sheet, it’s very thin as lamination foil) with the machine to then place it on the paper and run through laminator to bound. The result is similar to the picture(it’s just an example picture from Pinterest)
My problem is in transferring the design on the paper. If it’s one solid piece I avoid using transfer tape and just manually scrape it off th mat and put on the paper. Which tool should I use? I have weeder and it rips off the design.
If I do use the transfer tape with more complex designs it often bounds to the paper after lamination and makes its impossible to remove. When I use prelinted tape it wouldn’t bound after lamination but it also wouldn’t pick up good the design from the mat.
I would be glad to receive an advise on tools/materials/technics to improve my routine!

Help! Idk what I’m doing

Hi, so I’m making these shirts for my volleyball team and the black part in the middle is currently black Vinyl but I don’t want to cut black vinyl to put on a black shirt to get the look I want! I used the cricut help chat to try but I can’t get this desired look, if I remove the black Vinyl.
(The second photo is what it looks like when I do, I’m not sure how to explain what I am wanting to do beside combining the U and the volleyball into one simple piece)

Help with tote bag

Has anyone used these heavy duty make it bags for iron on? They are 100% cotton but they feel like very thick canvas. I’m using brand new holographic iron on, and a regular iron.

Weird iron on vinyl - brand new

So I’ve been doing iron on projects for years and have never seen this. I got a bunch of rolls of cricut brand sport flex iron on (my usual go to). And as soon as I opened it, I noticed it looked weird, but I needed to get this project done so I second guessed myself. Then it wouldn’t stick to my mat - I assumed my mat was just done so I got out a brand new mat. It still didn’t stick well, but again I needed to get the project done so I kept trucking.
It weeded TERRIBLY, like stringy, constantly snapping, no smooth pull off.
And then it wouldn’t iron on.
Any idea what is going on with this vinyl?

Cricuit Perforation Blade Not Detected

Recently got a perforation blade, and no matter what I do, it does not recognize it in the machine. I have cleaned the detector housing with compressed air, I have cleaned the tool itself, I have unplugged, uninstalled, turned off and on and also tried other tools (they detect just fine). Is my maker just too old for this tool or something?

Using a Cricut to Journal

Hi everyone 😄

I have a Cricut Maker 4. I also have the Crictu 0.4 Black Tip Pen, or a Universal Pen Adaptor. I have a light grip and a standard grip mat.

I have a dream. I love to journal but I don't love my handwriting. It's something that actually prevents me from journaling. So, I'd like to use my Cricut to give the illusion of handwritten journal entries (even though they would be my typed entries just written by my Cricut.

I've been playing and testing with what this looks like but my flow seems chunky and I don't think I've quite mastered the art yet.

The goal is to have an A5 (1/2 letter) sized journal. I'd have loose leaf sheets that I would feed the Cricut each day to submit my journal entries to. I would prefer a font that feels more natural, and less bubble writing.

I'm down to invest in things if necessary too.

My questions are as follows:

  1. Do people have pen recommendations?
  2. Do people have paper recommendations?
  3. Do people have font or setting recommendations?
  4. Do people have any other general suggestions for success?

Some stickers and keychains I've made with Cricut

I used my handy dandy Cricut Explore 3 for the sticker sheets/stickers.

I was out of a standard grip/green mat the other day before I bought it. I used the purple/strong grip mat for stickers out of desperation and...do NOT do it lol I learned the hard way

Anyway, enjoy the designs!!

Cardstock ripping

This is my first time making cardstock cards on my new cricut, and they turned out... not good. Wondering if my details are too intricate or if it's a setting issue I can correct?

Besides the obvious ripping of the finer details, the cuts that DID work still look really messy (as seen on the pink card). Help!

Holographic laminate over only some print & cut stickers?

Hey y’all! I’m making 2 sheets of stickers, and I want to put a holographic laminate over only some of the stickers. In previous stickers where I want the laminate over them all, i just trim the laminate and put it over the whole sheet before cutting and increase the cut pressure.
My issue is almost all these stickers will have a white offset, so once it prints I won’t be able to see exactly where one sticker ends and the next starts. Any ideas for how to do this? They’re all die cut, and since the Create Sticker feature in design space is now free I used that feature instead of creating the actual offset and flattening.

talk to me like I'm 5 🙏

Total newb here, Can anyone please walk me through this? I have an image on my computer that's a PNG file. I want to make this into a decal for my car window. It's a color image.

I have sticker paper. I have cricut pens. I have all the basic tools. I just don't know how to get it from "image on computer" to "car window decal" lol.

For the record, I have done two whole projects on this machine. But I want to learn all the things.

How to align Cricut basic cut with printed page

I’ve had my Cricut Maker 4 for about a month and I’m now finally starting to do more things with it, one of them being my snail mail club. As opposed to cutting my prints and rounder corners by hand, I thought I could just use Cricut to do it for me.

Well… now I’m confused. I didn’t do the print then cut because my design is double-sided and I have a specific layout to maximize the space on paper. I grabbed the same x and y axis from my canva file and recreated it in the design space to have the machine cut it out and round the corners. It keeps getting the measurements wrong and I’m so frustrated. You can see it in the picture.

Is this not possible? Is there a way to make print then cut work with this instead of just basic cut? Any advice would be appreciated!!

Sticker outline struggle

Hi everyone! I’ve read all the tips and still can’t get this right. I just want to cut the outline of this sticker - I managed to do it with a colored background but I’m wanting to use a holographic transparent sticker sheet from cricut. HOW do I get just the outline? I tried contour, didn’t work, it won’t give me the flatten option either. I’ve wasted two sheets of paper so far… please help I really don’t want the words cut out. I’m just trying to make cute stickers for my relay team. Also I eventually want to make them into patches as well so need to get this cutting down correctly.

I have a cricut maker 4.

Is this even possible to make?

It measures about 2 inches long and 1 inch tall. I could hand cut out the little notch on the bottom.

Can my maker 4 makes these items?

I’ve been trying to learn to sew but I struggle with making correct measurements. However, I’ve heard that a cricut can cut leather and make bows and wristlets so I was wondering if it can make wallets and makeup bags using regular fabric too? I know it can’t put the pieces together itself, I’d actually have to sew or glue them together. I just want to know if making these items is possible? I want to make similar items as what’s in these photos.

Help! Why does it stop for long periods during a cut?

My cricut pauses in the middle of a cut.

It stops at .32 sec up to 1.22 sec. And again at 2:45 sec to 2:56.

That's almost a minute pause! I don't know why it's doing that. It also happens on basic cut not just on print and cut. This is a frequent problem recently.

I have a cricut explore air and using the design space on windows 11. Have done the power purge. Restart the cut, reconnect Bluetooth. My DS is a fairly new install on this computer so not much cache.

Please help, a simple cut takes forever to finish.
