App starting dash and accepting orders by itself?!?

This stupid ass app is glitching terribly today. It’s starting dashes and accepting orders without me doing any of that. It’s already dropped my completion rate 2% today because of this. I’ve had to call support 2 times when I noticed it was happening to get unassigned from 2 orders that are 3 hours away from where I live in a market I used to dash in. I even deleted the app just to try to stop it and next thing I know I’m getting a text saying that I’m not moving towards the order! What in the actual fuck DD?

Pay is just so little now?

I dashed 4 years ago in my hometown and I was getting BIG money, like 5 dollar tips, multiple orders, huge ratings, money tips, but now that I'm dashing In PA, I'm making 10 dollars an hour.

I genuinely don't get it, I do an order, then after I finish it, I get a 10 mile delivery that I obviously decline because base pay is under the milage I'm gonna use, and after I decline, its a 10-20 minute wait for another 3-4 dollar order.

Im in a busy city, bustling with orders, maybe too many dashers? What has actually changed with this? any time I get 10 dollars, it goes towards gas, so my only true profit is from a busy hour where I make 20, I'm so annoyed

GIG GUARD - How I started tracking my weekly goal/targets

I recently started door dashing (its my 4th week now) and was surprised to know about the pay adjustment in Ontario and British Columbia (Canada). DD only tells you on Monday when your week is complete. So I created this calculator/goal tracker and looking forward to feedback from our real drivers.

What I was trying to solve?
- Set a goal tracking which includes pay adjustments but excludes tips.
- What if I want to earn more? I should know how much extra cash will i receive for my active hours?

Any drivers from British Columbia who could tell me if they get to know the mileage for the current week? I read in the law that drivers get extra 0.35 CAD for every KM they cover.

For uber eats - I am currently developing it. I have the calculation but need to figure out some kinks.

All feedback is welcomed. And it's absolutely free and no data tracking at all.

Question for other drivers...

I just picked up Pho from a small local Pho shop. They are super nice folks there. They are speedy and efficient. But the thing is- they always stack their orders- typically containers of soup that are prone to leakage, very high. This causes them to be tippy and a quick turn or break tap because of a bad driver on the road (sometimes me, if I'm being honest, lol) and it's topple over time!

So, I'm just wondering, as a driver- what are the types of items that you least prefer to pick up?

I am paying for everyone's groceries.

Hi all, I am new to DD but am a Platinum Tier driver and have the 20 store pickups completed BUT every time I go to a store and it demands that I pay with my Red Card and I use it as a Credit Card, it is taking the money from MY account. Every person at support I speak to is either entirely clueless or tells me a different story. This one I am on the phone with now thinks that I just have to pay and then submit a refund request each time that cant be right? So far I am $150 in the hole and I can't continue to buy groceries for customers!

Can ANYONE tell me how I am supposed to pay for DD grocery pickups without ME paying? I thought DD put money in my account before I went to the store but that clearly isn't true. Then I thought I used it as a CC and DD would be charged but now it seems that I just have to buy the groceries and then spend ages trying to get a refund. I don't want to stop doing store runs but I feel like I can't afford to continue!

Thanks for any help!

Edit. Thanks for the help all. I finally got to speak to a supervisor and she's doing it all for me and refunding and I ordered a physical red card to go with my virtual one and I will try to be less of a dummy in future.

Edit 2. Thanks to whoever downvoted this. Charmed, I'm sure!

It's really funny how that works, even though everybody says otherwise.

I got a contract violation a little over a month ago. I only really dash on my days off, so I don't really get to get that many deliveries. This is the first day I've driven after my contract violation has fallen off, and I'm making money just like I did before the contract violation hit, before I was scrambling to even get a good order. Like I would have to decline like three four five bullshit orders just to get one good one. And I refuse to believe that's just chance that I had basically spent a whole month of hating door dashing until I magically start getting orders that I normally get before I got my contract violation. I have always believed that contract violations affect your account and your ability to receive orders. How? I'm not sure. It might just take you out of the priority pool for all I know. And I kind of think that opinion holds some weight because I have never seen that high paying order banner show up on any order I ever received during that last month of door dashing. But I'm seeing it practically every other order now, like I used to before the contract violation. So I refuse to believe anybody who says that contract violations don't affect your account. Because they may not in your area, but they definitely do where I live.

This is actually funny.

You think somebody is gonna go to Dollar General and then deliver 2 12 packs and 2 gallon drinks with your 8 shitty pot pies for no tip? Good luck.

I usually just decline and move on but thought you guys would appreciate this one.

In this economy? Not a chance lol.

Ratings format change?

Anyone else’s ratings screen go back to the old format today? This sucks having to maintain 70% AR to be platinum as well as 100 deliveries in last 30 days. Normally the number of orders wouldn’t be a problem but I haven’t been dashing a lot because I’ve been working 50 hours a week at my job. I’m dashing this week to get ahead a bit and just checked my account and saw this bs again. Why DD, why? Quit fucking with the app.

Platinum actually makes a difference in my smallish market. Is it time to just go full on cherry pick on these bitches?

Notification volume stuck on loudest

I can't seem to lower the volume. Volume buttons on my phone work but there's no change in volume.

Since I hang out in the library while waiting for offers I really need to lower the notification.

Any ideas? It used to be fine.

Blocking restaurants

I thought in the latest Dasher update where they rolled out their new ratings formula. The Dashers were going to be able to block restaurants for three weeks at a time. I haven’t been able to block a restaurant. I don’t wanna pick up orders at raising Cane‘s, I don’t think I should have to fill the drink cups. I haven’t been given an option to block them.

Anyone getting bad orders lately?

Been working since yesterday and my AR was at 98%, everything was going great. But ever since last night, I’ve been getting nothing but terrible orders: $4 for 8 miles, $3 for 6 miles, 4$ walgreens orders for 20+ items and etc. In just one day my AR dropped to 89%, which has never happened before in my 600+ deliveries. Anyone else experiencing something similar lately?

Elderly fathers unfair DoorDash deactivation

My 65-year-old father’s DoorDash account was suddenly deactivated after failing a facial verification check — even though it was literally his own face. He has been delivering for DoorDash for 6 years with over 21,000 completed deliveries and has successfully passed every previous identity verification without issues. Then out of nowhere, one verification failed, his account was deactivated immediately, and his appeal was denied with no real explanation. This has completely devastated him because DoorDash was his main source of income. We’ve tried appealing and contacting support, but we keep getting generic responses and no actual help. Has anyone else experienced something similar with DoorDash facial verification or wrongful deactivation? Were you ever able to get the account reinstated? Any advice would really help right now.

Question for experience dashers, how do I combat unjust ratings?

I’m a 5 1/2 year Dasher and have never had any issue with people recording orders not delivered until just recently. I have photos of the customer grabbing the order and the Geo location screenshot to back that up even further. I have also been told in each case that they can see I was at the correct location at The correct time to deliver the order. And yet nothing so far has been changed and my quality rate has gone from a steady 10 to a 1.

I’ve been fed lies by supervisors saying that these reports would be removed and they never were. I have even received an email from Support and I am now told that it will take up to a week even though the email specifically states it will take 1 to 2 days has this been happening to any other Dasher and what should I do from this point? I’m also constantly marked late for some of the orders that I arrive and immediately mark that the order is not ready yet. These orders have not counted against me for weeks now since the last time that the app was doing this and we’re back to the same old game where I’m getting marked as being late for reasons out of my control what can I really do at this point?

This is past the point of being ridiculous and I’m including just one example of being promised something that never happens, because now apparently they are saying that this can actually take up to a week and they are also saying that I cannot change any of my ratings until the 22nd because of their one per week policy when I have not had any adjustments to any rating for the last two weeks at all!

I have everything recorded and the last person falsely accused me of adjusting ratings that I never even had adjusted. They said that my completion rate was adjusted and that this is why I can’t have another adjustment when my completion rate has been 100% for long time. I would have no reason to even want to request this. Anybody have a true piece of advice for what I’m going through? This is really more of a question for veteran Dashers going through similar issues.
